American Discount Foods, Mesa AZ

I wish I could say it is terrible, But it is the most wonderful place to shop! The prices are amazing. The selection is far beyond what a regular grocery store would have. Just be willing to try new things. I have discovered foods that I love that way. Why did I say I wish it was terrible? I fear it is going to become too popular and my favorite items will be sold out. I love American Discount Foods!

I've always loved this place. I've been shopping with them since early 2000's when they were on extension. I've never had any issues with their products.

Wanted to update my review to say that this store continues to impress me. It’s really hard to go in for just what you came for with all the deals. Produce options have improved. Bags of brioche buns for under $2, lettuce & tomato make it easy to put together meals without a need to stop/ shop elsewhere. THANK YOU

Another reason I enjoy shopping here is that the customer service is as good or better than any other store.especially if you are lucky enough to be in Sandra’s line. She is consistently friendly, fast, & efficient; while always making genuine conversation with each customer.

This place is like a Nordstrom rack for food. If you are a shopper who likes and knows quality and also deals when you see them, you will be glad to find a place like American Discount store. I forget how I found it but I was looking for an Aldi and learned that they haven't yet expanded to Arizona, but have no worries your needs and wants can be found here.

Today was not the best day there, as far as stuff that interested me. This is to be expected from time to time at a "grocery outlet store". There are days when the cart doesn't seem big enough and other days when things may not be your cup of tea. They specialize in overstocks and items that are beyond the best by date. Their meat is frozen to help preserve it. They guarantee their product 100%. If there is something wrong with an item you buy, they will make it right. They mostly carry grocery items but they always have hygenic items and oftentimes have other items like furniture or games.

The one thing I will give them is that, unlike many other stores today, their shelves were not bare. The prices are usually great and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The prices get even better when you score a Deal of the Day (usually multiple items per day). If you spend over $ 50, you get to spin a wheel for a chance at money off on your next trip.

They now have two locations (Central Mesa and East Mesa) so they are pretty convenient for anyone that lives in the East Valley. Check them out!

Simply put there are a lot of great deals here. Most things are past a use by date but it's no problem if you're going to use them soon. I saw really good deals in the meat department, too bad my freezer was already full.

After shopping here you will want to invest in a deep freezer. Great prices and awesome value. Been coming here for almost all my grocery needs.

Lots of random grocery and other items at greatly discounted prices. Not very consistent though. And most all of the items are past expiration date. But if that doesn't concern you, great spot:)

American Discount Foods is a good place to shop most of the items are priced alot lower than grocery stores. The staff are friendly and the merchandise changes all the time but sometimes they don't have what you might need or want.

Great deals. Some things are very close to expired (but not perishables) & cans are sometimes dented, but if you don't mind that, amazing prices in a Christian based establishment. Closed on Sundays.

My favorite store in the world. Blah blah blsh to expiration dates. There is no other store I have seen with prices this low on good quality food items, with Christian music playing throughout the store and scriptures on the wall.

OMG! Have been there twice and it's great! The selection changes all the time so that same product may not be there, which can be disappointing, but I always find lots of great things to bring home. Try it for yourselves. Not your normal shopping trip. Allow for plenty of time to see it all.

If you want to save between 50 - 75 % on your grocery bill this is the place. The one thing to know is you really can't go in with a grocery list, not unless you get their daily emails.

Great deals! Been going to this business since they first opened at their prior location over a decade ago. Items in store vary weekly amd some of the special buys are prices I haven't seen since the early 90's.

I like this store! If you are in need of shopping on a budget this would be a good place to go and get more bang for your buck! Quality foods for less.

An interesting place where to shop. One never know what will be available. A lot of junk food, solid prices on staple foods but more interestingly occasional and unpredictable gourmet foods.

This is a good place to get food cheap but that's the problem. Its food that's past its sell by date and it only last a few days once its home. I think the only good parts of this store is the non-perishable items and the customer service.

A great place to save a few bucks as long as you know what you are getting. They sell overstocks, dented can goods, and close to expiration foods. I love to save money on the frozen foods and paper goods. I also never know what new little item I may find there.
