Alma School & Ray Goodwill Retail Store and Donation Center reviews
17I used to love going here with my wife and deal hunting but as of 7/10/20 there are no deals to be found. I do not know what took places in the interim as I have not been in the store since the "outbreak" took place at the end of February. Now, I would say prices are 10-15% below what it is retail. That coupled with the fact that they still do not wash the donation they receive make me fearful shopping here. IT feels like, "is it worth it to save a few bucks and put my family t risk? " the answer is sadly is no. Also if you happen to purchase electronics and it is unusable because it was still registered to a different user via cox or centurylink, they will NOT take it back. Even though you cannot use it and it is their fault for selling stolen property. I would not purchase a used modem or router for your service here as it is too risky.
Love good will. Easy to spot from the road. Well organized. Dressing rooms were clean. It was definitely busy on a Saturday but thats to be expected.
Cory the store manager is truly a rare find. He goes above and beyond for his customers. I own a company and if it was a retail store I would hire him in a heart beat.
I wanted to give a personal shout out to the employees of this store. I didn’t get the name of the woman who helped me in store, but her and Tim in the warehouse went the extra mile. Thanks for the help today!
The store was very clean and well organized. There were a lot of items in decor, furniture, and clothing. And the clerks were friendly and helpful!
I didn't find what I was looking for, but it's a thrift store. You have to sometimes shop for awhile for things in thrift stores.
The place is just a mess. They have the same clothing as they did 2 yrs ago. Furniture is old dirty. Just plane junk stuff!
Horrible, employees are rude and forget about you, prices are waaay to high. My husband use to work for them, also racist behind closed doors. Very unprofessional. Very shady business practices, dont let them over charge you.
They're so helpful I'm giving you their time and helping you find what you need I wouldn't go to any other Goodwill but the one on Alma School and Ray Road
Very Very dirty merchandise and dirty store. The carts were filthy too. Some had bird poop on them and they were indoors. We will not be back.
I just bought a beautiful brand new chair here. I was so lucky to be there when they put it on the floor that morning. I love this place.
The bathrooms are so filthy. I have never been to a goodwill with such disgusting bathrooms. There was toilet paper all over the floor and trash every where.
I'm a middle aged woman who likes my greying hair. I made that very clear. Just wanted some extra silver highlights. I got mid 20's blond. Lots of it. Went back and took pictures of my hair from Christmas, less than 1 month ago. Instructor told me that there is no way to fix all the blond without causing a lot of damage to my hair. Basically, I have to wear a hat for the next year until it grows out. Gross! I understand they are students doing the work, I went thru beauty school many years ago but, I did not do hair so, why didn't the instructor tell me that I couldn't get silver gray highlights. Why wasn't I told that if anything it would just be blond. I am not sure what to do now except wear a hat while it all grows out! BTW, their phone system hasn't worked for a very long time, that's what the instructor told me and I called the school 10 times thru out the day in order to get some repair work done. Oh but that didn't work either. Will not be going there ever again. Ladies, if you like your graying hair, just be patient because highlights can't be done with silver gray. It will be blond. And you will hate it.
They keep raising prices, Half there Junk is at Real store prices. Even there smelly shoes are way too expensive.
Great selection, friendly staff and friendly customers too. I guess you really are what you attract!
Today was dollar day, and there were other customers informing me about where all the good clothes were, and another who was standing behind me in line let me know another register opened up instead of not telling me so she could get to the new line first. I will definitely be coming back here.
I love to go here when there is nothing else to do. It is fun to pick out 5 hot wheels from the Bag Your Own Toys section and buy them for only 99 cents (unless it is the 50% off Saturday, then they are half off). Overall, lovely store, fun to visit to see what you may find. I 100% recommend this place.
Very friendly staff. It is a well-organized, pleasant-smelling store. I bought some great finds: A mirror that looks like a window, shorties for sleeping, stamps for card making, and some pants hangers. Since I was with a friend who is over 55, we got the senior discount and my purchases came to just under $10.00. A good day of thrifting.
