Completely & totally incompetent  In fact, I knew more about the law through my own research than their supposed "lawyers. "

This company is wanting money from me. Like a collection company. My mother passed away in January 2022.before she passed in the hospital. I'm sure my mother had medical bills.
This company. I even sent them the death certificate. Bass & Associates are bottom feeders. NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER TO ANYONE!
If they keep trying to pursue this issue.
I will have to get my lawyer involved.

Honestly the worst company I've ever worked for they treat all employees super disgusting and hire very sketchy people. I wouldn't trust my account being handled by this company ps don't say I didn't worn you.

This company does nothing but flat out lie! They claimed that I spoke to them in November to set up new payment arrangements after the care act expired. Not only did I not call them they didn't reach out to me at all saying payments needed to be made again so what happens you ask. I went into default and couldn't refinance my home. They refuse to acknowledge Ethan they are wring and constantly called me a loat what's the only solution is to pay off loan in full.

All you have to do is look up the names of the 5* reviews and you'll see they all work for the company. The worst kind of law firm. Can't wait for student loans to be wiped clear by our government so places like this eat all the loans they've purchased.

They want to know everything you've done for the last seven years where you lived, what your parents and siblings names are and their date of birth. Where they live. What you had for dinner last week. A pint of blood! I am sorry but this is too many Hoops to jump through just because you're collecting on student loans. I've collected on student loans and never had to do that plus training sucked. They don't know what the hell they're doing.

The incompetence of the student loan department is staggering. I've had to submit and resubmit documents at least a dozen times. They won't tell you what you're doing wrong, they're rude, and unhelpful. If you get saddled with these jokers, do anything you can to get your loan refinanced by a reputable, competent, trustworthy company.

Well, I had to let my student loans go into default for personal reasons several years ago. I am finally ready to deal with them. I have found the people I work with to be non-judgmental and extremely supportive. Yes the wait time can be an hour and I wish they’d do something about that, especially with the unemployment rate so high they should be able to hire more people to fit this need.

Not happy with the hostel customer service. Very difficult to get through to an agent. 8 out of 10 agents were not able to help you without deviating from a rigid script.

I am giving 3 stars for now and will update as the process goes. I received a negative posting on my credit karma which stated that I had a defaulted loan with the US Dept of Education. Now, I was under the assumption after consolidating all my loans in 2006 and successfully paying that off through AES that my college loan debts were satisfied in 2017. April of 2019 this appears on my credit report. I disputed it and it was taken off. In May 2019 I get a letter from Bass & Associates stating that I owe $10,000 on a $5,200 loan from 2000. I call AES and they say I’m all good. I get another letter in July 2019. Again in August 2019. Thinking it was just a simple glitch and it would be fixed I figured everything was alright. Mind you, I made attempts to call these people several times and after an hour or so on hold of hang up. Then I forgot about it. Fast forward to now, my husband and I file taxes, and get a letter yesterday saying our entire tax return was taken by the US Dept of Education. I call them, they say to call Bass & Associates to take care of this. I call. No answer after 2 1/2 hours of wait time. I call this morning. Wait 42 minutes and get a man named Kevin Rice who was quite nice and answered all my questions. Says this is a totally different loan than the ones I’m all paid up with and needs to be paid. Quotes me a price of $5,062.43 to pay it off in 85 days. Says around 6-6-20. This price was only dropping their collection fee and nothing else. Says it needs to be approved by a manger, helps me set up myself on the website and to wait for his call back in about 2 hours. He calls back in 3 hours. The price is now $5,742. He says the due date is 6-11-20. I already have looked on the website at this point, notice the price change and see that the due date they gave me is 4-11-20. I point this out to him and he says it will be updated ASAP. He swears the $5700 price is the price he quoted me. ITS DEFINITELY NOT. I don’t play when it comes to money. He wants to know how I’m gonna pay and when. Less than 30 days to settle a debt? How is that even legal? I tell him I want a contract sent out in the mail he says it will be in the mail on Monday. I will be waiting for it. We are NOT making a payment until the due date had been changed and I receive a contract to take to my lawyer should THEY screw this up. I’ll pay you your extra $700 to make you go away. I have always paid my student loans off but this loan surfaced after 20 years. No notices before this and I’ve lived in the same area and had the same job since 2004. I’m so easy to find it’s disgusting. The US Dept of Education MADE NO ATTEMPT to collect this debt for 20 years and wants these people to get it paid in less than 30 days? We will see how this plays out, but in the meantime I will be contacting the BBB, a class action lawyer, and the IRS. The website they gave me to pay through is myeddebt.ed.gov if anyone else is having issues.

Update: (3 days later) They still haven't changed the due date like they promised they would, and we get notifications whenever anything is mailed to the house and as of now nothing has been sent by them in writing from their office to my house. Attempted to call, 1 hour wait no answer, had to hang up. Changed to 2 stars.

Can't get in contact with them to set up payment plans. I've called and emailed with no response. They have an address listed for me that I've never lived at. What's a person supposed to do?

The WORST COMPANY EVER! Set up a rehab program to get my loans current. Did 9 months worth of payments when the IRS took my full taxes. When I called, they stated that I never completed the authorization to be in the rehab program because I didn’t provide a “wet signature” on a tax form. Mind you they were taking payments for 9 months without any notification. I asked them if I didn’t finalize the program how have you guys been taking money out of my account? They said well it’s a 2 part process. So after swallowing the bitter pill of $3400 tax return going bye bye I ask them how do I finalize the agreement, they told me I had to send some forms. I send it via fax and called back a few weeks later to follow up because during tax season it was IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of anyone. A rep informed me that they got some forms (mind you I sent them ALL at the same time, but they didn’t get page 2 of 5 and so they couldn’t finalize the agreement AGAIN. I asked how is it possible that you received every single page from a fax except a random page in the middle of the packet and she responded she doesn’t know but it happens often. I said no one called to tell me and she informed me I have to keep calling to make sure they receive everything. She then informed me that if my financial worksheet revealed that I could pay more than the monthly payment we had agreed on verbally at the beginning, that I would have to START THE PROGRAM ALL OVER AGAIN FOR 9 MONTHS and those other payments I’ve made for the past 9 months would not count. This company has the most outrageous rules and never follow up with clients and make it impossible to get current on loans. I am very saddened because any little mishap will set you back YEARS of progress.

My student loan is in default, and my federal income taxes were taken. I don't see the point of being in a rehabilitation program when your taxes still get taken smh. Not only that, I pay my $5 a month by being taken out my checking account and it still consider being paid late instead of being paid on time. The worst smh

I cannot rate because they never answered the phone. I have called over 5 times and still no answer to resolve my issue. I have not ever encountered a business that doesn't answer. I don't understand!

The worst! Very fraudulent! I called to make a payment, the representative gave me the option to make 2 payments at once. Those last 2 payments would’ve completed my program. I get a letter in the mail stating I never made my last payment and my loan is in default. When I called to resolve the matter nobody can tell me what happened. The only option I was given was to restart the process all over smh. My tax refund will be garnished because these idiots don’t know what to do.

This place is the best. They always answer my phone calls and they have been way more than patient with me paying them in regards to my bankruptcy. Everyone that talks to me is very professional and nice. I owe this place more than just money. Thank you Bass and Associates for making my bankruptcy account so non stressful.
