Baptist Health-Fort Smith

This hospital doesn't even deserve a star at all. I have had a loved one in the ICU 2 times in less then 2 weeks and never got a call letting me know they were in ICU on a ventilator. And last year she was transported to a different state to a different hospital and I was never notified. I only found out because I called her phone several times and a staff member at the out of state hospital answered and told me where she was. This hospital is horrible. If I could change her hospitals I most definitely would. I do not recommend this hospital at all. And they leave dirty sheets with blood on the patients. It's not a good place for your sick loved ones.

Don't ever go to er unless not a big emergency. I went in knowing I have heart issues while having symptoms of a heart attack. They did a EKG but it was normal and the last 4 I have gotten at a clinic said I have a block. And after I got to my room they did labs those were the same as prior to the incident. Than it took 4 hours to say I'm fine and send me home. The next day I went to my doctor and told her about the incident and she said they lied about my BP mine was higher than what they said and told me to never go back to Baptist for my heart l.
So long story short don't go if it's a actual emergency

My father in law was life flighted to er in pretty bad shape. From the er, he went to the 5th floor, to icu, and finally to the 4th floor. On each floor, the nurses have been awesome. So very helpful, considerate and compassionate. I will recommend this hospital to everyone.

They let my mother pass and now they’re going to do the same to my grandfather. If you have a seriously ill loved one please stay away from this place.

Brought my son to ER around 12pm the were quick to diagnose him with appendicitis. Told us he need surgery asap. Then pretty much ghosted us in the room. Iv bag ran dry, didn’t hook him to monitor no one came to check on him till I had to go find a nurse for her to only tell us there is no rooms and his surgery won’t be done till 10pm. Very unacceptable this is why everyone is going up to NWA so much better.

My dad was sent here went into septic shock they let him go 4 days later, I asked them doesn't he still need iv antibiotics they said no he's good with the pill but went to his doctors appointment last week, they stated to bring him back he will go into another septic shock bc he should of never been off i.v antibiotics his arm was getting hot to the touch he needs iv antibiotics still and never should of been taken off. I visited him while he was in the hospital the place seems dirty and not up to code or date. They lost his medicine he takes daily and then some how managed to find it days later! He's now back in the hospital on iv antibiotics bc the infection is out of control again verge of shock when they stated he would be fine on just the pills, which was not true he never should of been taken off in that time frame period.

Not let 11 year old grandson, see his papa after a massive heart attack. Even tho he might not make it threw the night.what are you gonna say his grandson if he dies.yall are dumb. Hope you think on that one.

I really wish I had read reviews before coming here. I have asked for pain meds now twice and no body is even talking to the Dr about it. I have a 10mm Kidney stone and Im in a lot of pain. I'm a current patient as of 9/29/22 and this has got to be the worst experience I've ever had. I also reported being nauseous and they are refusing to ask the Dr for anything to help. This will be the last time I use Baptist Health If something doesn't change. I'm going back to Mercy because this is down right ridiculous.

Came back because this is just where my urologists is. Today's date is 01/21/2024. The staff on the 5th floor has been great. Love my nurse.

Honestly wouldn’t take my worst enemy to this place. This is where people walk in and don’t walk out.
The nursing staff is rude. They don’t pay attention to their patients. Because someone with signs of stroke is normal human functioning right? The doctors, well where are they?

My grandmother has found out that she has cancer after she went in here for surgery on her leg. They have told her that she isn’t strong enough to leave the hospital after some complications, they said that if moved she would not survive. We decided to put her into hospice care there, where we were told her treatment would continue as it has been. Once moved into hospice, they completely stopped her treatments, weren’t even bringing her food or water, took her off of oxygen, and stopped all her medications. If we had left her in hospice there, she would’ve died overnight. We have no choice but to leave her at this hospital but if we could move her to literally anywhere else we would. We will never use this hospital again if it can be avoided. We are extremely disappointed with the care she has been given, it feels like she is just another number to them. Like they couldn’t care less about helping her and are not even interested in doing their best to make her comfortable in her last stretch of life.

