Restore Public House reviews
15Small resturant with limited menu options that are all excellently prepared. Menu changes frequently so no concern with lack of variety. Entrees include a few pasta, seafood and meat dishes. Usually no vegetarian option but will accommodate by subtracting meat/fish from any entree. Servers are knowledgeable, well trained (properly open a bottle of wine) and friendly. Service is efficient but not rushed.
Food was good. A little pricey and potions were on the small side. Great staff and a really cute place!
Wow, finally I found a restaurant doing truly good food here in La Crosse. Very good cocktail to start; the kimchi & cream cheese wontons were delicious (be sure to use the sauce to balance the flavors) ; the spaghetti w shrimp & n'duja was beautiful in balance and execution and the prosecco rose was a great pairing for it. My faith in La Crosse dining has been restored.
Can we take a moment and talk about this amazing wine pairing dinner! It was a very pleasant experience.
My favorite restaurant ever! Posting a review just in hopes they never take the scallops off the menu. Great service and gorgeous atmosphere. Perfect for a date night or celebration.
I heard nothing but great things about the RPH burger and the whole menu so had to try it out. It was incredible and highly recommend!
Amazing, the food was some of the best we have ever had, and the atmosphere was really cool. In La Crosse Friday for a tour of UW-L and our family of 4 had dinner Friday evening on a recommendation from a co-worker. We ordered 2 appetizers to share and they both had us battling for more. My steak was perfect. My wife said her Curry Turkey Leg was one of the best items she has every had in her life. Chef John stopped out to say hi and chat about the dishes which my 2 kids thought was really fun. A great experience and can not wait to stop back for another dinner.
The food was absolutely amazing. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, and the dishes are SO well thought out. Absolutely decadent meals, and wonderful service.
Smoked pork chops outstanding. Sea bass also outstanding! Great server and vibe. Creative drinks. Really nice outdoor patio. If you haven’t been here yet, gotta go!
Food was very good. We had their fried cauliflower as an app, went nicely with the garlic aoili and chili oil. My smash burger with duck fat potato wedges were delicious (could have easily eaten more if the potatoes) and wife enjoyed her rigatoni dish with enough for leftovers the next day. Only issue I had was with the lack of urgency amongst staff. We were in on a Sunday only 3 other tables, and each time it was least 10 minutes from when a drink was requested til it reached the table. But overall a very pleasant experience
Drove down from Edina to Viroqua's Historic Temple Theater to catch Glenn Miller Orchestra and stopped at Restore Publuc House for a quite divine dinner. Exceptional rigatonni with marscapone, to die for and perfect fresh salad. I would return in a heart beat.
Our first experience at Restore came after a recommendation from an acqauintence. I was told it was "the best burger in town and served with potato wedges cooked in duck fat". That sounded great to me. You had me at duck fat.
We were seated indoors and were happy for it as it was pretty hot outside. The atmosphere was nice but casual. Our server was quite knowledgeable and the menu went beyond simple burgers: there was something for all tastes which included starters, pasta dishes, seafood, steaks and salads. All are prepared locally sourced ingredients. The drink menu is impressive with some great beers, wines and cocktails.
We stayed true to our plan which was burgers and beers, but not before being made aware of a starter that was featured, but not on the menu. It was Sockeye Salmon combined with all kinds of goodness (it was quite an advanced dish) and served on a freshly made slice of bread. First bite.my eyes must have rolled back in my head.it was so delicious! But, I digress, back to the burger and fries. Soòoo good. You know how when you see an ad for a burger and it looks so monumental and perfect - double stacked with a little bit of everything coming out the sides. That burger exists at Restore and looks even more monumental in real life, plus it's all homemade including the pickles! Yum.
The wedges? Come on they're made in duck fat.take my money.
Should you go?
Why haven't you left yet?
Get yourself there!
I dined at RPH last week when my significant other from Thailand was visiting. I had the Salmon and he had the Ribeye both were absolutely spectacular. We had a wonderfully charismatic fine young blonde gentleman as our server, and we wish we could have taken him home with our leftovers. Would come back every night if we could afford it:)
Awesome bourbon and beer list with outstanding food. One of my favorite spots for a date night or weekday escape. Been coming here since the start and they keep getting better.
My wife and I dined at Restore Public House for Father's Day. I had the ribeye and my wife had the Copper River salmon. Both dishes were superb! Wonderfully seasoned and cooked to perfection. The salads were also delightfully delicious.
Our server was very helpful, cordial and attentive. We love this place and will be back for more!
