Budget, Prescott AZ

If I could I would leave zero stars. Both the Google and Budgets Customer service said pick up was available as I was staying in a hotel that was across the street. I would have walked but the street was a 6 lane highway. When I called to have them pick me up I was told that they do not do pick up. So I had to call a cab to drive me across the street.

Once I was ready to go to the car. The attendant told me the vehicle was in slot 9L (this Budget location is in a mall with multiple shops and a very large parking lot) with no further information. It had snowed the night before to the parking lot was covered in snow. I wandered around the parking lot looking for the car for about 5 minutes then trudged back to the Budget front desk and ask if they could help me locate the car.the attendant then said "it is in front of the white building" and proceeded to get on the phone and give no more information. I trudged back out into the parking lot looking for a white building and went up and down the parking lot in front of the white building with no luck. I then went to the completely other side of the parking lot and found the car. The car was covered in about 4 inches of snow. Once I was in the car it showed me the warning that the car needed to be serviced and get its oil changed. I this point I was so late I could not go back to the desk and get a replacement. I was driving from Prescott to the Phoenix Airport and the entire way down the mountain the car vibrated like the tires were not properly aliened. All this for $168.75. Absolutely terrible customer service.

Regarding the Prescott location. My family needed to drop the car and key off. It was closed the day they were supposed to returned. One of the customer service agent said they were open 8am - 1p. It was very difficult to find where to return and park the rental car. There was no signage. The lack of signs and support made it very difficult. A simple thing to do became more complicated but it didn't have to be that way.

Experience was anything less than satisfying. Upon arriving the budget employee working informed us that the vehicle we reserved week in advance was just returned same day, and the previous renter had animals in the vehicle. He said they tried to clean it as best they could but they couldn’t get all animal hair out… he also informed us it was the only vehicle he had to offer us and that this location was closing at 1: 00 (it was already 11: 30). This vehicle was DISGUSTING and smelled so horribly of animal urine. Nothing was wiped down or sanitized, it was very lightly vacuumed at best. It’s January, COLD and we had to ride with the windows down because the smell was so over whelming. I’m not looking for a refund but I wanted to express how unprofessional it was to even offer this vehicle to rent. I will not use or recommend this location.

Great service, great price, great vehicle. From reservation to pick-up to return, the entire process was a breeze.

I used budget very often.good customer service and the cars are usually clean (now fully sanitized) and good drop off option when the office is not open. I like that. I will continue to use them when I travel.

My wife and I received a rental from the Budget at Phoenix Sky Harbor that had an entire host of problems (way too many to list). After driving the car for three days, we finally felt unsafe traveling in the car. We arrived at the Budget in Prescott where Mr. Randy gladly exchanged our poor car for a much safer car that was actually a couple classes higher than our original rental. The entire process took less than five minutes and we were back on the road with a sound mind concerning the safety of our rental. Huge thanks to Randy for helping us and providing excellent customer service.

If I could give 29 stars I would.
Mike saved the trip.
Had a reservation at enterprise showed to NO car NO apology could careless less!
Stressed out I call Mike at budget airport.
Got me in a better vehicle less money!

I just rented a vehicle from them for a week and it was a super clean car! Randy was the one who helped me both on the phone and in person! He was very informative and nice! If I ever need to rent a car again i will be renting from them for sure!

I had a wonderful experience with Budget Car Rentals. A friend who rents all the time for business recommended Budget and said Randy is always a great help. I was driving alone to St George, UT to visit my 82 yr old dad recently admitted to a convalescent hospital. I was staying 3 days and I wanted something dependable since my car is old. To my surprise Randy upgraded me and asked if I'd like a Mustang, laughing thinking what my grand kids would say when they heard this I said sure. It made the drive so much fun and when I told my dad he laughed and had a twinkle in his eye. Thank you Randy and Budget you put some joy in what would have been a sad trip. I'm so glad I went and I'm grateful for the experience. To top it off I did the prepay and Budget went through my Amazon account and I got a $14.92 gift card rebate. I may not get a Mustang again but I will defiantly be back it's so quick and easy.
