Franklin Dock reviews
13I was here as a part of a cruise to Alaska - a bucket list experience! The ride on this dock was interesting adventure in a wheelchair. With the $$$ the cruise industry makes on these trips, you might expect them to invest in the ports they visit.
Awe! Breathe in breathe out, clean fresh air, picture perfect views and photographers paradise.
They moved this through the doctor very fast and very thoroughly they have empty cruise ships down to a science
Great place. We were on a cruise and every port that we stopped at was great. We were on a Princess Cruise.
Not sure how I can rave about a dock. It held the cruise ship we arrived on long enough for us to leave and come back. Seemed sturdy enough. As docks go I think it is a very good one. Of course not being an engineer don't take my word for it. If I had a large boat to dock, this is where I would dock it. More due to the area then the actual dock but I do feel it would be adequate to hold my boat while I was in the area.
There are no roads into Juneau. If you want to visit then you have to fly in or come in by boat and dock here. A well designated and busy dock for the state capital. Don't forget to visit the Red Dog Saloon while you are in town.
Excellent part on the organizers to arrange for transportation for tourist. Smooth transition from bus to destinations. We were especially amazed by how young the drivers were.
Very nice port for cruise ships. Lots of Jewelry stores. Too many ships in port at same time. Packed with people. Deisel fumes strong from ships. Long lines in shops discouraged shopping.
Disembarked cruise ship, boarded train for Talketna, very easy switch, everything went well.
This is the dock for the cruise ships in Juneau. There are hundreds of eagles flying around there what a sight.
Beautiful port, close to downtown. Managed to get a taxi as soon as we disembarked and did a number of excursions on our own. It rained in the afternoon, so we couldn't go up the tram, which is located right there at the dock. The missus enjoyed walking downtown, I didn't.everywhere you go, someone is trying to sell you something that you probably don't need.
Needs to be closer to entrance or provide a golf cart so the walk is not so long after a long day ashore for elderly and disabled persons
Amazing views if you just hike up to Dewey Lake. The wildlife is abundant there. There are also microscopic flakes of gold in the streams on the way up. It is a very educational hike for kids that have the energy.
