Alice's Restaurant reviews
16 I really really want to like this place as I can walk from my house, and I gave it 3 different visits over the last year but I just won’t be going back.
Besides having the ambiance of a “Hoarders” episode the food is mediocre to inedible. I last had the chicken fried steak which was gamy, tough and tasted of freezer burn and also appeared to have been deep fried— is that normal? Previously had a patty melt—tasted of old grease and a dirty grill.
Anyway, cute little place with awful food and god help you if it fills up, there was only 4 employees total and they looked harried with just the 5-6 tables there.
Decor is beautiful. The waitress was the best. But the food lacked anything special. We won't be going back!
Drove all the way over there only to find out they ARECLOSED ON SATURDAY. Update website. Says you are open
Mom and I love this restaurant and the kind service is great too!
Really good salsa, not too hot and we get a container to go!
Great local owner business!
Super service! Breakfast is as good as any place in Tucson!
Try it you will like it!
Super cool little Diner in an unassuming strip mall. The food and service were excellent, and the coffee was great! Decor is a plus!
Cool nostalgic breakfast and lunch place. As the song goes "You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant". Great menu and friendly service.
This was a cute little place with so much memorabilia to look at, nice homey feel and the people are very friendly.
Won’t go back only because the owner, who was also the cook, refused to remake the cold waffle he had the wonderful server give us. He even refused to make us something in place of it. He would rather loose a customer then make a $. 50 waffle. That’s bad business and I don’t support bad business. I gave an over all 1 star because of the owner but the server was wonderful and the southwest omelette was delish and hot.
Hi judge most places by their biscuits the gravy was good the best it's worth in the portion was small and I got what was called the large. I will try something elves to see if the rest of the food is worthwhile but the overall atmosphere is wonderful so is the service
Wonderful food in a delightful atmosphere. Courteous and attentive staff. Will recommend to my friends and family
After reading some of the reviews for this place hubby and I were a bit hesitant to dine here. We figured we'd give it a chance and it was fine. The waitress was really friendly and paid just the right amount of attention to us. The place was packed I think we got the last booth but we still got our food quickly. Food is fine. We had breakfast and it was just plain. I got French toast because it's my favorite and it reminded me of how my mom cooked hers. She was the worst cook in the world, and Alice's makes their French toast just like she did.with wheat sandwich bread and it is nothing to write home about. It is to so boring but hey, not the end of the world.
I don't know what wes happening when all those bad reviews were posted but I think they deserve a chance.
The food is bland and not worth the money you’re spending. The service is awful. You’re better off going elsewhere. Toast101 is great!
I have never felt so unwelcome. My food was wrong, which was pretty much dealt with a shoulder shrug. Of the 3 people we dealt with, only one was kind. I will never go back.
The brick walls are painted shiny red and black, with vintage Coke bottles displayed from front to back. A large caricature of Alice is painted on the wall, maybe six or seven or eight feet tall. The wait staff is pleasant, the food is quite good, and the numbers on the menu look small like they should. So get up on Saturday, take her down for a bite, and before you finish your bacon, you'll be feelin' alright.
