ADERO Scottsdale Resort, Autograph Collection reviews
19 Major Mixed Feeling about this place. We went here for Valentines day and enjoyed a wonderful Dinner. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing. Our waitress was one of the best I have ever had.
That said I am giving a low review because I spent two hours trying to figure out why I was being randomly charged by them 2 months later. Turns out they didn't process my card right away and now 2 months later someone decided to just hit the charge button.
I thought my bank was hacked. The headache cause by this has left me with a major negative taste now. Who waits 2 months to charge a card at a restaurant? That's just unacceptable.
This resort is in a very beautiful and safe area. I loved waking up to views it has to offer. The gym is also really good. Loads of machines and weights and plenty of space to workout in. The reason for the 3 stars was service. I really thought it was lacking. At the pool, once in a blue moon you would have someone come to ask for an order but not to everyone… I was asked only once but didn’t even receive what I asked for and I spent 5 of my 8 days at the resort at the pool for some hours. The spa unfortunately brought more stress/ disappointment than relaxation. I had to have 2 of the 4 services I wanted canceled after I booked in person with them and the last service that was canceled, they tried to charge me full price for not showing up when they had made the mistake of booking the appointment on the wrong day and tried diligently to blame me for their mistake. This place has the potential to be amazing and I hope others had and will have a much more fulfilling and relaxing time than I had.
Amazing, not too known hotel! Very clean and friendly environment. Great rooms and great views! Definitely will be back!
Beautiful resort with an exceptional view. Staff was friendly and services was exceptional. The room was comfortable and amazing sunset and sky views.
Wonderful, quiet resort. The facilities are first rate, and the spa provided my wife with the best massage she’s ever had.
The manager at the front desk was extremely accommodating.
I will be back.
Horrible. You've been warned. I was disappointed on so many levels by this hotel.
The marketing is totally misleading. I thought I'd be arriving to a hotel outside of the city, Dark Sky Community where I could see the stars in a way I can't from home, from my beautiful balcony or patio, with access to heated pools and top rated restaurants.
Well, my patio was ground floor with views of the parking lot. The sky had more light pollution than where I live (just outside of NYC), the food was horrible, service worse, and the adult pool was an ice plunge.
They also charge 25 for self parking in an open, unmonitored lot. No security at all for hotel access (all doors were unlocked at all hours).
Housekeeping was not great and I had to ask every day why they hadn't come by 430/5pm after being out of the room the entire day and having opted in for the service.
I tried on multiple occasions to let the team know about some troubles during my stay, they couldn't seem to care less.
I finally received an email that offered 10k points for my troubles. Poor gesture, especially given my elite status with Marriott.
The view was beautiful and the facial at the spa was divine, but that's the best I can do in terms of compliments.
If you like seclusion and no connection to the staff, you'll like this resort, but don't expect anything to be complimentary. Even the 2 drink coupons at check-in do not cover the cost of a drink and don't bother with the 1 restaurant at this place it's overpriced and small portions of nothing special bland food and bad service. Our room was large, but there was not enough storage, cabinets, or chairs to accommodate our 8-day stay. The view of the mountains and grounds was pretty, but you need to be okay with seeing the parking lot and hearing the picke ball players first thing in the morning. I would not return to this overly priced resort.
What a disappointing experience this was.the front desk staff was oddly discourteous, you have to ask the valet for change before giving them a tip (yeah, that's not weird at all), and the food in the restaurant was not in line with the prices. While the views are lovely, I'll definitely find somewhere else to stay the next time I'm in Scottsdale.
Lovely setting and friendly staff! The gym is well-equipped, clean and adjacent to a spa. Towels for working out and glass windows to look at the lovely scenery.
Based on stories from my friends that were staying there, I wanted to see for myself. Yes everything they said was true. This place has a lot of potential, they need to learn how to treat some people a bit better. They made their reservation weeks ago, and they still put them in a handicap room, these are very tall people. They made the situation uncomfortable, they didn’t even have places to put their luggage. The water ran out of the shower off the floor, they had to lay a dam of towels down. Yes, they had a dog, and they are grateful for the dog friendly hotel, but because of that it was very difficult for them to get their room cleaned. Their room was nice and big and out to her patio. Views were incredible, close to hiking trails. We met them for dinner one night for a fantastic meal, but we also learned that the smell of sewer permeated the hotel. The worst.
