Budget Car Rental, Flagstaff AZ

Upon pick front desk guy was friendly fast service. However after picking up car I noticed the car was not cleaned dog hair all over back seat and trash under driver side seat. Then I was charged for late drop off which i returned it 1 1/2 early. NOT SATISFIED WITH BUDGET

TLDR Budget’s website allowed me to make a reservation, Budget didn’t have any of the equipment and did nothing to make it right

I made a reservation for a truck and car carrier a little over a day before I needed them. I got digital confirmation. When I went to pick up the truck, I was told there wasn’t a truck available. Not only that but apparently they don’t even do ANY tow reservations in Flagstaff. They were surprised I was even able to make the reservation, apparently they don’t take rentals less than 7 days in advance. And yet, there I was with all the confirmation information. Nothing on the website about this.

Called customer service, they sent me to the “inventory manager” who told me there WAS truck, and to call the owner. Called the owner of both the Budget locations in town. No, they don’t have the truck after all. Not only that, they weren’t going to help me find a truck elsewhere or do anything to make it right. After some back and forth the owner stopped engaging and just kept repeating “we don’t have a truck for you” until I gave up.

The website has no connection to the actual inventory available, customer service will do nothing for you. Do not EVER rent from this company.

I rented a car through Hotwire. The agent was so helpful. We were headed to The Grand Canyon, Andy, the agent gave us excellent information about visiting The Grand Canyon. He also let us know that with the severe storm approaching the road in and out might close.

Budget does not give any power or authority to the stores. I had to wait until after I turned in my van, that I got instead of the 12' truck I reserved, to call customer service to get it straightened out. I could've had another truck if they were allowed to change the batteries of the ones in the parking lot. But they have to tow their trucks to Phoenix to get any type of work done. How is this company even still in business. Must be nice to waste money to tow trucks hundreds of miles, just for a battery change. Oh yeah, you make up for it by charging the customers out the A**, for any and everything.

Worst customer service in my entire life. Kai (the employee working this morning 9/10/22) was extremely rude and combative. Threatening to call the police after I asked him why he was vacuuming a car when my 82 year old mother was standing at the counter waiting to turn in a rental car. I asked him to help her and the other lady waiting at the counter and he told me “its gonna be a while” as he was vacuuming a car. I explained that my mother and the other patron were waiting unattended at the counter. He again stated it’s going to be a while…I snipped back at him, “wow, great customer service”. His retort was “it’s about to get worse”! He then marched to the office and told my mother and me “to get out or I’m calling the police”. She was visibly upset and confused as to why he was yelling at her. We left and we’ll never do business with this branch ever again.

I’m placing a call to corporate as well. I’d love to talk to the manager Darron Story about this also.

Don't trust this rental agency and go somewhere else, they are completely dishonest. First, I got a car with the gas tank almost empty (got a warning "50 miles remaining" after driving 15 miles), but the document indicated that tank was full. I never had any problem until now so stop checking, but for sure I will resume. Moreover, I gave back the car one day in advance (at 10 pm), outside opening hours (which I asked to do when taking the car) : they registered the return at the closing time of the following day, such that they could count one extra day. So in total we paid more than 100$ extra for a 500$ booking.
Note also that they also opened late, are understaffed and we had to wait 30 minutes to get the car with only two persons in front of us. I would definitely recommend going to more serious and honest rental agencies, and personnally I will avoid Avis/Budget next time.

How does this company stay in business when they don't have any cars to rent? They didn't want to help find a car either. Rates are inflated in Flagstaff. I'd rather go to Turro.

Came here to pick up a budget moving truck! California was 3grand and here was only around 400$ total trip from Arizona to California and final destination Washington. It was a mission but totally worth the drive to save a ton of money$$. Since everyone was leaving California ASAP, any reservations was a few months wait to almost 4 months and super expensive. We couldn't wait that long and we had to move right away so we planned our course and did it! By the way this was around July of 2020 when we did crazy long trip. The staff here is very friendly and helpful! And it went super smooth. Anyone trying to move out of California just drive for a few hours to save alot of $$.

Budget/Avis in Flagstaff has always provided me great service. Today I was especially impressed by Lexy, who was able to help me in a pinch, while also serving a seemingly nonstop rush of people come through. Thank you Lexy for all your help today with my complicated reservation, you are amazing!

Rude. Un willing to even search other options. I was treated like I was not a priority at all. I left.

Budget will allow you to reserve a car at this location from 1pm and later (which will be unbeknownst to you as a traveler) and will attempt to extort you for additional airport rental fees.

Really nice people behind these counters. Great price for a car rental comparatively speaking.

Every one is nice, courteous, professional and caring at Flagstaff, Arizona Budget locations. Have been a customer for 25 years and never had any complaint or concern. EXECELLENT/OUTSTANDING.

Car needed mAintenance: air bag failure warning light on, oil change past due warning, 1qt low on oil, windshield washer fluid empty. This felt more like I was borrowing someone's used car instead of a well maintained rental vehicle.

Not happy with them at all double charged my credit card still haven't received refund

The staff at Rt. 66 flagstaff is fantastic. By far the best rental experience I have had anywhere.

Staff is friendly but the car was not cleaned thoroughly, tire pressure warnings and light notification on. Took it back for them to look at, was told that's normal. The car drives (some sort of Kia) so that's a plus.

The car was filthy inside and outside. Our reservation was for a nonsmoking vehicle and the car wreaked is cigarette smoke. The back left tire was almost flat but not discovered until we were too far away to return the vehicle. And this was the alternative vehicle to the first offered which had a badly stained interior. I called customer service and was told I would be given a monetary refund yet there was no note in my record upon return of the vehicle. We are beyond dissatisfied.
