BOCA by Chef Maria Mazon reviews
21 Made reservations, but they only accept reservations for parties of 4 or larger. Waited nearly an hour after our reservations to get a table.
Once seated, the service was acceptable and the food was decent, but the seating process kinda colored the whole experience.
If you saw chef Maria on Top Chef and got excited to see her fresh infusion of flavors and delicious food, then this should be your first stop for a meal on Fourth Avenue.
Cute patio and pretty good service. Great happy hour specials. Food was meh. Salsa flight was fun but the guacamole was under seasoned. We had several tacos. Fish and shrimp were great but the quality of the beef and pork was not good so even though the flavor was there we couldn't eat them. It was a bummer because I was really looking forward to eating there!
This is a quaint "hole in the wall" with yummy authentic tacos. I had cauliflower tacos and tofu tacos. The chips and salsa are all fresh and delicious. Small location with good service and great food!
Service poor, drinks ok, and food ok. Was brought the totally wrong dish, would have eaten it, but it wasn't vegan. Didn't even get the item taken off our bill.
Patio and restaurant is very clean. Service was slow but friendly. My opinion.the food is overrated. I requested a burrito to include beans and rice inside and they refused.said it was sacrilegious. The fried fish taco was overcooked as was the shrimp. I had high expectations. I'll try it again in the future just to give it a second chance.
This place was fantastic! The food was delicious and the service was great. The bartender even took time out of his side work to talk to us about the different types of tequilas the bar had and which were his favorites. The food tasted excellent and the pricing was fair. Will definitely be back if I'm ever back in town!
We enjoyed a nice time last evening at Boca. The tacos were very basic, my shrimp was over cooked, but the Boca balls, warm chips & salsa as well as the drinks were excellent. Our waiter Taylor P was awesome.
Terrible experience tacos are super cold and there are tons of flies even when you went inside it was hot as can be with the AC running not a pleasant experience.
If you're visiting Tucson you shouldn't miss the experience at BOCA Tacos Y Tequila. The Staff are all very friendly but the tacos are exceptional.
The tacos here are wonderful and the tortilla chips are some of the best I've had. The salsa selection is great, would be nice if they gave more for the giant bag of chips they have. Overall a great dining experience
This place is definitely a delicious pocket of delights. They definitely need to work on their table seating arrangements. Saw many tables open and seating 2 customers in a table of 4 and so on. There is no urgency to seat people quickly. Other than that food is great!
Ive been here multiple times and the food is so good. Very filling and worth the price. Drinks are fantastic if you like bar drinks. Water is served in reusable container which is actually pretty cool, the salsas are all unique but tasty. Sometimes they run out of certain dishes so plan to show up early.
Great food and really good service. We were a large party (11 people), separate checks, and our server did great! Try the boca balls, so good!
So good! Our favorite taco was the Macho Taco but they were all delicious. The salsas were unique and added even more great flavor to the tacos.
The Octopus was delicious definitely would order it again, Drinks not to my taste, very sweet I prefer sour, I would give it five stars if not the fact that we specifically asked for sour drinks and we got sweet ones both times.
And I'll give it 4 because my wife looked scintillating with the outside decor.
Great spot for late night tacos. Kinda weird to have cabbage in my tacos but I guess that's a Tucson thing as I am used to LA tacos. They run till 10pm so get your taco fix while on the prowl for fun bar time. BTW, the best salsa is the crema salsa. Spiciest of the bunch!
This place is amazing. Restaurant week here in Tucson and ya gotta go there. This place knows it's just not food, but service along with good food is the ticket. These guys have it all. Chef also came out and spoke with us. She is an awesome person and the food she thinks up is beyond epic.
My wife's lunch what was a Mole taco which was very good. I got the al pastor taco. Half was me the other half was fat. I told the waiter I wanted something else and he just brought me back more meat with tons of fat. Horrible experience.
Everything was wonderful! The best Elote my husband and I have ever had and we lived in Sonora, Mexico for a year! Great service and great salsas. Thank you, Chef Maria!
