Bar 1912 reviews
15It’s very rare I walk out of a place. We can start with I called ahead of time, to Valentine, to confirm the kitchen was open. They stayed open till 11. We arrived at 10: 25. Kitchen closed. They direct us to 1912. We sit at a table, and a bar, that is open seating, has a server let us know that table is for someone else. I learn they are his friends. We order cocktails: me a rye, and one of their cocktails for my wife. My drink is dropped off, and then we wait. We see multiple patrons that sat after us receive their drinks. I approach the server and address it. I’m dismissed. I address it again. The frustration expressed by the server was unnecessary and as a person who has spent a lifetime in hospitality, he needs more training. The cocktail my wife got was bad, really bad. No longer wanting to engage the ill mannered server, I paid for my 13 dollar drink and we left. As we are going to the parking lot, the server runs out and screams at me to “have a great night” in a condescending tone. Decor was great, spirit list was strong, but the service and the cocktails need work.
I'm a vinyl record fan so this place is my exact vibe. Good music, low lighting, drinks and food. I will say it was late when I showed up and busy AF. Service was slow due to staffing I guess but conversation made the time fly. Don't come here expecting to much on the side of food/drinks and make a reservation.
This is the bar that Phoenix has been waiting for. Mid-century vibes, loungey furniture, and a fireplace all set the ambiance; dual turntables crank out music. I had "The Desert" (their play on a martini) ; it was so good that I stayed for a second one. Eclectic, hip, crowd around 11pm on a Thursday, though service slows down when it gets busy.
I really enjoyed the experience Bar 1912 has to offer. My friend and I were immediately welcomed and given a table. The food and drinks were very unique and delicious. The service from everyone was above and beyond. Even after the kitchen was closed they still put in an order for me. I would say the only thing that wasn't quite up to par was that the person assigned to our table wasn't as attentive and personable to my friend and I as she was to other people. Other than that I had a fabulous time. I would definitely go back.
What a hidden gem to relax and a have a cocktail in Phoenix, Az near UpTown.
I have to say the drinks are delicious, atmosphere classy and service is on point.
Very creative food menu
Music played on vinyl
Such a nostalgic speakeasy.
Praise to Owner for this one.
I come here on occasions and can't get enough of it.
Came in from Chicago for a wedding. I ended up being the entire wedding here because of the vibes, the drinks, and amazing vinyl music curation. I would highly recommend this location. It’s one the best bar/ restaurant I’ve been to in PHX.
I guess I’m gonna be the first person to write a below average review.
The ambience is good I’ll give this bar that. We came in with high expectation. However, service is really really slow. Bartender basically ignored us to serve other tables. We had to wait for 10 mins and wave our hands to get someone’s attention to put in an order when half of the bar is empty.
Drinks are just really, really mediocre. Definitely not worth the hype.
Amazing cocktails, if you order a draft beer I think they only have Japanese beer but it comes in a perfectly chilled glass. Kind of an upscale place with great service, not a t-shirt and jeans place at all
Loved the hidden bar in the back. Open late 2am and friendly staff willing to explain and recommend some great options. Nice spot to take a date or just relax with friends.
Subdued decor, low vinyl music, and a menu that’s actually a love letter to the state of Arizona in disguise. This is arguably the best cocktail bar in the state. Perfect place to have a night.
Great experience, a must see restaurant, we got delicious appetizers and great mixes drinks. (There is a speakeasy in the back) Parking is free but limited, we got lucky street parking. We will definitely come back for more!
A simple, clean, cool bar. Cocktails, great atmosphere, they do a great job of transporting you to their little hideaway.
Drinks are excellent! Creative, not too sweet, excellent. Service when we attended was a little frazzled but three large parties showed up at the same time. Decor is great, high end, sleek. Go here before AND after eating at valentine. Highly recommend!
1912 is such a vibe. Venue is cozy and intimate but still can host a group really well. I have to say, they did a great job with the space. You can either sit at the bar, or there are also a few high top tables and then towards the back is a more lounge like area with banquet and cozy seating. And a fireplace Great for a date night or catching up with friends over some yummy cocktails. And they have snacks! We were headed to belly for dinner afterwards, otherwise would have opted in. Alas we will return. Service was great.knowledgeable of their game, moved fast but didn't rush you. Our cocktails were VERY good! They have unique spins to a few classics. Oh and spinning vinyl? ! Wow, chefs kiss!
Discovered this place back in November (ish) and it continues to impress. Low lights, cool jazz, and great cocktails.cannot ask for much more honestly.
Tucked behind Modern Manor, this little bar has a great soundtrack along with some of the best cocktails around. I enjoy coming here to either wait for a table @valentine or to get things started for whatever else.
Opens at a perfect time to get your night started with some good drinks and small plates if you can't figure out what is next! Love the fact that every time I come back its nice and busy, but never crowded.
So far the Woodland is my goto starter (and ender) but that's the bourbon drinker in me. I also love the Cotton. I tried the Cattle, love it, however it's more rich than usual so I tend to go back to my dryer bourbon drinks. They make a great Old Fashioned as well as its a full bar anyways! The small plates are great as well!
If you complain about price.you don't belong here, simple as that. Plenty of gin joints to choose from if your looking for a cheap drink. Raise your standard, don't try and lower someone elses.
