Shaine. Was. AWESOME. Super professional, very knowledgeable especially for still being a student. Some might find it off putting when the students ask other students and instructors for help/advice but it put me even MORE at ease that I had a whole team working on my hair. I went from my natural jet black hair to a platinum and it was flawless. I had to do 2 sessions and it was the same professional service both times!

Debra was AWESOME! She was very nice and gave good suggestions on what I was looking to get done. She did a color and a cut. The color came out nice and has an added shine too. A cut for me normally is a few inches I guess you could say a trim. We agreed on more than a trim but not too short and it looks really good and definitely a lot healthier. They have some great products. I will definitely get some that Debra used in my hair the next time I go. I will definitely be going back.

Lena D did an amazing job on my hair cut today! She made awesome suggestions to give me the exact cut I wanted. Lena is super easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable as a client. I will definitely be recommending her to all my friends!

Entering into the Avalon School of Cosmetology took a lot of courage to trust them with my education. I arrived wanting to know current details.being a returning student, hours of operation for both day and night school. Being in a medical position i was having to be enrolled for another time. The advisor counselor was not able to speak with me but the director of the campus was at the entrance. Due to my personal situation i wanted to speak with her in regards it hand been many years from my first attempt to return. Sadly i felt like nothing more than a number to enter into the system. I was informed that all numbers would be run and i would be contacted when she was done. Little did she know i was looking at my options and wasn't even sure if i wanted to put myself back in the painstaking environment of this Phoenix Avalon Cosmetology. In honesty she didn't care and spoke right over me a million miles a second. After being deValued as a person, eliminated from being acceptable of her time. And my personal life was being dismissed at the entry of the entire school. She let me know she will call me.

I walked out being fully confirmed that i never wanted to go back to this school and knowing the issues relies with their value in their students and our time. We are the ones who pay for your job to begin with. Thank you for affirming that this is not a quality driven school but quantity; to pump out your number requirements; that keep your doors open.

Bro the place is good it just depends on what student u get, mine today took 6 hours just to do a wash blow dry and flat iron, dude it was tjwas worst tbh, so be careful on who u get at this school. And if ur black omg don’t come here they tak all damn day go to an actual black hair stylist, not this place no keep in mind their just learning how to do hair

Absolutely love it here. Everytime I have come in I have had a great experience. Kelly F did an amazing job with my hair and was so fun and friendly! So happy with the outcome. While it does take a little longer to get your hair done, it is well worth it and you can't beat the cost. The students are amazing and the instructors do a great job. I've been coming here for years and will continue to come back for years to come.

I recently went in to get a cut, color and style. I thought I wanted purple, but needed something okay for work. Jamie, my stylist, asked the instructor who kindly told me it wouldn't work. We switched colors and Jamie worked her magic. I walked out with bouncy hair, an amazing color and ready to add more to it! The receptionist was nice, another older lady who works there, not so much. Overall, I've been here several times and never had a bad experience with Jamie or the instructors. They're professional and fun at the same time. I'm excited to return for more.

Aasha does absolutely amazing work that outshines the cuts I have received at Toni&Guy!

The staff is friendly and polite, the environment clean and professional, and great prices (just remember to tip the stylist well- they aren't paid for this because it's school)!

I come here all the time but I have to say my last visit is apart of my top 2 least favorite of visits. I’ve been coming to Avalon Beauty College for 4-5 years now and I’ve always enjoyed helping out the students with fun hair cuts or colors. Unfortunately, I walked away last night with a hair cut that I thought I like but when I got home I was a bit upset. I sat in a chair for about 4 hours for a hair cut from my hair past my shoulders to a pixie shaved cut. Normally the hair cut has taken about 2 hours due to the students not having much experience with hair clippers but last night was rediculous in my book. I’m going to leave the students name out of it to not embarrass her. She first left her clippers in her car, and could not seem to figure out how much to take off from the example photos I showed her. I kept reassuring her that shorter is fine, but she kept working on fine details that shouldn’t have been worked on until the end. If the chair was facing the mirror I could of helped her along with what I wanted from the beginning but she turned the table to face the other students, why? I have no idea. I wasn’t wearing my glasses so it’s not like I could see the details that were important to me. I had to stop her from doing some stuff in order to get things moving faster. Sadly when I kept telling her just to clip certain things off she would feel the need to her the instructor for almost everything. After my husband contacted me saying my 4month year old has been crying non stop since I’ve been away which was around 2.5-3hrs since I was in the chair I was eager to get home. I was patient though cause as an animal groomer I do understand the fear of taking to much off with shears. Towards the end after she dried my hair for the third time it was close to closing time. I realized after I left there was no products in my hair when I left so my hair was down and more flat verses the style I would of had. When I through some glosser I bought from the school in my hair I saw that the back was shorter by almost an inch in comparison to the front. It’s still bulky and to long in the front and still had corners which I thought was corrected before I left. Due to being a stay at home mom during the week I don’t have the time to be going in again to get it fixed. Basically if she had me facing the mirror I would have walked out with a fade in my hair verses one guard comb length that is itchy and looks grown out. If I saw what was going on more I would of spoken up sooner to speed things up so I could of had those fine details. I’m either going to have to beg my husband to let me go back in again to get this fixed or I have to have someone else fix it for me at home. I am not pleased overall with this visit hense my low star rating. I will continue to go to Avalon and I will continue to request a student that knows how to handle clippers so I’m not there so late that I don’t even get to tuck my kids into bed: (.