Not sure if I’d recommend!
We arrived after booking an 8 day stay through Southwest/Hotel App. In spite of having received confirmation of the booking, they didn't have the room reservation @ arrival. The front desk manager initially had us changing rooms after one night but based on how that news was received, she eventually got us in a permanent room and even provided an upgrade for the trouble. Views were really nice, but the service is a little lacking. We never really received a good welcome or orientation to the resort. Did not find the staff to be naturally accommodating. When calling the front desk to ask anything i felt i was imposing. Seems like they are overworked, and everyone seemed a bit edgy. We ate at the Cielo restaurant and I was not impressed as my steak was overcooked and overpriced. The resort is however very clean with beautiful artwork though out and housekeeping were on their game with daily room clean up.
Honest opinion is this is just a prettier Courtyard property. Check-in was rushed, felt like any other 3 star hotel (although the champagne was a nice touch).
- Whirlpool is a small rock outdoor waterfall basin, which was closed/out of order
- Lights in our hallway constantly flickered (think Twilight zone)
- 1 elevator was out of order and wait times especially high
- 1 bartender was preoccupied and had to be reminded 3 times to close out our tab (other 2 were friendly and prompt)
- One day had a strong sewer smell throughout our hallway
Just don’t feel like we nearly got the value for our dollar here, certainly not worth the price we paid and wouldn’t return. Note that it’s about 30min away from Old Town Scottsdale. Gabe was really great in the downstairs cafe.
Very disappointed! My kids accidentally left their two stuffed animals behind when we departed the hotel for an early flight… I called the hotel at 5: 00 AM letting them know to please look for them. NOPE! The lady at the front desk said to log a ticket with an external service and if they found them they would let me know… No surprise we have never heard back. The art work in the hotel room randomly fell off the wall. The one meal we had at the hotel restaurant the burger only came out with half of the ingredients… they said they were out of the sauces it came with… for the price we paid… I was super disappointed… the only good thing was the view.
This Marriott Autograph collection property is just stunning, artfully crafted and a peaceful oasis hidden in Scottsdale for a perfect Arizona experience. Even though the Adero is hidden away from central/oldtown Scottsdale it’s worth the extra driving miles. There are tons of onsite amenities and indoor/outdoor activities offered as well. There is a Target, Denny’s a gas station an a few other places about a mile or so away but is certainly not much is around otherwise so your better off dining a the several restaurants on the Adero property. Definitely visit the Marriott site to find out more about Adero Scottsdale.
My friend and I came in for a quick spa getaway. Everything was great.the services, the room, the views. Not everything went smoothly but the staff was friendly, accommodating and quick to resolve issues. My only complaint is they need a media/technology department to review communications and end user functionality on their website and app as a lot of the options like reservations or menus didn't exist or didn't work. This is where the staff shined as they easily overcame those issues.
Comfortable beds, clean rooms, great location. Beautiful views. The spa is wonderful, very friendly staff. Great workout area.
Put my Mom and her Significant other here for the holidays. We live close by. The new wing is beautiful. Like most Marriott properties these days the check in experience left something to be desired. It's pricey so should feel further upscale at check in. Other than that a great property
This is an isolated, tranquil getaway mountain resort. The rooms have a relaxing modern decor and the dark skies make you feel like you're far away from the city because you actually are. The parking and resort fees are unreasonably high but I love everything else about this hotel.
The property has a nice view. That’s pretty much sums up what is nice about it. The room (and we had a junior suite on 6th floor) was very dark day or night. The drain in the shower was not working. The water in the sink was either too hot or freezing cold. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The power outlets were hard to locate. The service was terrible. The front desk never had any change for larger bills even though the hotel has valet parking and it is customary to tip the valet. On the third day of our stay we received a text from the hotel asking us about our experience. We replied that it was not very good. The following text asked us when they could contact us to discuss the issues. We provided the time and never heard back. On the day off the check-out we called 45 minutes in advance and asked for a bell man to come up 15 minutes before the check-out time. The bell man didn’t show up. My husband had to go down to the front desk and ask for the bell man again and I wait in the room past the checkout time.
