Sonia Kapoor, MD reviews
5Dr. Kapoor is very straightforward and doesn't sugar coat anything. I almost left her to find a new practitioner after my first visit or two, but then realized she was what I needed to get my health in order.
I have had this doctor for over a decade. I have no issue with the doctor but with the way the office is ran. You get treated like a number. Too many times to count have I been told by one nurse that my prescription refill was sent to the pharmacy for me to wait until work is over to go pick it up only to find the prescription was denied by the doctor's office. Now I call and have to wait for a call back to then have a new nurse act like they told me the whole time that I needed a follow-up appointment to get my prescription refilled which then required multiple days wait to get all while I am out of my prescription. The show no concern for me being without my prescription. Again, this is just one example of tremendously inconsistent communication and outright lies from this office. I originally thought it was my pharmacy, so I changed pharmacies only to have the same issue. I finally had enough and complained only for the nurse to not care and act clueless. When threatening to find a new doctor they simply said ok. Never once was there any attempt to make me feel better, understand the situation, or find a resolution. I have had multiple times where a denial was sent to then be called an hour later that a new approval was sent and my prescription was being filled. It is a shame as the doctor has always been kind and visits have been pleasant and timely, but the way the office is run is beyond frustrating. Luckily I can use a teledoc to maintain my prescription while I search for another primary care physician. Again, this is an issue with the office and not so much the doctor.
I have been a patient of Dr Sonia Kapoor since 2010. She’s efficient, patient.and a great listener! She doesn’t push pills on you or unnecessary procedures. She makes me feel comfortable with my health In her hands.
I honestly still can’t believe this happened but it did, I had a visit with Dr Kapoor last Friday to be seen for lingering symptoms of covid, I was already 24 days into “ long haul covid lingering symptoms “ and also dealing with severe vertigo, she completely dismissed and didn’t even want to hear about my symptoms and once she found out I had not been vaccinated yet (I had set up an appointment to be vaccinated and than got covid) she immediately said for me to leave and that she would never treat me, I believe this is unethical, unprofessional and cruel, she opened the door and without even saying goodbye just kept walking, I was shocked by her behavior, I spoke to my insurance company and I currently have a call into the office manger, it saddens me that doctors take an oath to provide care for all in need and are able to to just walk away from their patient as she did to me, is this what that medical field has become?
I’ve recently had my first shot of my vaccination and had adverse reactions afterwards, ultimately having extremely bad problems sleeping. I also had experiencing chills, running a fever and bad sinus congestion. But my main issue was not being able to sleep, a lot of the times not at all, just rolling around all night, as I’m writing this at 4am. Not ever having experienced any sleeping issues it concerns me. Especially after having the vaccination. It has got to the point where I’ve missed multiple days of work and ultimately needed paperwork filled out for FMLA. Dr. Sonia Kapoor refused to fill out my paperwork, because what I’m experiencing isn’t “severe” enough for her, and I’m not an “amputee” and I don’t “diabetes”. Her words. I’m not dismissing anyone else’s health or mental issues, but mine shouldn’t be minimized either, especially if you not me. I can’t even get her to write me a “return to work note” smh, since I’m tryin to at least return to work to see how I feel having been out, which is sad. I would never refer her to anyone at all. She is not empathetic or sympathetic at all, and dealing with her only has made my situation that much more stressful. If I could rate zero I would.
