George Washington Memorial Parkway First Overlook reviews
15Overlook Fletcher's Cove and part of the Potomac, but foliage can obstruct the view at times.
Beautiful place to stop and view activities along Potomac including air traffic over Washington. Interesting and beautiful overview of area. Worth the stop.
I love that they have these little scenic stops on the side of the road overlooking everything. It was beautiful. It could be serene if you happen to be by yourself. Can’t wait to get my camera to take better pics
Beautiful drive from Tysons/McLean to Washington DC. Scenic views are nice. Road surface need improvement. Can see the monument from the scenic view spot.
It's Gorgeous, you can see clear across the Potomac. Makes for and awesome pictures with friends and family. Standing close to the edge can scare you if you are afraid of Heights, remember everyone you are at 1000FT drop. So be extremely careful when getting out your car and looking around good in the Daytime use extreme caution.
Do yourself a favor and detour to this scenic spot to take a few pictures. You will not be disappointed.
If you have a minute to stop and enjoy the journey, I recommend it! The view was stunningly beautiful in the golden hour before sunset. In the winter, the different colors of bark on the trees is striking and shows off the contrasting structures of several species of trees.
Best place in wheaton. One of my favorite restaurants in the area. The princess chicken is one of my favorite dish from there
I could've stayed here for hours, reading & looking at everything. Gorgeous place and makes me want to go kayaking on the water!
Nice place to stop and see the river! There is another stop just a little bit further up the road from this one also.
Good place but people have thrown lot of trash. I seen dirty diapers and beer cans. Some visitors are a mess.
Wonderful location to get a glimpse of DC. And great place to scratch legs, unfortunately there a lot trash.
Nice pull off to get out of the car and walk around with views of the river and distant monuments in the skyline
Walked going on 15 miles to adjoining Potomac Heritage Trail and added photos gDrug suggested here. Exhaust from cars, water pollution, raw sewage smell and a woman screamed (idk maybe her dog going towards me or being attacked, I had been taking a nap to rest enough to climb out of my own power) on Sunday March 21st in the afternoon. Two fishing guys below me. I ended up retching/dry heaving likely overexertion or pollutants, heat, etc. Y (MKm) MV Be CareFul, bring a buddy, dog, plenty of fluids, cell phone with GPS, they call the hike Technical, and certainly not accessible wheelchair wise, but I'm disabled in other ways and made it to there. Luckily not flown out nor dredged/trawled, helicopter went by too, so think they were looking for something/one maybe Saturday night missing/suicide, or kayaker, idk.
I drove in Georgetown, after McDonald's of Arlington Virginia, and I want to know why you are asking me about George Washington Memorial,? If I not was there, what is this?
