Staff in very kind and caring. The residents in the dinning area seemed very content with the surroundings. Thankful my aunt is in a safe place.

It is a wonderful place that is cozy and feels like home all the staff are wonderful at their jobs because taking care of seniors it’s not a job to them it’s a passion

I have the utmost respect for the staff at Brookfield. With the challenges caregivers face today, they have stepped up to the plate and provided excellent care for my family member as well as all of their residents.

Kudos to everyone! I am grateful, thankful and blessed.

By far the WORST place I’ve ever worked at. I wasn’t even there a month, along with my sister before we quit. The management there, well ATLEAST the assistant DON is SO RUDE, but let’s not forget the majority of the current staff there. We were one of the few “white” employees that worked there or on our shift ATLEAST, and 2 days in to working at this facility, I was already being bullied and had prejudice remarks made to me about my skin color by the woman who was working in the memory care unit with us that goes by the name of Andrea. I was asked by the DON and ADON how things were going and I reported on my SECOND day about the bullying and racial slurs that were being made. I was told it would be taken care of, and also WARNED BY THE ADON that this woman was one of the many that would try to run us off and that if anything else happened I was to report it to them. So a couple weeks went by and the same nitpicking was continuing with this same lady, and I again went and reported it, except this time the management seemed annoyed? BUT WAIT IT GETS BETTER. This time my sister and I both went in to have a sit down about us being BULLIED since we started working here by this woman, in a confidential setting, SO WE THOUGHT. Upon explaining the situation to our supervisors we heard the lady outside the office talking about us, clearly. I mentioned it to the ADON and she went and swung the door open for this employee and offered her to come in and closed the door behind us. Completely violating our privacy, and creating a more hostile work environment then there had already been. So basically my sister, the woman who was bullying us, and myself sat in the office for over an hour arguing back and forth, trying to defend ourselves while our supervisors sat back and laughed in my face, no reports were done, our privacy was invaded, and we were asked to “JUST SWEEP IT UNDER THE RUG AND MOVE ON”, we were embarrassed, I ended up walking out of the building bawling because I was so infuriated with the what had just happened and that fueled the fire with the woman who was bullying us. I gave my loyalty to that company the short time I was there and probably would’ve for many years because I have a passion to help people, and I know the residents enjoyed me as well as I did them. The facility is beautiful, however the staff and some of the employees are not. There is tons of bullying in that place, lack of management, all of the nurses except for Sheila and Vanessa & Julie are rude, it’s just over all a negative place and it’s sad that I allowed them to break me. I was mostly in shock that they let a BULLY run two great employees off who would’ve been a great asset to that facility and helping build it back up because they couldn’t do their jobs. Oh I forgot to mention please keep an eye on what the kitchen is feeding you and your residents, the kitchen staff is so trashy and rude, they sent up molded hamburger buns to feed to our residents and refused to bring up anything else, also they served RAW CHICKEN PATTIES, we threw out as many as there was and made sure that our residents were eating the well done ones. We also took pictures that we sent to corporate. They will continue to lose employees and money due to the fact they hire trash people, so if you’re thinking about working there, or placing a family member under there care. I’d think twice!
The DON is a sweet guy. He just needs a little more back bone on how to handle these type of situations, the ADON kind of seemed like she was dragging him around by the collar the way she talks and demands things. My advice to you if you ever see this is get rid of her, and all the racist employees running that facility and maybe you wouldn’t keep losing good employees. Nobody and I mean nobody deserves to be treated the way we were!

Brookfield is a great place to work. The staff really cares about the needs of our residents. There are monthly Alzheimer's support meetings that are helpful for family learning to deal with the disease. Our activity coordinators provide lots of fun opportunities that help our residents adjust to their new living environment. The apartments allow residents to still have a feeling of independence.
