I order oxtail for the 2nd time around too make sure it wasn’t a bad day but this 2nd time it’s the same but worse it taste like spaghetti and meatballs from the can and the beans taste like tomato sauce no flavor of a typical Cuban culture, who ever is the chef he or she needs to be replaced oxtail shouldn’t taste like spaghetti and meatballs from a can mind you I haven’t had a can spaghetti for 7 years and the flavor is disgusting. I doubt that Cubans cook this way y’all better spice it up with herbs and Cuban flavor!

As always, Cuban Petes delivers on their promise of authentic Cuban food, prepared for the masses. You walk down the narrow path towards the entrance and you are greeted by welcoming latin music. The restaurant is fully open for business - indoor and outdoors. Not knowing that, we ordered directly from the website as a large pick up order. Black bean soup - to die for, churrasco skirt steak, mango salmon, oxtail - each served with white rice and maduros (sweet plantain) - a fried whole fish, empanadas and a few other plates. Friendly staff helped to carry the order to the car.

This place is always so busy but with that being said they really do a wonderful job even though it's always crowded they still manage to keep things running smooth

Ehhh the owner has napoleon syndrome! He was walking around with no mask on. And if you asked how long you have to wait he tacks on more time to your wait time.

Always a Latin charm. The vibes and the delicious flavors never ever dissapoint. I have been coming here for years and it's consistent.

Everything about this Spanish joint is out standing. Extremely great quality. Customer Service is quick and advanced. They meet all needs with friendly hospitality

All I have to say amazing! The food is amazing there are so many great options from vegan to healthy to fatty if you want it's perfect for a pizzeria.

No social distancing when we went there to eat last week. They also were sitting people to capacity, some Staffs weren't also wearing their mask also.

Definitely I give it a five stars food is great and so is the drinks just don’t over order very filling food, but it’s always good to have leftovers

Cuban Pete's was very good. First time here and it did not disappoint. Food was great and our server Daniel was awesome. Ambiance and music were welcoming. We will be back.

This place was GREAT. You walk into this place and it completely immerses you in the culture and color of Cuba. From the decorations to the music, to the HUGE food platters this place has it all. If you’re walking around downtown Montclair and you want to have a fun this is definitely a place to stop. I’ll most certainly be coming back here

This is definitely something different from any other Cuban restaurant I’ve ever tried. I’m Cuban born and raised, yet, this restaurant has a different style (and different seasoning). In my opinion it was good. Not the best I’ve ever tried but good to try one day with family!

Let me start by saying this restaurant was my go to place to celebrate birthdays. Last night I came back after a few years. I was so disappointed with the quality of the food! The goat cheese fritters, that used to be fluffy and flavorful, were hard and definitely not fresh. Beans tasted like they were served straight from a can. The grilled chicken breast was way too thick and uncooked. There was a waiter that kept literally running very close to our table, which made us feel uncomfortable. The music was really loud, which caused everyone to talk even louder, and you can imagine the result. After reading all the recent 1 star reviews today, I see my perception was not off. Unfortunately, I'm not coming back and I will stick to Rincón Criollo in Queens, NYC.

Owner is really down to earth. I have been coming here for years and it gets better over time. The only issue I have is how cold it was when we were there. Put more heaters in winter!

Amazing place! Food it’s delicious and the waiter was friendly and service was pretty fast! The lechon asado is GREAT! And the guava empanadas were the perfect dessert with cortadito. I do recommend this place.
