If there is anyway to put 0 stars, I would! One star is far too deserving for this school. If you want a school that will allow your child to continously be bullied this is your school! The school focuses more on academics than students’ overall well being. Children are made to think that as long as your excelling academically it is ok to bully other children, or at least I was made to feel that way in my experience. There were a group of children who continued to harass my child throughout the entire school year, but the administrators always looked the other way. My child finally took matters into his own hands to address the bullying as he felt the administration was useless, in which they are, did the administration finally take notice. However, it was not until I got involved that the deans began to take the matter seriously. And, still my child is the one who remained at fault. The deans clearly lack a level of professionalism and really has one question whether they are really equipped to be working inside a school. Parents are made to feel their child is the problem, when in reality, they have created a social environment that allows for students to taunt and bully other students. Academically, the school is ok, yes, the children are loaded with tons of homework that can be challenging in the sense that it keeps them busy. However, the school lacks to understand lots of homework does not necessarily mean the child is being challenged, when the child does not understand the homework or what is assigned of them. The school wants to micromanage the children into these academic robots, without giving them much time to breathe and be a child. I would rather have my child in a less academically rigorous school where teachers and administrators actually know what they are doing and have them be happy, versus a school that is set to belittle the child by making them feel they constantly have to push harder.
However, it comes to no surprise teachers looked the other way as my child was being bullied, as I was most recently threatened by a staff member. A staff member felt they had the right to come up to my window with my five year old in the car, and tell me quite aggressively to “ shut up”, when I explained to him he could not speak to me that way; particularly, in front of my child. He denied I had a child in the car, as my older child still had not come out yet. I had to roll down the window and prove to him I had a five year old, who was completely distraught and had to witness his mom being harassed. Moreover, I stepped out to get this staff member to back off as he continuously harassed me even after I rolled down my window, and he would not back off. It was not until another superior staff member asked him to step back and go inside. Even then he threatened me with saying he was going to detain me the next time I crossed his path, even though he was the one who approached my car and began harassing me. Is this really a school you want to send your child too, when a staff member, feels they are in the right to harass another parent? Deny the existence of another child, make the parent feel threatened? ! I honestly felt unsafe, and truly believed had the staff member not intervened, he would have assaulted me! If a staff member was able to make me feel that way, how can I expect the staff will ensure the safety of my son and see that the bullying against him is stopped? !

Good, but teachers are strict and some teachers care about academics more than the student. I have lost a $30 pencil pouch of items. I have also lost a lunch box because nobody cares even teachers about helping

This school isn’t the best. The food was expensive, so you either make your own lunch, or buy the overpriced food. And It was VERY tough. Not just the work. The struggle to get to every class while lugging around heavy books was hard. Getting home at like 5? Having to deal with almost 9 classes worth of homework? An hour for each subject? No thank you. The art teachers are nice. So is the 5th grade (pretty sure that’s the only grade they taught) classics teacher and science teacher. The math teacher was cool too. Tbh i liked all of the teachers i had. But, it was the STUDENTS that made this school hell. Unless you were a popular kid or in the close ring of em’, you were either garbage or like non-existent. Sometimes there are the nice kids, who actually like and respect you, sometimes there are the semi cools who will hang out in between everyone. But the bullies are the worst. Literal devils. They were so bad. They evil hell creatures may have calmed down, but if i were to show my face there again, who knows what i’ll release. But first, as a kind gesture of safety, let me tell you a story. *TEA TIME SISTER* Back when i went to Basis, I was being bullied. A popular girl, she looked pretty nice tbh, actually turned out to be a little devil whom would throw you off a ship for her own safety. Really. She made me feel terrible every chance she got. Usually PE. A general idea of why: I’m on the thicker side so she made fun of me not by saying i was fat but saying other things that i dare not say even online, for fear the terrible child shall awaken. I moved schools. For Three reasons. One, the bullying was too much on my small fragile brain. Two, the work was soooooooo hard. Like jeebus chrispy lord almighty it was hard. Three, my mom had to pay for all this stuff for me. We were not at all rich. I felt guilty. But it’s still a good school somewhat. The anime club is great. You can feel accepted. But really, the school, is so expensive, th teachers can be strict, PE is a pain (literally), and Bullies lurk everywhere. Want a better school, go to Carminati elementary. The school i changed too. Very respectful staff and teachers, kids are nice and no one gets bullied. A good middle school is Gililland Middle School. No bullies, usually, everyone is nice most of the time. The 6th grade advanced math teacher is great. So is the art teacher. Anyway, Hope I helped you!

