I had my 3rd baby at Banner Gateway Medical and I had the best experience. The nurses were amazing especially Debi and they treated me with a lot of care.

All right I definitely understand why this hospital has a 2.8 review. All the comments and reviews are spot on this hospital is completely backwards. Long story short I shouldn’t have to spend 4.5 days inn, your emergency room, observation area with acute appendicitis and inflamed liver with a Crohn’s flareup. You guys should have simply admitted me like the three doctors requested but Dr. Pittman denied their request three times and said I didn’t meet your criteria for a hospital admission. So how do I fit the needs to spend 4 1/2 days in the hot ER, using a dirty public restroom with no immune system. But I have an IV in my left arm an IV in my right arm and I have six bags of medication going in at once but I simply don’t fit your criteria. That’s a little bit ridiculous I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau also. I will avoid this hospital in, so should you all. I’ve been dealing with my liver disease and Crohn’s disease for over 19 years I’ve never met a doctor that would denied a basic admission Thanks for making me sit in the ER room for 4 1/2 days with no fan and very weak ac and don’t forget the sewer that exploded on your nurse and caused the observation floor to be extremely warm. And very uncomfortable due to construction. To come to find out they didn’t even contact my doctors. Such a shame. The sad part is you guys didn’t even clean my room or offer me a shower. This was literally the worst hospital stay in my life. I had to beg for everything. Tell house keeping to pull records on how many times my room was serviced? And please ask them how many times my bedsheets were changed I shouldn’t have to ask. Because they didn’t get changed.

Very disappointed and shocked with my visit today. The doctor and staff were great; however, the nurse Jeannie was terrible to say the least. Not only did she have a poor attitude, but also failed to assist me when I called for a nurse three different times due to pain. Instead I had to practically beg the three other nurses to have her come and check in. Also upon discharge she forgot to take my IV out and then said I couldn’t wait a few minutes to be picked up as advised by the doctor because she needed to “clean the room” and then opened the door to the room when I wasn’t even ready to walk out. After todays visit, I will not returning to this facility.

DONT GO THERE! UNLESS YOU WANT TO COME OUT IN A BOX. THEY SENT ME HOME UNRESPONSIVE! MY HUSBAND ASKED 4 TIMES ARE SURE SHE READY? SHE NOT RESPONDING. THEY SAID YES! BY TIME MY HUSBAND GOT ME HOME HE CALLED 911. COME TO FIND OUT I WAS STARRING TO GO INTO A DIABETIC COMA, YEAH MY BLOOD SUGARS WERE 21. THE STAFF NVR CHECKED MY BLOOD SUGARS. SO GO AT YOUR OWN RISK. BTW IVE BEEN USING BANNER FOR OVER 8 YRS. I WILL NEVER GO AGAIN!

All the staff and personnel are very friendly and professional. There are only a couple inconveniences while in the room at ER: one was the extreme cold temperature, and the second was the annoyingly constant text messages from "virtual assistant" bugging you with information that you already have waisting your cellphone battery while you think it's a text from your family waiting in the lobby. It's nerve raking!

I took my 7 yo daughter to ER Sunday night for "UTI" symptoms. Everyone was amazing with my little girl! From the young lady at the desk who signed us in, to the triage nurses, and her nurses Sarah, Anthony, and finally Thelma. My baby was uncomfortable and scared and these nurses took their time from their busy assignments to comfort her and care for her! I thank you from my heart for taking care of my little one! Oh and the doctors were also good but we know who the real heros are!

I severely sprained my ankle, thought that I broke it. Went to Banner Emergency at Higley. The entire staff from check in, to exam, to check out was amazing. Great Doc, RN and XRay tech. Super friendly reception staff!

Well our family doctor called my husband and told him to go to the e.r over a air bubble in his forearm muscle and could be an infection spreading due to an injury. So we went to the e.r they were so fast and this is 4pm in the afternoon on a Thursday. A nurse who was checking him in advised him it best to go to a orthopedic doctor first let them do the x ray and blood work before coming to the e.r.

We said that actually makes alot of sense. So that what we are doing. So we were in and out of there with in 40 minutes. The staff was very caring asked great questions and advised us the best option. Thank you e.r check in team you are the best! Spot on!

Highly disappointed with the care I received today. I went into the ED this afternoon with excruciating chest pain & shortness of breath. The front desk & triage staff were great very friendly. However after getting placed into a room the experience went downhill. I sat in excruciating pain for 2 hours before finally seeing a nurse or doctor in my ED room. In those 2 hours I had only spoken to the aid & a paramedic who I repeatedly expressed my pain to, yet still receiving no pain medication. Once I was finally seen by a DR, he spoke to me for a whole 5 minutes asking me a bunch of questions about my pain, only for him to tell me that all my tests came back normal & nothing was wrong. Despite my expression of concerns regarding my pain the MD left without giving me any type of diagnosis & placing discharge orders. Still in immense pain I requested to speak to Dr again practically begging him for pain medication as he continued to shrug off my concerns. After 3 hours of waiting I was finally seen by a nurse who came to give me something in my IV that was supposedly pain medication. However I was not given the name of the medication or dose as the nurse struggled with my IV that would not work, then handing me paperwork to discharge. I requested again pain medication that the nurse stated was given despite zero relief. I left the hospital in tears & now sit at home with continued excruciating chest pain (that the “pain med did nothing for), and pray that nothing is wrong despite everyone advising me to seek emergency care for my symptoms.

