Affiliated Dermatology Ahwatukee reviews
20 I had my first appointment last week.
Signing in was quick, hardly any wait. The front desk was very friendly.
Kelly Harris was excellent! I was completely impressed with how thorough and detailed she was. The treatment for my condition was the one I was looking to get, explained the process in its entirety and the timeline on when to expect results. I felt like she really took ownership of my health concerns and that’s a great thing to feel as a patient.
MA Amelia and PA Jane Shin were awesome - thorough skin check for my hubby and answered all our questions completely. We are new to AZ, and
looking forward to a great relationship with this practice - Thank you Ladies for the excellent care today!
She was amazing. She kNew what she was talking about and even made me feel better as a mother by relating to me. I went to the Gilbert one, once before and I didn’t really feel like the Dr helped me. I had no choice but to go to the one in Phoenix since I needed a sooner date for my boy and I am so glad that I took the slot because she was great. Actually gave me some hope that I can get my sons condition under control, for once.
Kelly was very professional but still projected a very caring attitude and presence. I felt I received excellent care. When I come back to Affiliated Dermatology I hope to see her friendly face and experience her superb attitude.
She was very kind and comfortable to talk to. She was able to recognize and treat my issues immediately. I will definitely go and see her again and refer her.
Glad I went here. First booked an appointment with English dermatology and the day of my appointment, after waiting a month and a half for an opening, they cancelled my appointment with a sorry excuse of something came up. Went to Affiliated and it was an easy process, staff are polite and they get you in and out. Had Kelly Harris, NP and she got me in and out very quickly with out feeling as if I was rushed or just another number for the day
I see Kelly Harris, NP at this location and really enjoy my interaction with her. She is VErY thorough in her examination and explains everything in an easy-to-understand way. She also is extremely personable, very professional and shows concern for my well-being. The rest of the medical staff is also very professional and personable.
Dr. Ye Ji Shin, her assistant (Rihanna?) and the entire Affiliated Dermatology staff are professional and friendly. I will highly recommend this place.
Kelly Harris is very thorough, knowledgeable, and really cares about her patients. And she is just super nice.
If you are willing to spend over 600 dollars without consent, this is the place to go to. I understand it's about which insurance plan you have is the reason why they charge you. I get it. But to pay extra money to talk to the doctor that needs to explain what your results were after she performed the biopsy on you is ridiculous. They told me I needed to pay extra money out of my pocket to talk to the doctor about my results. The stitches would be no cost, but to talk to the doctor about what they found and hold that information from me unless I pay? Wow. And not only that but a month later have a 400 dollar charge to my account for performing the surgery and NO mention of the charge, what the insurance would cover, nothing! Absolutely ridiculous, and here I thought they were suppose to help me.
Ye Ji Shin, NP is a very beautiful person, she takes the time to listen to you she's very kind. You can see that she loves her job and cares for the patient. I pray that when I do get to go for my yearly checkup she will still be there attending her patients.
She was very courteous and explained everything concerning my visit very thoroughly. Took the time to address all my questions and concerns, felt very comfortable with her!
She really listened to me and asked great questions. Also, she made sure that the new drug was not contra-indicated with the current drugs I take.
My doctor in Maricopa and her staff were very pleasant and answered all my questions. The atmosphere was great and would definitely come back
2023 Update: I've now received bills via mail and email from Affiliated, exceeding the original billed amount (which I paid, in full). I called my insurance company to find out why they are covering these charges, and they are are now questioning their practices as they appear to have double billed them (they have submitted it 3 times now), and when they declined to pay AD is now trying to collect from me. Mistakes happen, however I've left 2 voice mails for their billing department now with not one call back, and their emails requesting payment are from a "No Reply". So I'm updating this. Maybe someone in their corporate office or billing department will reach out this time. 2 stars are being adjusted to 1.
First and last appointment in Ahwakuee, quick breakdown: person who made my appointment was kind, thorough, & I felt positive in finding a new doctor (1 star). Upon my arrival the front desk staff was uninterested in anything I asked, but I did overhear all their office gossip while waiting (no stars, be better). When going back to the exam room, nurse was great - seemed to care, listened well, asked questions, etc (1 star). Enter the doctor (no idea what her name even is at this point tbh) and whom ever she’s currently training - and this is where it totally fell apart for me. I felt like a show pony - zero care from the doctor, she just pointed out all my imperfections from head to toe to the trainee w/o even addressing me directly. Quick answers to everything: we’ll burn this off, cut that, labs will be back in a week - see ya next year. Most frustrating is that I had a little fatty bump on my back shoulder that I told her kinda bothered me, and she said “it’s nothing, but we can cut it off”. If it’ll look better, I say great - go for it. She literally dug a hole into my back so deep that 3 months later it now looks 100x worse & looks like a red crater. So I go see a different doctor who’s appalled at the “removal”. It was a quick money grab, as of course I’ve been billed $160 for it outside of insurance & feels like a slap in the face. As a first time customer I expected to share this with them when i was sent a “how did we do? ” email or a follow up call - but got neither so here ya go! Nutshell: avoid this place at all costs.
I was seen for a regular check-up and scheduled to have a follow-up procedure done. Dr. Harris told me that the office would contact my insurance and get a cost estimate to me the week prior to my appointment. The day of my appointment came along and I had not received any calls from the provider. I logged into the portal to do my pre-check-in and saw a charge for $540 on my account. Thinking this must be the estimate that they forgot to call and give me, I called the office to confirm. It took a very long time to get someone on the phone, but when I did, she told me that was a charge from my prior appointment (!) and that they couldn't tell me how much my procedure was going to cost until after it was done. Needless to say, I wasn't willing to write them a blank check after I was blindsided with a $540 bill for a basic check-up. This is an unprofessional and discourteous way to treat patients, to say the least.
Kelly Harris is great! She caught a melanoma that I was unaware of. She does a comprehensive screening which I really appreciate.
Going here made me really, really miss my dermatologist in Houston. So impersonal and nothing they prescribed changed anything. This place is like a dermatology manufacturer of sorts. It has no soul.
I highly recommend Affiliated Dermatology! Ye Ji Shin was awesome. Very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. She not only did a great job, but helped make the procedure as comfortable as possible.
No point of making an appointment.
Drove for an hour for my appointment, waited there for 30 min and yet to be seen or talked to. Every time I ask they simply say couple more minutes.