I've been here a few times to get my mom's hair washed and dryed.can't complain.
Today she had Kiana G. She was very pleasant and professional. She'll do well when she graduates.

I didn’t have a primary hair stylist when I first moved out to Arizona, so when I decided to go blonde I had no clue where to go. 3 salons and $600 later, I was about to give up on hair care in Phoenix!

A year later (yes I went a year without cut or color, the previous experience really scarred me), I drive past an Avalon and thought, well it can’t get any worse than before so I’ll try.

I could not be happier!
Knowing that these stylists are students, the first cut and color were great and only needed one touch up visit.

Specifically, Kayla is fabulous! She’s thoughtful, professional, and friendly. She took time to understand the style I wanted, explained things to me along the way, always made sure I was comfortable, and was just pleasant to chat with.

AND everything- cut and color and gloss treatment and blow dry style and a shampoo to bring home- totaled $85.

I’ve found my home salon and future primary stylist:)

I have had my hair done here a few times and I love Brittani D. She did an awesome job. She takes the time to make sure everything is done perfectly and she is super sweet. I would recommend Brittani D.she is the best!

My first experience here was amazing! Alicia Mongeon was my stylist and she is so upbeat and friendly she made the lengthy process of balayage-ing my box dyed hair fun! She is an absolute delight and actually made my hair so much prettier than what I had envisioned. Her enthusiasm transcended to her peers, and several other students stopped by to help or give advice or just admire her efforts. Alicia is an absolute shining star!

If you need your hair done go ask for Jessica! She was amazing! From start to finish, she was knowledgeable and so sweet! She made sure I understood every part of the process and I couldn't be happier with how my hair turned out!

I have had my haircut here several times. I have had great experiences with students Stacee, Esmeralda and most recently Josie. Where else can you go get a great haircut which includes shampoo and blow dry for a price so low and find a coupon to use on top of that. NOWHERE! Don't be in a hurry when you come here. This a school and the student you get is just that a student who is getting hands on training by cutting your hair. It takes about 2 hours to get a cut and style. I love instructors Miss Melody and Miss Vicky who work closely with their students on every step of my haircut. They come up with ideas for me on my cut and give the student tips and tricks for getting it there and style tips for me. They make it so pleasant for me it seems a crime I pay so little! I LOVE THIS PLACE! This is a school and allow extra time, be nice and be patient it is worth it!

Not kid friendly. Rude. Was kicked out for simply having my child with me. I have been coming here for months with my child and now they kick you out and deny you service for simply having a child with you. Pathetic. THE RECEPTIONIST SUGGESTED I LEAVE MY 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER ALONE IN THE WAITING AREA. What the hell is wrong with you people? You are sick!

I DID MY EYEBROWS HERE LIKE 3 YEARS AGO AND THE LADIES WERE SO SO NICE AND COMPLIMENTED MY SKIN COMPLEXION. SHE WAS A CAUCASIAN LADY WITH PRETTY SHORT LIGHT HAIR. SHOUTS OUT TO HER. SHE WAS THE BEST LADY THERE. SOON I WILL BE COMING HERE WITH MY GIRLFRIEND TO GET HAIRCUTS AND HOPEFULLY WE SEE THE LOVELY CAUCASIAN WOMAN.
