Lake was beyond amazing! We were overall quite surprised about the room accommodations based off some reviews everywhere. Everything was clean and if not new still looked great. We had our dogs and my only concern was because we had our dogs we were groups in with everyone else that had their dogs and none on leashes. It was quite unsafe. Hopefully the resort gets wifi. The 3G service was spotty and rare. We were there during a pretty good storm so stuck in the room with nothing. I understand this may be rare but it was definitely a bummer.

Dirt Room
No Hot Water
Put us in a room next to a family with 3 kids, but hotel was more than 75 percent empty?
Bed was hard as a rock" wife's words"
pillow had big stain, nasty!

My family and I went to stay at Apache Lake Marina & Resort this weekend. We stayed in a newly updated room. Nice clean linens and a modern feel to the update. We ate dinner at the restaurant and had a good mix of food which was good. Our kids liked the pizza.

We were fortunate to meet the new owner and are really excited about his attitude and plans for the future of this great getaway.

The road coming in is really rough, so take it slow. There are plans by the state to fix the road and make it easier to get to the marina. This really is a hidden gem of Arizona. The lake was fantastic and not busy at all. While the resort has been there for a long time and needs some updating, it has a charming feel to it and I can see the vision of the updates to come.

There is a lot of history here and almost a cult following from people who have been coming here for 30 plus years. I met one of those families and it was cool to hear their stories of them bringing their kids there and now they had their kids and grandkids there for the weekend.

You can rent pontoon boats, jetskis and kayaks if you don't have your own. Great fishing and a fantastic atmosphere! I will be going back, possibly considering doing an annual trip to enjoy this great spot!

We had a wonderful weekend at Apache Lake. We stayed at the RV 30 amp camp with our trailer and 3 dogs. The staff was really nice and we really enjoyed our stay. The RV parking spots are very close together so be mindful that if it’s full you won’t have a lot of privacy but being able to hook up your power, water and sewer is awesome! AND THE VIEW WAS AMAZING! The little beach area they have is perfect to bring the dogs to and cool off in the Arizona heat. The water temperature is perfect! We rented a jet ski from them and it was 100% worth it! If you can, I would highly recommend! It made our day!
The last 12 miles to get to the resort are a bit annoying, since it’s a dirt and very bumpy road right by cliffs at times. Hauling a trailer at night wasn’t super fun but it was worth it! Regardless of the “cons” I would still rate my weekend a 10/10! Loved it!

This vacation was incredibly spent at Apache. The rooms were excellent in Hotel A and the beauty is A+. Everyone that visits Arizona needs to check this place out! Looking forward to beach camping and campfires this fall.

Fun weekend getaway with the family! Apache Lake takes a little more effort to get there but is worth it. Our room was cozy and good for our family of five. The staff is super friendly and happy to answer questions and help. The pizza and the jalepeno poppers at the restaurant are yummy! We rented a pontoon boat one day, and jet skis another day, both were super fun. There are some lawn games at the lodge too which our kids enjoyed.

We have boated and vacationed at Apache Lake for 25 years. This was the first time we stayed at the hotel. (resort).
We booked the rooms on their website 4 weeks in advance. The same website that advertises the restaurant, bar and other facilities available there.
Upon arrival, after we were given the room key, they asked, "oh, are you ok with no hot water in the rooms? ". After seeing the slightly blank look on my face, (I was wondering if she was joking), another girl came out from behind the counter and told the other employee to just give us a room in the other building, where the hot water was working. And, she said, the rooms there are a little nicer anyway.
?
Then, we asked for the hours of the restaurant, as our extended family of seven (including 3 under 10) had planned to eat dinners in the restaurant. We were told that they "didn't think the restaurant or bar would be open today, and maybe not all weekend. ". This would have been nice to know on their website, as the closest other restaurant or food store is 1 hour up a washboard road.
Luckily, we brought enough food for lunches and snack on the boat, so we were able to scrape by for 3 days.
No place to put luggage or anything in the room. No dresser, luggage stand, just two beds.
Bathrooms had been remodeled, that was a plus. Not sure who chose the ultra modern sinks, fancy showerheads, and dim electronic mirrors, but it would help if (considering the giant bathroom) they could have spent a little on a shelf or something to but your toiletries. That always bugs me in a hotel.
The air conditioner was so loud it woke us up the 9 times it kicked on the first night. The second night, I decided to try the fan only, thinking it was cool enough and would just be like white noise and allow us to sleep. Nope, the fan is really loud.
There's a tv, but no remote. When we told them about the missing remote the next morning (we didn't care about watching tv, just didn't want to be blamed later for a missing remote) they said "ok, but the tv service isn't really working here anyway".
?

