Allen provided excellent customer service upon my check in and when I dropped the vehicle off. Overall, it was a great experience.

Nice staff, who gave good customer service. However very expensive rentals and No the Union discount was No real Discount. It is not the place to go to for Affordable rentals.

Terrible experience. I joined Avis loyalty program to save 45% when I booked a prepaid reservation. I read all the terms and conditions, which included the cancelation penalty of 50.00 if done on the day of pickup. I wasn't allowed to check in due to having a temporary debit card because my original was stolen with my wallet. I explained my situation to attendant. All he had to do was verify the account number matched the card that was charged! After pleading for 30 minutes and receiving no empathy, I asked him to cancel, which he then said he could not do there, that I'd have to call or log on to the website. I logged on and proceeded to cancel with a disclaimer popping up to notify me of 50.00 penalty, which I had no choice but to agree on. I then called to verify cancelation and refund. I was told 10 to 15 days to process. On the 16th day, I called and was given the run around. I went to an Avis office and was told, " Most people forget about it due to process. " I explained that I do not have the luxury of forgetting about a 340.00 refund. I was then told I'd be better off going to Better Business Bureau to get resolution. I am a business professional in the hospitality industry and fully understand the refund policy for prepaid reservations. Either direct website or 3rd party. I have never encountered anything like this. I have tried numerous times to speak with representatives at Avis, and I was put on hold and hung up on. To me, this is plain theft! I have yet to receive my refund. No one offered a solution. I asked for credit to be applied to another reservation and was told it is not allowed.

Told me they couldn’t tell me how much an extension of a rental is for a single day bc it is in MY HUSBANDS name. Rude children running this location.

The store off the 202 and Scottsdale Road is awesome. The store in Mesa off of country club in between Broadway and Southern. That is the location that you advise your enemies to rent a vehicle from. Five star to the Scottsdale Road store. 0 Stars for the country club store.

***BEWARE! ***

Rented a car from here on vacation for a few days. Should have known just by the demeanor of the owner that I would be receiving a bill for damage that never happened. Got charged 400$ for a windshield repair because it was allegedly smashed.

Don’t rent a car from this place. It’s clear that the owner and employees make their money from scamming tourists.

I’ve reported this location to the authorities as well as Avis because they have consistently failed to provide me with documentation on the alleged damage. I have been ignored multiple times in trying to resolve this issue and they continue to illegally hold my money.

My rental experience from the Avis facility on S. Country Club Drive in Mesa, AZ.could not have gone any better. From the gentlemen at the counter when I picked up my vehicle to the gentlemen that I returned it too! Very cordial & respectful! Very clean Chrysler Pacifica Mini Van. Please do not pay any attention to the bad reviews on this website! Some people you just can't make happy. Excellent customer service & very nice vehicle. Thanks again to all involved here for my rental experience!

Getting the car was quick but upon receiving the car it was extremely dirty inside and out. They even stuck a sticker on the mirror saying they cleaned the car. Ridiculous customer service.

Terrible Customer service. This place will rip you off. I reserved a vehicle through Costco travel. When I picked up the vehicle, the man had charged me the same amount as indicated on the reservation, but gave me a vehicle that was NOT in the same level or class as the vehicle reserved. The vehicle he rented to me was from a lower class AND smelled like cigarette smoke, was dirty, and had dings on it. When I informed him of the issues, he didn’t care to do anything to make it right. I would never rent from this location again. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Really bad customer service. Terrible pick of cars. Why do you only carry giant SUVs? I would like something more economical. Why do all of the branch-specific phone numbers route you back to the operator? Waited 2 hours just to NOT get any help. Terrible.

Horrible customer service. Showed up at 4: 45 to pick up my rental truck reservation I made in advance. Their budget website says they close at 5: 15 online. Their rep told me it would take too long to get the truck so they couldn’t help me since it was too close to closing. Putting me in a real pinch now. Refused to explain what would take so long and was extremely rude.

I love renting from avis. The customer service was great, but this last time I rented from avis I didn't get my full deposit back & I brought the car back with a full tank of gas.

