I needed a shade for an antique lamp, but was uncertain about the fitting and suitable dimensions. David confirmed that I had a threaded uno and advised on size. He then made and shipped the shade (I live in New York). He was helpful and professional throughout and the shade arrived right on time. I would definitely go back to Shannon Lamp Service for future shade needs.

We recently had 6 lamps repaired & restored by Shannon's Lamp Service. When we went to pick them up Russ Williamson fell in love with a lamp,
created by David Shannon's Father, at age 91. We are proud to have been able to purchase it and have it in our home. Excellent Service by David and a trip to his shop is truly a delightful experience. He handmakes all his shades, most of his lamps and has very hard to find glass globes & lamps.such great customer service, which seems so hard to find these days.

Shannon Lamp Service is a Lexington Treasure. David has several decades of experience in his family’s business and appears to be able to fix any lamp problem. I first met him when he fixed a lamp damaged in our move to the area. While in the shop I noticed an impressive display of lampshades that he crafts himself - so he updated the shade on a lamp that was my Grandmother’s. With the help of powdered coating (also done in Lexington) he transformed a dated brass lamp into one of beauty. Most recently I purchased a restored floor lamp and had 2 custom made lamp shades. The quality of work is excellent and the prices more than fair. Discover this treasure for yourself!

Shannon Lamp Service is a gem in Lexington. A family owned business for 66 years serving people’s needs. I took an old chandelier there to be rewired and have the arms tightened. Service was prompt, very reasonably priced and friendly. David Shannon even placed the repaired chandelier in my front seat and buckled it in with the seat belt. Highly recommend!

I have been a customer of Shannon Lamp Service for many years and cannot say enough complimentary things about David Shannon and his shop. I have bought some really pretty things here, both table and floor lamps, none of which I have found in other stores, especially not of such high quality and at such very resonable prices. I have also taken old lamps, some antique, that I have had for many years and had new shades made to replace those that had become a little worn out or shabby. He and before him, his late father, have recaned chairs for me, always beautifully done. I recommend.

I have a nostalgic love for this little shop because it's been here forever and reminds me of the old Lexington that is fast disappearing. Get yourself there and take lamps for repair or new parts, or shades for that vintage/funky lamp you bought at an estate sale, or just look at the classic lighting and treat your self to a HANDMADE lampshade that they've been making as long as they've been there.

Creative lamps and beautiful shades, and far more than that! A local business with over 60 years of continuity. Not only USA made, but LOCAL. A special moment to meet the owner who not only "grew up" in this store, but is happy to serve Lexington. His wife make beautiful handmade cards for every occasion! If you want good old fashioned friendliness and family, this is a MUST PLACE to shop for all your lamp needs!

I highly recommend using Shannon Lamp Service for your lamp needs. David was able to fix my lamp while I waited. Very reasonably price, and extremely friendly! I also enjoyed walking around the store to see all the unique lamps. Next time I need a lamp, I will be heading over to the shop.

I became acquainted with David and his store shortly after we relocated to Lexington, KY from Arizona. One of my lamps had so many different parts and not all of them were for this lamp. Within seconds, he had it put together for me. A few days later my elbow hit an antique globe lamp breaking the globe and chimney into pieces. Took the lamp into Shannon's and David got me all fixed up and the charge was very reasonable. Professional and knowledgeable, I know I will be able to trust Shannon Lamp Service with any lamp repairs I may need in the future and when the time comes and I need to buy a new lamp, I will go to Shannon's and shop their wide selection of every style of lamp imaginable.

David helped me get the right shape, size and color shade for my antique lamps and then replaced some parts to make sure they were safe. I am very pleased with the results.