Horrible hospital, we were told to move, be quiet and disrespected by nurses. I’m from Texas and had to bring my 2 small children with me and they have been here for 10 hours and they are getting restless and instead of being understanding they have been telling us that we are to loud and giving us dirty looks. If owner would like to contact me, please reply I want to make a complaint! The nurses even told us NOT to trust the SURGEON. This hospital shouldt even be in business! Save yourself and go somewhere else!
Ps AFTER THIS WAS POSTED THEY CAME AND TOLD US THAT WE NEEDED TO BE QUIET AND THAT WE WONT BE TOLD AGAIN TO SHUT UP OR THEY WILL CALL THR COPS (which they did) AFTER WE HEARD OUR GRANDMOTHER WAS DYING! We were just crying (no loud noises what so ever) mostly the bald headed security guard in the front

ER staf not helpful.i press button for help in room 12 they didn’t cam to check.they left patient keep cry… this my third visit to ER and every time I find tham careless

2 days in a row I waited an hour for the nurse on duty to bring my pain meds, this is ridiculous, someone needs to manage the nurses better in this place, I'm about ready to leave AMA and report it to my doctor so he can find out why I had to wait so long for meds while I was in severe pain! Apparently no one reads these because it happened again today, it, I paged the nurse at 11.30 am for pain. Meds, it was almost 5: 00 before I got any pain meds plus it's 8: 30 now and my urinal has been full since 6: 00 pm.

What an absolutely deplorable hospital. Full of hateful, incompassionate, disrespectful staff. If you care about your loved ones, DO NOT bring them here.

Advertising themselves under the guise of 'Baptist', but any true baptist I've ever met would denounce the treatment given to us by the staff, administration, and security.

Imagine being told your loved one is dying and being confronted by a security officer and being told to "calm down. " During the worst moment in some of our family's lives.

This same cowardly individual then decides to call in several other security personnel threatening to remove our family.

After speaking to him, he tells us that "several nurses and admin staff" had complained that we were being "disruptive" because we had received news of our loved one.

The following day, we saw this same individual talking to some other staff. They pointed at us and we overheard them refer to us as "wild animals" and that we "didn't know how to act. " I would like to know the appropriate response to news of a dying loved one, in their eyes.

To say that this behavior is disgusting, abhorrent, unprofessional, disrespectful, and unbecoming of a "baptist" health care worker is a dramatic understatement. This person and any other staff involved should feel ashamed.

We are currently escalating this situation through the appropriate channels, but others should be wary of this place. I implore you, if you want yourself or your loved ones to receive quality care from staff who care about you, go elsewhere.

Baptist health will see you as nothing more than a meat bag with a wallet.

Dr Sullivan had a great bed side manner and listened very well. I have always received great care at Baptist. And today was no exception

If I was you, I would suggest not eating in the cafeteria, their prices constantly jump up and down. They tell you one price and I’ll tell you another. This is our first experience. We’ve been stuck at this hospital for a month with a sick family! So trying to eat at the cafeteria has seemed rather quick and easy but every single one of us had had nothing but issues today was quite shocking. They tried to charge me $12 for three tiny chicken strips. I said there ain’t no way I’m paying $12 for these and then she’s like open the box so I opened it and then she said it’ll be $6.90. One guy got a decent salad. He said he ended up having to pay $25 for that salad. And absolute joke. If you’re not familiar with it, they don’t have prices hardly on anything so you don’t actually know how much you’re paying until you get to the register. I would like to say that they do have one of the best hamburgers 6.99 for fries and the burger! Definitely better than the fast food ones. But be careful with anything else you buy.

Had my daughter here they lost my shoes and clothes I came in with same thing happened to my sister just recently they were never found.

My husband & I would like to thank ALL staff & doctors for the GREAT care my husband was given this week. He was on 5 west & had GREAT nurses that looked after him with both kindness & concern! God bless ALL of you & thanks again! You will be in our prayers! Hiarm & Linda Stone
