I love learning with Bill. I have been taking lessons now for just over two years, and my pronunciation and structural understanding have greatly improved! Bill is particularly good at providing feedback and providing tips that help you learn outside your lessons. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who's serious about learning a second language.

Bill is about as good as it gets. He takes language learning seriously and creates a fun but focused environment where real progress is made to truly master this language. He is incredibly organized and his system for approaching the language is extremely efficient and simple. I have loved learning from him. Truly, this is (one of) his gifts. Thanks Bill!

I've been learning on my own and through school off and on for years now, but I've learned more with Bill Savage in less than a year than all my other education combined. He has a super unique teaching pedagogy that has been perfected over the years to teach Romance languages from an English perspective. I have been taking lessons with Bill for a year now. I can’t recommend his teaching enough. I have taken language classes throughout my life, including Italian from another instructor before Bill, and his methods are fantastic. Sometimes language instructors can be overwhelming or erratic with how they progress. Bill teaches very clearly each week, the homework is based only on that, and each week builds on the next. Bill doesn’t just teach phrases you memorize he helps you understand the language in an empowering way. You won’t be disappointed with Bill’s teaching. Bill Savage is the best language teacher in the world! He teaches both me and my mom - she was an absolute beginner and I have had several years of language learning in my past. I've been amazed time and time again by his ability to adapt to my needs as someone who's already part-way through their learning journey, as well as amazed by how well my mom has been doing learning from him. Let's just say she went from absolute zero to having a general grasp on the whole language in basically no time! Every lesson and homework is personalized to each student, and Bill has a plethora of tricks and resources he has created throughout the years that you can't find ANYWHERE else, not to mention stories and anecdotes about the language and culture. He makes it feel like there's a history/latin class mixed in as an epic bonus, and it really does support your memory and learning of the language. It's AWESOME. So ditch your Duolingo or Rosetta Stone and get ready to laugh and learn with the best of the best, Mr. Bill Savage!

I have been a student of Bill’s for the past ten months and have thoroughly enjoyed learning from him! He makes the lessons very fun and easy to digest and also personalizes every class and homework assignment. You can tell he has such a love of teaching and languages, it really makes learning from him so enjoyable. He’s also available outside of the classroom if you need help which I really appreciate. I have never felt closer to my goal! I highly recommend him as a teacher:)

Well past year two of my time for learning with Bill. I have stayed committed and continue to grow in confidence and, at the risk of overstating my abilities, skill. The pandemic has led to ongoing virtual interactions which has benefitted us both: me, as it allows so much flexibility to engage from where ever I happen to be, and for Bill, it seems to have opened up the world to him, including students from everywhere. This has translated to an even more proficient teaching style adapted to virtual learning and an ease and confidence in front of his camera that really suits him and it works very well. On to year three!

I started taking lessons from Bill Savage a year ago during my last year in the Navy to prepare myself for college. I wanted to be able to study abroad and learn as much as I could. Starting from scratch his teaching methods were very easy and intuitive to follow. I am now preparing to spend a semester in Europe and I feel well prepared for what is to come. I highly recommend Bill Savage as a teacher!

Bill does a marvelous job of tailoring the content to his student's needs and goals, meaning you don't waste time covering redundant or unnecessary information. He has a wonderful grasp of language and the evolution of words and phrases, which allows him to present concepts and vocabulary in a memorable and interesting way. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning from Bill and recommend him highly.

I took Italian lessons with Bill for 6 months to prepare for a trip to Italy and learned everything I needed to get by during my time abroad. Bill is super organized and reliable, he individualizes instruction, customizes homework for each lesson, and is always available and quick to respond to any questions. He has incredible knowledge of the language and you will not only be able to converse with a host of verbs in your arsenal but will have a thorough understanding of the grammar behind it all. The volume of functional language I learned with Bill far exceeds any other app or lesson I've tried in the past.  I highly recommend Bill for language lessons!

Bill's one of those rare teachers with the gift of understanding a student's optimal learning style and catering the class and homework to make the student successful and constantly motivated. I've never learned anything in a private setting before and Bill makes learning Italian feel downright luxurious. The speed of the coursework is set specifically for me, the homework itself, for me and each session feels like we're making weeks of progress in a day. I've been subscribed to a few Italian instagram channels for a while before starting these lessons and after a few months with Bill, I realized I was no longer reading the English translations:). I highly recommend working with Bill if you're interested in working on your Italian or French.

My husband and I began weekly Italian lessons with Bill Savage 10 months ago as complete beginners. Learning languages has always been very hard for me, but Bill had me speaking full Italian sentences after just one lesson! He uses a building block technique that makes it easy to begin constructing sentences right away. With each additional lesson I have learned more building blocks that I can use to form more, and longer, Italian sentences. After only 8 months of one time a week lessons, I was able to write and read a multiple paragraph essay in Italian! His lessons are individualized for us, and in between lessons he creates specific homework for us to practice our growing skills. He is always available via text and email to answer any questions we have about the homework. I look forward to our lessons each week. His method is fun, engaging and confidence building, all things that are essential for me to learn a foreign language. I can't wait to try out my new language skills on my next trip to Italy. I highly recommend him as a teacher.