In my opinion, I wouldn't recommend students to stay/go to this school. Their expectations are really high and they are money hungry. It is decent at 4th and 5th grade, but once you advance to 6th grade and up, the teachers get really strict. I had 3 teachers last year who were horrible and bias against me. One teacher was extremely rude to me and others. When people talk around me, my teacher quickly assumes that it was me that was talking, and I get points taken off my grade. Even if I try to tell her that I didn't talk, she wouldn't believe me. Also, when she told the students to get a piece of paper out, I ripped a paper and it hit my eye, so I cried. But, she still thinks I was "distracting the classroom" and had me write my name on the board so she would take points off. She not only did this to me but to others too. She wouldn't mind another student distracting the class and talking but when I even ask for a pencil, she gets mad. Another teacher I had was horrible too. I was working with my friends on a homework that was due the following day and they were talking, but she told me to go back to my seat, because when she hears talking that comes near me, she always thinks it's me.while they still talk. She grades the homework inaccurately and sometimes, I get a 4/8 for not showing my work when my work is clearly there. The last teacher I'm going to talk about is by far the worst teacher I even had. Ask any 8th grader that had her class. She was the worst. We would turn in assignments and she keeps on saying we never did it. She mainly targets the boys and if we crack a smile, she puts our name on the board. There are times where boys present their amazing project, and they get a decent grade. But when a girl presented her project, it was worse than one of the boys, but the teacher gave her EXTRA CREDIT for "great work". But the worst thing about her is that she doesn't know how to manage her classroom. People would be talking but all she does is write their names on the board. She never gives people a real punishment so people would continue to talk more. Again, just ask any 8th grader who had her class and they would tell you how HORRIBLE she was. There were some other bad teachers but they got nicer and better near the end of the school year. Also, the only thing I somewhat like about this school is their education. It gets you prepared for college and has some advanced classes. For example, you could take Calculus in 9th grade already.

I toured this school and filled out an application that was never finished because I still had not moved to AZ. Once I did move I tried to contact the school to come back and finish the application, but nobody ever answered the phone or called back after calling for a couple weeks.

Fast forward two months and they have sent me to collections despite my child never attending for a day and me never completeing the application OR GIVING THEM ANY ARIZONA ADDRESS.

I feel for a school with such good ratings, they did a piss poor job with me. Now I can't get then to answer the phone still (no surprise there) but at least the company they hired for billing is fixing the issue of me being billed even though I never enrolled my kid.

Just take your kids to Kyrene, they at least answer the phone.

I was bullied. No body really did anything. I mean I guess the education is good but the administration is money hungry. $8 for a lunch? I get that it’s from like Panda Express and stuff but I go to the DV now and they serve Chick-fil-A for a $1.35. This school thinks that they’re the top dogs but in reality it’s just a lukewarm school. They need to focus more on arts and music and English. When I was there I felt forced to go into STEM or math. Kids were forced into AP and honors classes. Teachers were good and nice.

The school is the good. The teacher is the very good. But I have problem with this school. It's the two money hungry scumbags Rogers and Nicole Kamp. They will do anything and I mean anything to get their hands on a single penny. The administration in this school is pure garbage. This is what I say to them, here is my middle finger, now take it and shove it up your arse. Other then that the teaching is good especially Ms Vo who I hope is not leaving.

Horrible, I had been bullied in there for 4 years non-stop. The teachers didn't do anything to stop the bullies!