The room was clean, (except the crusty towel in the one small drawer between the beds) just missing places to put your things.
For $180/night, I expected a little better room than just a clean "Super 8" with a noisy AC.

I understand it was the beginning of Fall, going into the off-season, but if you cut back on services, let folks know when they book, and maybe give better off-peak rates.

This "resort" has sooo much potential. Beautiful setting. Great lake. The main road is being paved this Fall. How about cleaning up the place a bit and investing a little in the property? In 25 years, I've only seen it get more run down. Except maybe some modernized bathrooms.

BTW, the girl working in the little store Friday night was very nice and helpful. Even gave us a discount on some canned drinks and gave us some coffee grounds for our coffee maker we thought to bring. We had only brought enough coffee for one morning as we planned to get coffee and breakfast in the restaurant before boating.

It is clear, they're trying to improve in a few ways, but lacking in most others. They were clearly a bit embarrassed to tell us about the restaurant "probably" not being open that weekend, so I know they want to do better, but I guess the owners don't know how?
Hope they can get their act together. It could be very nice.

Still a great time on the lake, but we may camp next time. And bring plenty of food.

Wasn't expecting much when I walked through the door then BAM. There she was, the hostess. Made my trip all the more smoother. Oh the room was nice too. Really tho Nice place. 10/21/2022 Super nice bed. Fishing was great and the hamburger out of the bar was great after fishing all day. Super quiet, really safe. You cant go wrong.

Had a great time at Apache Lake! The hotel rooms are great. We enjoyed the pontoon boat and most of all the jet skis! We also fished and caught a catfish.

Compared to every other lake in the state this one is full. Very clean lake.

Friendly staff and good food at the restaurant! We will be back!

The staff is so helpful. I do wish the restaurant had more hours and more variety of food.

My favorite lake in the state! You now have to pay fee of $20/night to use areas by marina/restaurant. Now gated with passcode entry. Kinda a bummer but worth it. If you get there past "Business hours" there is a number on the door you can call to obtain access.

The Apache Lake itself is beautiful and scenic The Apache lake resort is no frills but the hotel is decent and has all the basic needs and has fair pricing. The staff is very friendly and accomadating. The resort has a nice restaurant and bar also. There are ample boat ramps and picnic areas but the picnic areas are limited so be prepared to bring everything you need. There is also pontoon boats available for rent as well as kayaks. The only drawback is the dirt road to get there is not easy on your vehicle and the shorter way to get there from Canyon Lake has been closed for the last 3 years so allow for extra time to travel the long way from the Roosevelt Lake side.

We definitely had a good time but need to do things a little differently next time. We stayed in Bldgs A & B which are far from the waters edge and the wet slip we had rented hoping to make boat access easier. There is no fix for that other than unhitching your trailer from your truck and using your truck to navigate around the resort and marina - which we will do next time.
The rooms have been renovated and are very pretty but still need an occasional bedside table and lamp but they are getting there. Definitely come because you will have a wonderful time. The people who run the marina & resort are top notch, excellent people!

The room was dirty and the shower, sink did not work. The restaurant food was not good and the service was low class. No resort amenities here. The view was the only thing worth staying for.

We had such an incredible girls trip to Apache Lake Resort! The 17 mile lake is absolutely gorgeous. We fished multiple days and caught Blue Gill on almost every cast. We rented a Pontoon Boat to fish a variety of areas and a Wave Runner which was fun to cruise around and check out the full lake with. The staff at the Resort were incredibly nice, from Scott at the boat rentals to Rosie in the bar - we were always made to feel very welcome and valued as customers. I don't recall ever staying anywhere else where every staffer that I encountered was so kind and helpful. The rooms are simple, you do have 3G cell phone service there but no TV/cable service so bring a DVD player to hook up to the TV if you want to watch something in your room. We had a small fridge and microwave in our room and we brought charcoal and used the grill outside our room to cook. There's a fun full bar in the main building with Shuffleboard, Pool Table etc, a restaurant and a small store for things like candy, chips, beer, and small items you might have forgotten. I will absolutely be returning. The lake is so beautiful and I loved that it was so much less crowded than other lakes in AZ that I've been to; truly a place to relax and unwind.
