Avana Desert View reviews
18We joined one month back to the apartment and the washing machine, dryer and kitchen outlets power supply are not working. We are going and asking in leasing office for the fix. But they are not at all considering. It’s very tough to wash clothes daily with hands.
The office staff, with Jesse and Isaias leading the way, have been truly exceptional, offering invaluable assistance during my tour. The community's natural beauty is genuinely captivating, and I was instantly charmed as soon as I set foot inside.
We lived here for a year, we had a nice 3 b3droom with plenty of storage and it's in a great location! I had great neighbors, very safe as there are people moving around all hours of the night (people have odd shifts and work from home). However, you need to be your own handyman, my stove door kept breaking and had to call multiple times and finally went to the office 2x with the oven door handle in my hand before it finally got fixed. In emergency, be sure to call the main customer service line, as the app takes a minimum of a week for a response if you get one at all. Went the month of July with no ac. Thankfully, we were in the process of moving. Maintenance did come out a few times but never got it to work more than a day or 2.
Work order number 7432732.opened on august 3rd 2023.
But no action till now.it’s same scenarios whenever we open a work order.since 1 year am staying here and maintenance requests always taking more than a month or two.
Even you call leasing office they just update work order … bad experience
I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Avana Desert View Apartments during my stay from 2019 to 2020. My time there was marred by the fact that they falsely charged me nearly $800. This unexpected expense, which occurred after I had already vacated the premises, left me feeling frustrated and taken advantage of.
The lack of transparency and accountability in their billing practices is concerning. Despite my attempts to clarify the charges, the management provided vague explanations that only added to my frustration. It's crucial for a reputable establishment to be upfront about their charges and to rectify any mistakes promptly. Unfortunately, my experience with Avana Desert View Apartments fell far short of these expectations.
I strongly advise potential renters to be cautious when considering this apartment complex. It's essential to be wary of unexpected charges that can greatly impact your overall experience and budget. Please do yourself a favor dont rent with these people, they will make sure you get hardest time possible when you leave.
Moved in about 2 months ago. Got the sophisticated floor plan with upgraded appliances. The demo apartment and virtual tour show nice appliances that you think you will be getting, but when we moved in the washer and dryer are extremely out dated and the dishwasher has stand still water that turns moldy because it won’t drain. The dryer smells like smoke and takes 2 cycles to dry anything. Very misleading and a waste of money to upgrade. I’ve put in numerous maintenance requests and they can’t even bother to respond, yet I’m sure they will respond to this review with lots of excuses, like every other poor review on here. Absolutely unacceptable. Anyone thinking about moving in, be careful. As soon as you sign the lease you will be ignored.
Lived here 2 months. Our dryer is from the 80’s and we’re paying for the “sophisticated” package. It smells like a fire every time we run it. Tried putting in multiple service requests with no communication. There’s no point in calling the phone number or emailing. It’s crickets every time. Very disappointed so far.
Massive Cockroach problem in all apartments, no maintenance service whatsoever, lousy office staff and huge electric bills due to very old malfunctioning conditioners. This place does not deserve a Scottsdale address. The living conditions are equal to that of welfare housing and I'm NOT exaggerating. Then they try to make everything all good by having pool parties by giving everyone cheap lousy dollar store hotdogs made from God only knows what. It's like a slap in the face. This dump doesn't even deserve 1 star, it deserves Negative infinity stars.
Isiah was very helpful in answering all my questions. I will be highly considering this complex partly due to his care and services he provided.
Great location, office staff was helpful and overall good property.
Update: Jesse later helped my godmother who was experiencing some financial difficulties and was having trouble with making rent. He worked with her, he showed compassion and helped by suggesting multiple resources / contacts, of which one was able to assist. I am grateful for kind people who make a difference in this world.
Just look at all the rest of the reviews. Maintenance takes forever to fix anything. I once went 5 days with a badly working ac and no portable ac (86 degrees in the apartment). 10 days ago I submitted a work order for the washer in my unit. The guy in the office with the mushroom style haircut told me the part is on order for the washer. I told him I didn't give the model number of the washer in my unit in the work order I created. He then tells me the parts are all the same. Sorry buddy, I work in this industry. Don't lie to my face and don't lie to your residents because you'll always get caught. I learned my lesson. I'm fixing everything myself from now on except for the AC, that's their problem
Had a great experience, I was looking around for places for my daughter. Jesse was extremely knowledgeable and polite. I enjoyed the property, and the layout of the model looked nice.
Recently I toured this community with helpful young man named Jesse. He not only gave me a great tour of the community but he knew all about the area and what schools my kids would be going to. Jesse even pointed out the bus stops and nearest recreation center. I asked Jesse if he knew of any other apartments that I should also tour and he was kind enough to go online with me and and shop all his comps and give me the pricing as well as their pro and cons. In the end I decided to lease here not because Avana was the cheapest, but because Jesse made me feel that this place was home. I'm starting a new job near here and this deschion to lease here feels right.
This place charges you for amenities but both pools have been closed down for months. They’ll open a pool for a day and it’s shut down again. One of them turned deeply green/black and they left it for weeks. Charging for amenities that are never available.
Amazing company to work for, always feeling like they have my best interest in mind, definitely my favorite job.
The apartments themselves and the grounds are really nice and decently priced! Having said that, the management doesn’t respond to maintenance requests and is extremely hard to get ahold of, half the gym equipment isn’t ever working, one pool has been out of order for the last year and the second pool is now also out of order.
Great service all around and property is very nice. Isiah was great and answered all questions when I needed.
I was a resident here for over 2 years - Dec 2020 to Jan 2023
Good things about this community:
Very conveniently located.
Two pools, well maintained.
Big play areas and a big dog park.
Their comminity gym.
Things they need to improve:
Maintenance - They went from being awesome to awful. It’s practically nonexistent. Not surprised that most of their negative comments are about their maintenance.
Gates - In the 2 years of my residence, gates worked for about 2 full weeks.
HVAC - It’s inside the unit and it is loud as a farm tractor.
Cleanliness - there’s pet waste everywhere, including in play areas.
Leasing Staff - Except their manager, I’ve observed indifferent behavior from everyone else.
Autopay - multiple instances of their autopay not deducting full amount in one go. Residents who have their autopay on think they’ve paid for the month, only to realize that they have to pay remaining amount & late fee too. Then what’s the point of autopay?