I’m 25 now with two kids but when I was 18 with my first child, I had come into the hospital in an ambulance because I had blood coming out and I was worried. I’ll never forget the lady who when no one was around came up to me and said “you’re wasting our time” before I was even checked into a room and evaluated. Randomly to this day I’ll think about it and I wish I could reverse time and say some nasty words to her. Other than that everyone else was kind and normal as they should be.

We came to the emergency room at 9: 30 on a Thursday night and the room was totally full. Our baby was sick, throwing up and we needed help for her. The room was full and so I told the woman at the front desk we would wait outside and she assured me that they would call our name outside or come to find us. She said that she added a note to our checking that we would be outside. We waited forever, and we finally realized that people who were in line after us were being seen before us, we got skipped over in line by about three people. We ended And she assured me that they would call our name outside or come to find us. She said that she added a note to our check-in that we would be outside. We waited for ever, and we finally realized that people who were in line after us were being seen before us, we got skipped over in line by about three people. We ended up being at the hospital, for about five hours that night. We could have gone home sooner if we had not gotten skipped over and if they had actually looked at the note, the woman said they would look at. Not easy when you have a sick baby who just wants to be at home asleep in her crib and you are first time parents who are scared and don’t know why the baby is sick.

I was admitted to observation the dr and nurse that I had were so awesome and caring during the night shift. I have a very rare disease and they made sure I was comfortable. As soon as the morning dr came on he cut my pain medication without seeing me. When I asked to see him the charge nurse came in. He remembered me from a month ago and how quickly I went from ok to having a hard time breathing and going to ICU. The dr finallly came in. I told him about my disease and asked him if he was fimiliar with it. He said I went to medical school. I said I’ve dealt with this for 15 years and I’ve had 2 comas due to it. He said this disease doesn’t hurt. Which isn’t true. He said this is my chronic pain which also isn’t true. He was rude and confrontational. He said I have too many patients to see. He said I can have my home pain meds. I threw them up. I have been almost 2 hours crying in pain. He came back in also very rude and confrontational he said I’ve seen various gi drs for my pain which isn’t true he wouldn’t let me speak. I have Gastro parenthesis. I have seen 2 drs in the same practice. I told h I wanted to get my husband on the phone he said that he wouldn’t repeat himself. That he doesn’t talk for an audience. I felt ganged up on. He said IV pain meds are only for fractures and people going for surgery. I unfortunately spend a lot of time in the hospital due to my illness. I have had 4 strokes and 2 major comas. I have no never been treated like this. He told me there is only 1 person in this whole hospital that can due ultrasound IV. So I can get something to help me not throw up. But I sit here in pain for 2 hours. He seems to not care nice seen my nurse twice. I’m so disappointed with this visit. I feel like no one cares. Justin is the only person I felt that cared. Dr Donovan is probably the worst dr I’ve ever had contact with.

This emergency department doctor was terrible. The nurses and staff were great. The doctor came in once and was going to discharge me without even telling us what was wrong. The nurse had to tell the doctor to come in before discharge.

I was discharged with the same ailment and pain I came in with with next to zero communication with the doctor. The doctor showed zero compassion or even an awareness of the rarity my unique condition causes. He could not confirm that he had spoken with my specialty doctor. He didn’t even bother to check on me when I spiked an episode.

I will never return here. The total lack of care from the doctor overshadowed the wonderful care I received from other staff. My specific care plan states to never take me to this hospital again. This is such a disappointment as my family is cared for in the Banner Healthcare system.

I will never ever go to this hospital again. They never looked at my injury. They just took an x-ray and sent me home. I had cuts and contusions they never looked at nor did they bother to clean them. If you go to this place expect the most minimal service possible ever. I wouldn't go to this ER if I was on fire.

Had two fall and hit head. Went to banner on Higley. Treatment was more than terrible. Didn't do much to alleviate pain. Second time I black ots, went to banner. My neurologist wanted me to see oncall neurologist there but they refused. Told them I didn't feel safe going home since needed help with walking. No pt order, they kicked me out. Said needed bed. They made me leave. Had 3rd fall again at home
Didn't go back. After 2nd fall and stating not feeling safe, they patted me on shoulder and said everything would be fine
My son and roommate had to call into work and try to work from home!

In late 2021 we used this Banner hospital for the birth of our child. Banner is in network for United Healthcare. Fast forward 12 months and we out of the blue receive an outrageous bill from Dr Anita Stola for a hearing test which is apparently out of network. We have worked for months to resolve this issue without any luck.

Beware of this hospital, as unknown to you, providers they use can apparently be out of network and will surprise bill you. How is this even legal?

Staff was friendly and was seen quicker than expected. Would rate higher but something was going on in labs so the nurses had to get blood like 5 or 6 times. It kinda seemed like they were annoyed for me, while I just joked about it being no different than the military.
