Grain On The Rocks, Lewes DE

We love the place but while the food was good very disappointed they permitted dogs inside. The sign out front states pets allowed on patio, the sign on door says not pets!
While eating a group came in with their dog and nonchalantly were seated by the hostess.
If this is the policy just please list it correctly.

This is my first time at this restaurant and it will also be my last. We ate outside (big mistake) there were flies and gnats EVERYWHERE. All over the food and on my body nonstop. The burger I ordered came out wrong (after waiting 25 minutes for it). I sent it back, and it took another 30 minutes for a new one to be sent out. Tia, our waitress was possibly new or having a bad night because she was forgetful and inattentive.

Chicken nachos were awful, Bits of chicken and no clue what the cheese was (16 $ …?). But chicken sandwich ok. Crab soup looked good, but did not order. Overpriced, so will have something before we board the ferry.

Just left! I can't rate the service because there was none! I asked about sitting at a table for a drink, bartender said he'd send someone right out! No one looked at us or said can I help you or I will be with you in a minute, no contact, then I stayed at the table, husband went to the bar, no one acknowledged him! It wasn't crazy busy, we just left! Sorry to say but you could at least ask if we're being taken care of

Stopped in for a late lunch. I had the Shrimp Tacos, hubby had the PJ burger. Service was excellent food was good.

Visited on a Saturday night. Full-house, but wait time to be seated was short. Food was delicious! Band present and played until 9: 00 p.m. - music was great!

Horrible! I have never had a worse experience at a restaurant. Five of us went out - we had to wait an hour- then four of us were served, they just never brought the fifth person’s dinner. They just forgot. No apologies either. It was humiliating. The food that the rest of us received was mediocre. Have a drink on the deck, but whatever you do, DON’T ever eat there

I hate giving a bad review. This place has all of the ingredients to be a powerhouse venue, but the service is consistently poor. They always cite "low staffing, " which is understandable occasionally, but this happens ALL THE TIME. Went there for dinner on Sunday evening. Was told that the wait was 45 minutes. Since we were waiting for friends that wouldn't be there for another half hour, I put my name in. Over an hour later, I still hadn't received a call. So I went in to check on things, and there were SEVERAL empty tables. I mentioned to another person that I had put my name in an hour prior, and the hostess said "oh my god, you've been waiting an hour? " She was the one that put me in the queue to begin with. So we get seated, but we're not given menus. Our waitress apologized and brought menus. The beer menu is laid out like a Battleship game. I see what they were trying to do, but the execution is poor. Drinks came after a bit, one of which had a fly in it, so we sent that back. Food didn't take too long, but 3 of the 5 dishes were prepared wrong. We didn't send them back because at this point, we just wanted to eat, and we were able to deconstruct our sandwiches, trade certain ingredients, and get generally what we wanted in the first place. I've organized events at a lot of different venues, and Grain would be a perfect venue for what I do, but I refuse to use them just because of the poor service. If you're looking for an okay drink at the bar and a good view, this place is perfect. Anything more than that and you're probably going to be disappointed. I really want to love this place, but I just can't.

Food was amazing! Highly recommend their appetizers. Atmosphere was incredible and our server Maddie was the best! 5 stars!

Was weary going to this place based on previous reviews, but our party of five said "what the heck", we were taking a Cape Water Taxi from the terminal and it was a beautiful day to eat outside. We were expecting bar food, not an expensive dinner. Very glad we went. All 5 were pleasantly surprised by the food (1 Grain Burger, 1 OMG Burger, 1 Bavarian Pretzel, 1 Cheeseburger Flatbread, 1 Chicken Caesar Wrap) which was good to very good for the bar food category. And the view watching the ferry come in from Cape May was excellent. Service was above average.

Wow this establishment really has no business being a restaurant 3rd time being here and it gets worse every time if a place like this can’t retain or hire staff why even be open half the place is empty but takes 1hr to get sat food is terrible takes forever to come out and service is the slowest I’ve ever experienced at this point it be better to tear it down and just open a food court so ppl can actually enjoy the outdoor view and have fast service for the ferry cause this place is definitely not it.

I sat at the bar for over 5 minutes.the only interaction I received from bar staff was when I was given menus. Bar wasn't full. The bartender was talking to another customer, I literally was right behind him. I've been here before, food and service were.god last night. This time not so much.

This was one of my favorite places but…we went today for lunch and we’re so very disappointed!
They must have a new chef: (the once delicious chicken salad with grapes and walnuts is NO more…now it has apples no nuts and tastes like canned chicken not fresh baked. The once delicious cream of crab soup now has a tomato color base and carrots celery and onions in it! I have never had cream of crab soup like this. IT was previously so delicious!
Please bring back your original recipes!

Great restaurant find! Service was fast, prices were fair and the food was phenomenal! We had a great time here. Everyone loved their dishes.

My table ordered starters I got the cheesesteak eggrolls they were very small pay $12 and he got two of them in half for you that’s it and then my husband ordered the chicken wings that was right out in the service there was horrible I ordered it we waited about 20 to 25 minutes to get her appetizers we thought they forgot about us. This was not her first time there but it may be your last time it was that bad
