Terrible customer service! I sat in the line waiting for 30 minutes and finally when he came out, I asked for an oil change and he said they aren't doing oil changes

The web and phone call conversation with the automotive service department, they were to open at 7. The door opened about 8: 20 am and the first customer was directed to service bay at 8: 27 am, not sure when a ticket was written.

I brought my 2014 Ford Explorer in Friday 11/17/2023 at 2: 15 pm to have my tires rotated and balanced as per the service I paid for when the tires were purchased 1 year ago.
The day prior to me bringing the vehicle to Walmart, the tire low inflation alarm was activated. This prompted me to check the pressure on all 4 tires with three showing 30PSI and 1at 20PSI. This validated the alarm.
When I dropped it off at Walmart, I specifically told the technician to rotate and balance the tires, but to inspect the rear passenger tire because of the low air pressure.

I returned home and by 5: 30pm, I had not been contacted by the tire service department. I called and the service desk said they had no paperwork on my vehicle and the work had not been completed.
This task was originally supposed to take 1.5 hours to complete. As I waited on the phone, they said yes, the vehicle was completed but they can’t find the paperwork.

With all of these inconsistencies, I was concerned if the tires were ever touched or if it was correctly done insuring my family’s safety.

The service center at this Walmart was in total chaos with no administrative staff on duty. I arrived at 6: 10pm and my vehicle was outside ready for me to pick up.

I asked to speak to someone concerning the job preformed on my vehicle. My first question was if the problem tire (passenger rear tire) was inspected for possible nails or road hazard damage and the answer was NO.

Then I asked if the tires were rotated and the answer was yes. Then I asked if the tires had been balanced and the answer was NO but later was told they were supposed to be and he did balance them.

I insisted that the problem tire be inspected. Sure enough, there was a nail in the tire. He repaired the tire and re balanced it.

With NO management in the service department, this was the most dis-functional operation I have ever seen. The technicians are not bad people. They were just overwhelmed and looked exhausted with all the additional responsibilities they were trying to handle.

I finally departed Walmart at 7: 15PM.
Nearly 5 hours waiting to get a professional service completed that I paid for!

What if I didn’t insist that the problem needed to be inspected and I drove off with a nail in the tire?

What if the tire failed because the repair was not done and this caused me to have an accident?

I cannot explain how disappointed I am that Walmart would allow their employees to get into a predicament like this because of apparent staff shortage, which inevitably puts the customers at risk.

I am going to have to spend MY time now, finding another Walmart to go to so I can confirm that this work has been completed on my vehicle.

They never have time for any services. And always blame it on short staffing.

Shame on management for not being competent enough to run the department.

Ungodly understaffed, makes for the shop costing you most of an afternoon (6 hours total for one tire, 2+ hours in the garage) while they push 1 car out an hour with an unremarkable customer load. I hope their training of newbies goes well, that people come to work, that managers schedule workers more considerately, etc.whatever the problem was! Lastly, my steering wheel was left covered in soot type material, layer after layer of wipes to remove.

So I have tried 4 times in a row to service my truck. Two attempts at a flat repair and two attempts to get my oil changed. So the first time I was told they couldn’t get to it because they were short at they close in 2 hours. The 2nd time was gonna be over a 2 hour wait because they were short. The 3rd time it was going to be over a 2 hour wait because they were short, and then today, no one ever even came out to check me in even though 2 automotive guys were standing outside. So I was tired to the “we are short” pity party and went to the Ocean Springs Walmart about 15 minutes away and their lube stalls were closed for remodel. I mean, how hard do I have to try to give you my business. I currently need 2 oil changes and 2 tires fixed. I guess I’ll give someone else the business.

Flat tire repaired. They got me in and out very quickly and the repair is not leaking. They did say that they would re-mount my spare tire underneath my car, but did not do that.

I gave two stars because they got my tires done and everything seems to be alright. It did however take them over 2 hours to get my tires on and one of my rims are scratched up bad… they also told me at checkout that all 4 tires pressure would be at 35… the front two were at 42 and the back two at 38.but that’s not a huge issue. The biggest issue is my mom had an appointment scheduled right after mine, and they broke two of her lug nuts bad and then came inside and told her they were put on way too tightly and they couldn’t get them off. So they loaded up the 4 tires into the back of her car, and let her leave… she then took her car up to southern tire mart off Shriners, and the guy came out to let her know that every single nut came right off, so either they didn’t even try at Walmart or they didn’t have the proper machine to get them off… I’m betting on they didn’t even try.the only reason I gave 2 stars and not one is because they did what I needed to on my actual services… it’s absolutely insane what we dealt with this morning. I purchased 4 tires and scheduled an app. To have them put on they literally took 10 minutes and came out and said the lug nuts were over torque and they couldn’t change any. I brought it to a tire shop and they checked all lug nuts and none were stuck, but Walmart broke 2 lug nut caps off. DO NOT USE THEM!

A horrible experience. Brought in two alloy trailer wheels to have tires replaced. I had an appointment at noon and at 3 pm they had not touched the wheels yet. They then rushed when I asked what was taking so long. One of the rims was severely gouged on the inside from them rushing the job. The techs failed to let me know and just put the wheels outside for me to pick up hoping that I would not notice. I brought it to their attention and they began a claim. They informed me that the claims department would contact me in 48 hours. I had to to do several follow ups with them several days later because no one would contact me. I was then offered several ridiculous options that incompassed my time and initial expense. The offers were from one of their techs. The management, at any level, never contacted me. I refused the initial offers. They know offered for me to buy a new wheel at my expense and then they will reimburse me. Again, at my time and expense. Unacceptable.

Had an appointment to install new tires. Pulled up to the tire center. Wasn't greeted for almost 20 minutes into my appointment time. I asked the tire center manager, about how long would installation take. He stated, he was unsure & that it's like going to the ER, you don't really know. Staff is working on several things. (Made no sense at all). I have an appointment. You can't tell me how long installation takes from start to finish. Also, why would you work on my car, then jump to another car before completing the job your on? Anyways, not only that. Took the boy 2 hours to change my tires. 70% of the time he was working on my car, he was watching me! Lastly, the young Caucasian girl at the tire center counter has a bad attitude & is unhelpful. The manager who is in the back office there doesn't seem to know what he is doing either. I paid for my tires online. Needed to only pay for the service. He was unengaging and hardly made eye contact when I spoke to him. Overall, I wouldn't go back to have ANYTHING done at the tire center unless it was absolutely the last resort! Work on your staff & professionalism. I'm sure you pay them well enough to be decent to customers & get the job done in a timely manner. It truly wasn't a busy day & there were more than 5 people on staff in the garage & 2 at the counter in addition to 2 managers.

Verify what you actually need done, the writer didn't put the job in right, had to wait longer for the tech to redo part of the job, tech did good work though