I rented a vehicle earlier this month from an Avis office in Central California. My wife and teenage daughter were driving to Mesa Arizona. The 800 miles away was an 11 hour drive. My wife text me around 11: 30pm, to let me know a maintenance light on the vehicle’s dashboard illuminated. She was several hours away and was nervous the car would break down in the desert. She text again around 2am, ta second light came on but they made it to Meza.
I contacted my local office later that morning and the agent directed my wife to switch cars at any local Avis branch. My wife took the car to the nearest Avis office located on Superstition Springs Bl and dealt with Jill. Jill inspected the light and determined it was only a maintenance light. My wife told her she did not feel comfortable driving it back to California and Jill explained she could not help her. She offered directions to the Avis on Country Club Dr to ask about switching cars.
I called back the Avis branch on Country Club Dr.and spoke with Alan. It seems Alan apparently prides himself as a bit of an “car whisper” and is one who can reset a maintenance light faster than a NASCAR pit crews can change the tires on a stock car. Alan told me he saw the maintenance light and offered to reset it. He didn’t check the oil level, run a diagnostic test, or do any kind of safety check to ensure there was anything wrong with the car. When I asked if he would guarantee the car would make it back to California, he confidently told me, “Yes”. But in the event it did break down in the middle of the desert at one in the morning, my wife could call roadside assistance.
At no point did we ask for an upgrade. We just wanted a vehicle that we felt would safely make it home. Alan admitted he had cars on the lot, but he was confident in his knowledge of the maintenance light, and directed my wife, who was now crying in frustration, to the airport office.
When asked if there was a supervisor I could speak with, Alan told me d it was Mo Johnson. I asked for her office phone number and Alan to me it was confidential. She was aware of the situation, but did not want to talk to me. Mo Johnson is the Territory Performance Manager and was apparently unwilling or unable to speak with me. Alan must have gotten tired of talking with me because he place me on hold long enough that the phone system directed me to the Avis national reservation line. I tried several times to call back but the lines were had been forward to the national number. Well played Alan, well played. Ignore the problem just like you did with my wife and the light on the dash.

I can only guess why Ms. Johnson would not want to speak with a customer who has an issue and why her information is confidential. Maybe she is in witness protection or dodging a debt owned to a loan sharks. I can only guess she also may have been too busy training new employees how to reset the maintenance lights on vehicles or how to pass the problem onto someone else.

Ms. Johnson has worked for Avis since 1989, and doesn't like conflict. Ms. Johnson, if you cannot handle speaking with an unhappy customer then get out of the retail business. Have some courage to talk with unhappy customer. Don’t cower behind a shield of “confidentiality” and have your minions fight you battles. Better yet, call Fernando at the Modesto CA branch. You could learn a lot from him. Better yet, give me a call, I spent four years renting vehicles. I can give you and your staff some tips on customer service.

Three hours later, my wife got another car at the Phoenix Airport. I would avoid this branch unless your traveling through Mesa and your car’s maintenance light comes on. In the event this happens, then Alan is your man. He will dazzle with lightning quick maintenance light resetting skills and get you back on the road in a jiffy. Nervous? Don’t be, Alan back his work that you will have no problems, but keep that roadside number handy just in case.

The location on Country Club Dr in Mesa AZ is the best! I have rented at least 10x from them and their customer service is always 100% Thank you Mr. Johnson for being so picky with your employees!

This man who is in charge said and I quote, "we don't operate on verbal agreements, " he said this due to the fact he told us he would offer us an additional driver later to find out he was going to charge us alot more for and this which I was never explained the additional charges. So when I asked him, he said I did tell you. I know with a firm account of what was said that's when he said basically that his word is untrustworthy. I don't like those business tactics. I would gladly pay the extra if charges are explained. BE WARE of crooks!

Great place, fast, friendly, professional service! Larry was a great staff member as it was packed (busy) and he handled it great! Fairly priced, newer equipment, an all around great choice to rent here!
