Brown Mug Cafe reviews
16It may be small restaurant but the food is delicious. I normally get the burgers and fries, also the menudo.
The burgers are on point. Solid patty and lots of fries, although the fries are just okay.
Avoid that Navajo taco. It is just a can of beans smeared over fry bread. You’re simply buying beans and bread y’all. You’ve been advised.
The dining area is small, very dusty and dank. It was a popular hangout with the baby boomer generation. Booths are rackety, bench seats are ripped, etc. It’s a hole in the wall.
Local diner with a quirky vibe, relaxed vibe. Place was packed. Kids enjoyed themselves and the good was good with huge portions.
Surprisingly very good Mexican and American food, the food came out on time and the servers were very helpful. I would give it a 5 star but the bathrooms were not maintained well.
Food is always delicious, service is surprisingly fast even when it was packed. My fav place to eat in Slow
The Navajo Taco was sooo good!
Sat at the table where Harrison Ford sat years ago! Restaurant sits on old Route 66.
Highly recommend!
Food was different than we are used to eating but was still decent it took a little time to pay our bill as the server seemed to be in charge of tables and register this is the only reason I gave a 3 star otherwise I would of given a 5 star
Local Cafe that's been a go to plsce for locals. Food is not exceptional but good for small town. Chicken enchiladas were smallish with need for more filling. Rice with meal needs work. That's all I'll say. Beans were fine. And of course all Mexican meals came with sopollias & honey. Best part of meal. Worth a try when in Winslow.
Brown Mug is the best in Winslow. Been going there since I can remember. Food is still awesome, and the hospitality is still great. A must if you're in Winslow, Az.
This was in my beef taco. It tasted like an old hamburger patty. I literally think it was leftover from hamburger pattie’s made for kids meals the day before. Service was friendly.
Amazing mexican food- very flavorful! Just a shame I live 3 hours away. I'll be coming here again when I travel back through this area!
Above average been there for ever eatery. Top notch Red and Green Sauces. Many locals there late in the afternoon. Definitely a repeat.
Thanks for a wonderful lunch stopping on our way to Sedona, Arizona.
It was wonderful to be able to eat and not worry about the bikes. Navajo tacos highly recommended.
I know, know… this place is getting good reviews. For some, this may have been THE BEST Mexican food they ever had. The food was “OK”. As I noted to the waitress, the Brown Bug was featured in Arizona Highways. Ok, Ok, perhaps folks with some pallet tasted their food. I ordered shreded beef enchilada — it was ok. I could have the same plate well garnished at other restaurants that serve excellent Mexican food. The service was great but it did not make the food taste better.
Definitely room for improvement the staff was cordial and very nice but I was a little disappointed with the fry bread as it tasted old not fresh not very flavorful sorry folks
The food was out of this world. Great service and the atmosphere was fun. Fast and friendly service. The chips and salsa were delicious. We had the Navajo tacos and enchiladas- everything had a great flavor and was very filling.
