Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Phoenix - CTCA, Goodyear AZ

I have been a patient here for a couple of months now fighting cancer. I have carcinoma cancer under my left arm. From the very first day I walked through the doors, I have been treated very good. I like everyone I have had the pleasure of meeting from the doctors to the pharmacist if I named them all this review would be like a book. If I have to go through everything I am to beat this cancer, I would NOT want to be anywhere else than right here. There has only been 2 people I met that aren't my favorites but that's pretty good. I like to cut up and laugh especially when I get nervous and one doctor, doctor Wittenberg said I had a large personality. I love trying to have fun going through this, it's much better than worrying. CTCA Goodyear, thank you very much for everything you do for me and the fantastic staff. I really wouldn't want to be anywhere else fighting this cancer.

Had one of the worst experiences here with Dr. Cynthia Lynch. Please do yourself a favor and use someone else, I am too exhausted to explain what she has put me and my family through.

I was diagnosed with a melanoma on my left cheek. I underwent surgery and it was very successful. All of the medical needs are under one roof, from x-ray, to MRI, to surgery, to a pharmacy, to a hotel, to a great cafeteria. They picked me up from the airport and dropped me back off on all of my pre-and post visits. I cannot recommend them more highly.

I have been a patient here for just over a year. This place has been awesome. I got my first appointment within a day of calling n everything has been smooth sailing since. Everything from appointments to tests/procedures n treatment plans were explained to me n I've never felt rushed during any visits. Every single person I've dealt with has been kind, compassionate an friendly. The volunteers are just as kind as the employees too.

My father has been coming here just over a month now. So far, everyone has been so kind and helpful. We drive down from Vegas for his chemotherapy because the level of care exceeds that of which we received in Las Vegas. So far, everything has been amazing.

I Have Been a Patient at the Goodyear AZ location for 2.5 Years.
Four Days Ago my Newest Test Results show my Stage 4 Cancer has Significantly Worsened.
Then, 20 Minutes Later Another Physician told me I am Being Taken Off All My Pain Medication.
Now this Just Happened Two hours Ago I Received a Call from CTCA in Goodyear AZ.
I WAS TOLD THEY WILL NO LONGER SEE ME AS A PATIENT!
They Only Care About PERCENTAGES AND NUMBERS. They DO NOT CARE About Their Patients.
I Have Never Been so Heartbroken and Devastated over anything in my entire life.
I Feel So Stupid because I Thought the Physicians and Medical Staff Actually Cared About Me. I AM SO HURT AND NO LONGER HAVE THE STRENGTH TO TRY TO FIND ANOTHER CANCER CENTER FOR TREATMENT.

Wouldn’t let me go in with my mom who survived stage 3 cancer for her checkup because i am under 18. (even if i was wearing a mask). We were sent to sit outside in 110 degree heat while someone asked if we could still go in, when we went back in to see is she could still go, they had forgotten about us. My mom had to cancel 3 different VERY important checkups.lack of empathy and rude people working at the front.

I worked here for two years while in undergrad for Dr. Sadeghi and Dr. Muilenburg. Aside from the inperfections of our medical system, the quality of the doctors here is next level. Each doctor is highly specialized in their respective field and are insanely knowledgable. I cant even begin to describe the amount I learned from the doctors there over two years. They truly care and do everything in their power to give the best care that they can. Since they all work in proximity to one another, their communication is superb. The urology department can visit with hematology, general surgery, and GI in a matter of 20 minutes and all be on the same page with a patients treatment plan. That is where CTCA excels. This isn't even mentioning the communication with nurse navigators, care coordinators, intake specialists, MA's, and scheduling. I reccomend everyone I know with a recent cancer diagnosis or need for a oncology workup to this place.

I'm saddened to see so many recent poor reviews mixed among better yet old reviews from several years past. I don't think this is representative of the care and compassion CTCA provides. My eyes have been opened to the true and deserving way we all should be treated when faced with a medical condition. Professionalism practiced, great care given, healthy life restored, and my never ending gratitude extended. Thank you, CTCA. Now if you only serviced cars.

Do not go here they can not get it together you are told one thing and it never happens. Was scheduled for a procedure at 1: 30 was not taken in till 4: 00 with little to no explanation as to why, until I was actually in the back a nurse finally informed me. Today was my follow up with the gi team was sent several different appt times by text and email only to log on for what I thought was my appt time to be told I missed my appt and needed to reschedule. This place needs to get there communication skills together like people don’t have enough stress with what is or could be going on to add the lack of communication! Beyond frustrating.

Just a question does this facility have rooms to stay in, if so what is the charge, and do they pick you up from the airport

The gi team constantly lies. They tell you one thing then do just the opposite. Poor COO of company not to resolve this problem

UPDATE: I just received bills for when the Dr called me and gave me my test results and for when I called and made my very first appointment with CTCA. What's next, a bill for the air I breathed while I was in their facility?

Update: I just received my medical bills from CTCA, along with the medical providers and procedure charges CTCA ALSO charges you for using their building. No wonder they have such a nice facility in Goodyear, AZ. CTCA is definitely BUYER BEWARE.

I called CTCA for a second opinion, they got me right in, scheduled me with 4 different doctors, an MRI, Ultrasound and several blood tests in a matter of 3 weeks. I was very impressed at first and now not so much, for I have received NO follow up, NO response, NO next steps even though they all said they would get back to me, a coordinator would contact me etc. I emailed the Radiologist with questions for treatment, sent a message through the patient portal and asked for follow up from the patient care facilitator and have gotten nothing. It appears all they want to do is schedule more visits and more tests?

Love the compassion and excellent care from the staff & support groups. Love my cancer family!

Dr. Sangal is the worst oncologist I’ve ever had the misfortune to have. If you get stuck with him, go somewhere else. I was given hope by a previous oncologist who unfortunately left ctca. So I was left stuck with Dr. Sangal. He doesn’t want to try anything on me and also does not let me speak or ask any questions. It’s obvious he wants to leave the room in a hurry. Doesn’t seem to care at all and I can tell he doesn’t want to be there. I was forced to get another opinion somewhere else. Mayo accepted me with open arms. WORST DOCTOR EVER.

My aunt was told she has a mass that appears cancerous. She was referred here and they were rude and uncaring. Told her to buy a different insurance plan because they couldn’t work with hers. She has Aetna and Medicare. Anyway they didn’t have any sympathy at all. Don’t waste your time here

For a million and one reasons I had no confidence in my doctors in Albuquerque. I went on your website just looking and before I knew it, a person was chatting with me. The information I got just off that
one conversation let me know I had to come to CTCA in Phoenix. How can I ever thank you enough for all that you have done for me? I have a team of doctors and other caregivers on my side and I don't have to worry about anything! Thank you for the professional, compassionate, and effective care you have given me! You removed all the stress and worries and let me just concentrate on getting better. Absolutely the BEST place in the world. My stress melts off the minute I come through the door. I am so very thankful and grateful for every last one of you (from the transportation team to the doctors). You truly care about people and it is felt!
