Modera Tempo Apartments, Alexandria VA

My motorcycle was stolen from the "secure garage" only security cameras on exits none in the main parking loby, ive been living here for 4 months now, never seen security anywhere besides at the desk, was told by the front office after 1am no one is doing rounds on the property, ive personally seen people smoking pot in the garage, people smoke cigarettes on the side walks and balconys all the time in this "smoke free" property. Rules are not enforced, people park here to goto the bar across the street during the weekend and it gets loud here when they let out. I DO NOT recommend this place if you care about your vehicles police told me this isn't the first time and the front office seems to have little to no plans on increasing security measures, they just send out the same message "we asked for police to patrol the area more" every time something happends no real solution to issues they continue to have. Other than that, units are great, clean and of quality i loved the place untill all of the security issues that's why it's 2 stars and not 0 I'm in the process of moving my other collectors vehicles from the property due to lack of trust in the safety of my belongings will not be renewing my lease.

The apartment building itself is nice, and has good anemities. However, the people that live here aren't very nice or neighborly. Most people will ignore you when you say hello or not even make eye contact with you. There are 2 nightclubs located right across the street and they make noise with loud music and people shouting in the parking lot until 2 or 3 am. The area is not very walkable either. However, there is a nice neighborhood with a nice park about a 3 minute drive away. Also, when my upper apartment neighbors walk around I can hear their footsteps like they were in my living room. Overall it is ok, I am upset that the concierge recommended me the room I am in without mentioning anything about the nightclubs across the street, that was kind of shady.

The location is extremely convenient. I love that I can order Starbucks and walk downstairs to get it. There are places to buy groceries within walking distance. Plenty of public transit conveniently located and a shuttle will take you to the metro less than 1/2 mile away. The apartments are very well insulated. It’s 40 degrees out and I haven’t had to turn on the heat. I actually had to open the window. My side of the building is extremely noisy due to the shopping center and the bar that’s there. It seems people who love loud vehicles like to frequent this location. Nothing the complex can control but maybe request something the faces the courtyard if you’re noise averse.

I am a resident here and I received an email asking to move my truck because it was opening the garage door being parked too close to it. I told them I would move it as soon as I got
Home and once I got home it was already towed. Very uncalled for and inappropriate for a resident

We just recently moved to our new home. We loved? So far. I enjoyed the facilities, the area and our apartment. Lisa took care about my application and she answered all my questions. Thanks

The worse experience you can have at a so called Lucy community. First off they have a adult day care situation in my building definitely can’t be legal. The very first day I moved to the building someone broke into my car in the overly priced parking garage. I pay for two not one parking spot and still somehow managed to get my car towed. In encounter you have with the leasing office you are in the wrong I recommend going somewhere cheaper and with less hassle.

Don’t waste your money at this apartment complex. People are constantly smoking in their apartment, patios, garage, stairways and outside the buildings even though it’s a non-smoking apartment. People don’t pick up after their pets. Dumpsters are overflowing with trash. The elevators have expired permits. The mail room is a mess and have had my packages stolen. The list goes on and on.

Had mice in my apartment and the maintenance supervisor is very rude & unprofessional! Don't live here!

Although I am an owner of a home. I love the new construction to the neighborhood bring more respectable retail and more people to the great west Alexandria neighborhood.

. I called in regards to leasing a property, wasn't a pleasant experience. The phone call was so disrespectful, that I no longer was interested in leasing an apartment at Modera Temp.

My husband and I have lived here a year now with few if any problems. The management staff is kind and remembers us. Our one major maintenance incident was resolved very quickly and by the most friendly staff. We find ourselves fortunate to have found this place.

I’ve lived at Modera Tempo since 2015 so I’ve seen a lot of foolishness. When I first moved in the management staff was fantastic, but now, the management staff SUCKS and I can't wait until my lease expires. Kristen Janecke lacks knowledge about procedure and protocol, so she was not helpful. Maybe she needs more training or needs to check packages in and out.

The insulation between units is paper thin, so if you move in you’re playing “Russian Roulette” with your privacy. Trust me, my new neighbor snores like a grizzly bear hibernating resulting in restless nights. His wife spends her days gossiping about their marital problems, so working from home is extremely difficult if you’re seeking a quiet environment. So take heed, if you move here be careful what you say because your neighbor will hear everything.

The cleaning crew is very friendly and work extremely hard cleaning pet poop from the elevators, picking up trash thrown in the garage from tenants cleaning out their cars and wiping up vomit from the hallway carpet after tenants that didn't have the decency to clean up after themselves.

I haven't had any problems with maintenance. All issues were satisfied in a timely manner.

Would I recommend Modera Tempo? Heck NO. Privacy is very important and after speaking to other tenants in the elevators, they aren't renewing their lease either. WOW!

FYI. You have to pay to have a guess come visit. Yes, it cost $5 a night to park or their car will be towed. When guess come over, pull out a tablet and write because if not your neighbors will hear everything.

DO NOT RENT from Modera Tempo it is by far the smelliest and noisiest place ive ever lived. It located on the very busy and traffic conjested van dorn road. The co located businesses below have restocking trucks and workers loading and uloading all night long and are very loud. The walls are SUPER SLIM with poor ventilation. I would literally come home from work everyday and want to throw up from everybodies cooking and garbage laying in the hallway. As for parking there is poor parking space available and for the residents and customers of local businesses. As for schools it is located in alexandria city limits instead of fairfax county so your kids eill have to get on a waitlist to enter the not so good samual tucker elementary. There are no parks nearby as it is located in a industrial area of Alexandria. The managment and staff are absolutely horrible (except for Lisa). When you get your lease agreement you will see that it is over 30 pages long on how it is one sided and totally in there favor (most leases are 4-8 pages max). They will find a way to get the best of you.for example a lease is usually 12 months they will get you for 13.when you move out they will find a way to charge you for something and report you to collections. I was told i had a zero balance when i moved out and i even confirmed it with there website.a year later im nust now getting calls from collection agency for who knows what.as for pool tbey advertise they have 2 pools.they are not pools.they are waiti g pools that are only 2 to 3 ft deep. DO NOT RESIDE at modera tempo even if they sucker you in with 2 months fred rent. It is not worth it.i would recommend looking into someting cheaper and bigger down the road to the south in fairfax county or even a home for the same cost.
