Academic Urology and Urogynecology of Arizona reviews
14Dr. Devakumar always takes her time and answers all my questions, she is very thorough. Her staff are always very pleasant.
They were very caring, on time and answered any questions I had. The follow has been wonderful.
My entire visit went very well. Appointment was on time, procedure was well explained prior to the appointment, and during procedure Dr. Devakumar kept me informed of what was seen and being done.
Prompt at starting, evaluation was direct and to the point. Directions were specific. Overall I felt it was worthwhile.
Everything I have an appointment I have to wait 45min to an hour to be seen. Messes me up when I have multiple appointment.
I give the medical staff, Dr Devakumar and the receptionist checking in patients a 10, they were excellent, no complaints there. Had to wait in the examine room awhile, but figured it’s because the doctor is giving each patient the quality time they deserve, so had no problem with waiting. This was the Sun City office on 103rd Ave.
I give the young lady checking patients out a 1, she was slow, didn’t seem to quite know what she was doing and definitely not very personable. I left and decided to go to the Litchfield office to schedule my follow ups, two others behind me, also said they would call in and schedule, there was 5 patients waiting to check out, 3 of us got frustrated and left. I went to the Litchfield office and made my follow up appointments and took less than 4 minutes the young lady there was on top of things and definitely knew her job well. She did it all with a pleasant disposition.
This location is horrible. We arrived at 7: 30, for an 8am appointment, and did not leave until 10.
We saw Dr Stern for a total of 5 minutes.
Wonderful doctor and practice. Dr. Devakumar is professional, caring, knowledgeable and has an incredible compassionate and upbeat manner. Staff is also knowledgeable, hard-working and so helpful. Happy I found this office and will continue going here. Highly recommend!
Everything went well. Not too much discomfort. The Dr took her time and explained everything in detail.
I am a new patient with Academic Urology. From the start of setting up my appointment through the appointment itself every aspect went smoothly and every person I dealt with was so professional and nice to deal with. My questions were answered and I never felt rushed through. What a positive experience compared to a different Urology group I was moving on from.

Re: Patient Angela, 8am appointment, Jan 16,2023.
I have two reasons for submitting this feedback on behalf of patient Angela. My name is Anthony, I am appointed as the General and Medical Attorney-in-Fact for Angela. First, Angela was very pleased with the PA, Mary, who performed a brief medical procedure. Angela said that Mary was respectful, answered questions politely, and exhibited a caring attitude.
My second reason for writing concerns how we were treated by Academic's front office staff, one employee in particular. Angela's experience with the front office employee left her feeling as if she was a mere interruption of the employee's office work.
Angela and I entered the lobby of your office about 7: 45 a.m. The morning of Jan 16th, 2023. We entered and stood at the front counter in silence while the office employee was busy shuffling a stack of papers. She did not look up, make eye contact, or greet Angela in any way. After finishing with her papers, she finally said, "Sign in here", without even looking at either one of us. Angela signed in, began to mention something about her insurance, and the curt reply was, "I don't need that". Then Angela and I sat down in the lobby and waited. Two other patients entered the lobby, they stood in front of the counter, and received the same indifferent service. No greeting, or acknowledgments whatsoever.
Shortly after 8: 00 a.m, the PA opened the main office door, and led Angela to an examination room. After Angela left, I approached the front counter, stood in front of the staff employee, and politely asked her, "May I have your name, please? " Without looking at me, she said, "Is there a reason why? " My reply was, "I'll take that as you refuse to give me your name". She again asked me why I wanted her name, and I told her I like to write customer service surveys. There was another pause, and I finally said, "Are you going to answer my question, or not? " Then I received a condescending reply from her, (I will omit her name) she slowly spelled out the letters of her first name and, then turned her back on me.
Is this an acceptable way to treat a patient, or a guest? How would you feel, if you, or a family member was treated this way at a professional office? This kind of abrupt, rude treatment is not what we are paying for.
If you wish to discuss further details, please leave a contact number or email, and I will reply to you. Thank you.

It has been over a week since my original post. I have yet to receive the courtesy of a reply.
Th procedure with Dr LaTowsky was done quickly and thoroughly.
I left with a good understanding of my situation.
Excellent care from the pa but didn't see the doctor. My husband is the patient he wrote this.
