I was very pleased with the service at the Gateway Mall in Prescott, AZ. The staff was very friendly and provided excellent customer service. I will definitely use them again.

We've been A Hertz Gold Plus customer for many, many years. Unfortunately, Hertz's presence in Prescott, AZ is non-existent, and worse yet Hertz doesn't seem to care. Time to move on.

We found and latched-on to Avis Car Rental, specifically the Avis Car Rental operation in the Gateway Mall. A really convenient, friendly, and professional car rental agency. Kudos to John for his knowledge, patiently answering our questions, and his help securing our rental.

In short, you probably can do no better, or be better satisfied, than using this Avis in the Prescott Gateway Mall. The 5-Stars are well deserved.

DO NOT BOOK THIS LOCATION - Holiday 2021.

Employees took an unannounced vacation and closed their store until January 3,2022. We drove several hours only to find they were closed. Corporate was caught completely off guard and we had to drive several more hours to get to another location.

Update: Avis’ Social Media team helped remediate the situation.

We had to rent a car for our daughter a day before we needed it because a different rental agency canceled our reservation when they changed their payment policy. Randy at Avis was very helpful and found us a car at a great rate. When circumstances changed and our daughter had to extend her stay, he extended the same rate for a longer period. Later, when her apartment was still not available in Prescott, Randy waived the one way charge and allowed her to drop the car off at her home town in Indiana. Very friendly and helpful; I highly recommend Avis at the Gateway Mall in Prescott.

I have always gotten a great vehicle that is clean, low mileage and at a reasonable price. This past time, the availability was limited because of the location. Yet, I still was able to have a great looking rental that fulfilled my driving needs. I have accounts with two other major rental companies, yet Avis has been the one who has come through every time.

My daughter and I rented from avis for one while month. The attention was fantastic and friendly with efficiency. We will rent again from avis.

We made the reservation 2 months ahead of time because we are traveling with 2 people with special needs: one with autism and one that is medically complex. The idea was that by booking in advance would not only save money, but time as well.
When we arrived at the Avis counter in the Richmond airport, the lady asked if we could take a smaller vehicle as we are standing there with 4 large suitcases, 3 additional people, a wheelchair stroller and 4 backpacks. ABSOUTELY NOT!
The lady told us the wait would be “a few minutes”. We were told to go to the garage to pick it up after waiting about 15 minutes which seemed reasonable. We went up to the ice cold garage where we waited an hour for the car to be ready. We had to entertain our children by trips up and down the escalator and by watching a fire truck by the lower entrance. After being on an airplane for countless hours coming from Phoenix, this was less than fun. We were told that the reason we had to wait is that they had several requests for vehicles and they were cleaning them. Obviously they do not know how to plan in advance.
After over an hour we received our SUV, which we had to walk across the garage to get, dragging all our luggage as well as wrangling our offspring, as opposed to having it delivered which the previous customers were blessed with. We got in and drove away opening the windows because the chemical smell was over powering. Needless to say the child was less than thrilled. We noticed the spots on all the windows and hand-prints on the windows, but certainly did not want to wait even longer to have them cleaned off.
The following morning when we opened the car it immediately smelled like vomit. We had to stop at a convenience store to get an aerosol spray and an solid air freshener. I am sure you are wondering why we didn't return the car; the answer is because we were an hour and a half away and had plans with family members who were recovering from cancer surgeries.
My husband repeatedly contacted the manager at Avis at the airport immediately after we returned home and none of his phone calls or emails were answered. He left a poor review and another individual contacted him and again after repeated emails saying“we are looking it. ”, we gave up.
We want to let every everyone know that a horrible customer service Avis has. We are hoping to help other families traveling with persons with disabilities know that Avis is by far the WORST car rental agency to use. The fact that our child with a compromised immune system did not get sick riding in the “pukemobile” is amazing. The lack of concern by Avis is beyond appalling. Avoid the hassle and heartache and NEVER ever rent a car from Avis!

I have rented from the location at the mall a few times, and each time there was an issue. There is only one person working the desk, Randy and he is not pleasant, and seems to rush you off. The last time I rented from him, he was actually sarcastic I will not be recommending this business location to anyone. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the prices are reasonable and the location is easy to find.
