Stay away! I booked a boat on 6/27 for 9/20 and just got word today they are cancelling my reservation. I had to scramble to find another boat, which cost more in the long run. I do not see a refund on my credit card yet from the cancellation. I tried to call the number and voicemail was full. I am disputing the charge with my credit card company and Canyon Boat Rentals to refund the difference it cost between the two boats unless they can provide adequate reasoning for their cancellation. They would not allow us to cancel with this short of notice. Terrible business!

THIS BUSINESS IS A COMPLETE SCAM! One star is not low enough. I rented 2 boats and a jet ski from them a full 3 weeks in advance. Only to get a canned email 5 days before our scheduled rental dates saying my reservation was cancelled. THEY DID NOT ISSUE A REFUND! When I tried calling all of the numbers that I could find for them (they go by canyon boat rentals, wake life boat rentals, and aftershock watersports) every single number was either disconnected or had a full voicemail box. I sent numerous emails and texts over the course of 4 days trying to get a hold of someone only to end up having to file a dispute with my bank to get my more than $2,000 back. THEY ARE A SCAM. DO NOT TRUST THEM UNLESS YOU CAN TALK TO SOMEONE FACE TO FACE BECAUSE THEY *WILL* GHOST YOU IF YOU ARE OUT OF TOWN AND THEY KNOW YOU CAN'T REACH THEM BY PHONE. I called multiple other boat rental companies in the area and they were not at all surprised that Canyon Boat Rentals had done this to me. They have a notorious negative reputation. If you're from this business and by some miracle want to make this right with me, so I can take down this review, you have my information. Otherwise, *middle finger emoji*.

Buyer BEWARE. This company took payment over the phone a few weeks ago, and on the agreed date, NEVER showed up at Antelope Point Marina to deliver the boat.

Their main office is a shared office and the other company says Canyon Boat Rentals has abandoned the office as of last week.

Calls are unanswered, radio silence. Vacation ruined and filing a police report, as well as a fraud claim with our CC company.

Absolutely atrocious experience. First we are given no directions for how to get to the marina, so we are bumbling around as no one will answer the phone. Finally, we get a hold of the company and arrive to find an absolutely filthy boat with a battery that is on already…Sketchy but the person helping us tells us it’s fine. We end up on the water a full 1.5 hours after our launch time due to all this. We are towed to the launch and are told we owe them $50 additional to be launched. That was NOT told to us in the agreement but okay. Then, we get in the water and the boat doesn’t start. We call up to the office and they say they’ll send someone but they don’t (after we waited in the heat of course). So the person helping us launch takes us back to the office and we are jumpstarted from his car and he gives us jumpers to take with us. We finally get on the water - the boat can barely be steered, and throughout the day the boat stalled at least 6 times. Meanwhile, important to note the boat has no speed gauge or depth gauge or GAS GAUGE. We are approaching the marina to end our day and the boat utterly dies. We find friendly people to bring us back to the main marina, and the office in the meantime refuses to pick us up and help. A part of our group stays with the boat outside in 100+ degrees and the other half goes to the office. Office refuses completely to help us - they claim we have to book a towing service for $300. Absurd. We are waiting outside in heat and sun for 1.5 hours until finally we have to give in and get towed. After all this, this company ACKNOWLEDGES that the boat they gave us was faulty and that they intentionally ignored our calls for help. Thankfully, we ended up being refunded entirely, which is the only reason for the second star on my review. Don’t rent from these crooks. Also, I think these people operate under several names, so beware.

**Worst Experience Ever - Absolutely AVOID! **

I feel compelled to share my absolutely nightmarish experience with Canyon Boat Rental. This company is simply the worst nightmare for anyone looking to rent a boat. I booked a boat with them, and it was a huge mistake that I bitterly regret.

As soon as we arrived at the meeting place, it was obvious that something was wrong. No one seemed to have any knowledge of the company's existence. Worse still, when we interviewed those present, we were informed that company staff were no longer stationed here. This chaotic and disconcerting situation highlighted Canyon Boat Rental's total lack of organization and seriousness.

Didn't get to enjoy the sunny day I had planned, all thanks to Canyon Boat Rental. If you are considering doing business with them, I urge you to seriously reconsider. Avoid this company at all costs if you don't want to fall victim to their incompetence and dismissive attitude towards customers.

Scam, never returned the boat rented and paid. Do not answer the phone. They tried to charge our credit card twice.

MALVERSATION AND SCAM:
It could have made a good Netflix series if it hadn't trashed an entire vacation day. Taking this company would literally mean having you ripped off. €400 paid even though this company was banned from the port. And like any self-respecting thug, he took care to leave his offices and remains untraceable. From now on, it's up to the police to find him but above all one thing is certain, DON'T GO THERE!

Very bad experience, my family and I went and vacation & decided to rent one of these guys boats & and man we got home traumatized the boat almost sank on us very scary moments we went through. Not to mention the doors were broken & didn't even have life jackets. Very bad service we tried calling the owner for help & rejected to come n help. DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE GUYS AT ALL!

We have been loyal customers for years and it’s always been great. This year has been terrible. Rented the element 21 2 days with a break in between. First day the meet up time was 9am. They didn’t show up until 10am. They didn’t even bother to call us to tell us they were running behind so we sat there in 100 degree weather just waiting. When we asked for ETAs the responses were short and unapologetic. Once they arrived it took another 30 or so minutes to get launched. Again, no apologies and no call from the owner. The 2nd day was the same. Meet up time was 8am and the person didn’t show up until 8: 40am. No phone call from the company to let us know and again short responses. The first was “k” when we told them we had been waiting. Like WTH? ! Who runs a business like that? So rude! Then when we texted again they said he was here. He wasn’t! We saw him drive in 10 minutes after. We got launched quicker since we were the first of the day. Again, no apologies and no call from the owner.

Now to the boat! Terrible condition! Several seat cushions ripped and falling apart, broken speaker and the 2nd day the motor sounded like it was breaking! Any time we picked up speed it would make a weird noise and we would have to slow down. Totally ruined tubing. We had this boat last year and the owner said he was retiring it because it was too old. I heard there’s a new owner and clearly the boat wasn’t retired.

We will be looking into other rental options in the future.

BE AWARE! Go to another rental company! Don't let the many reviews and star rating fool you. This company was taken over by new owners in Jan.and if you look at recent reviews you will see they are a JOKE. They will take your money and ruin any plans you have for a nice day on the lake. I hardly ever write reviews, I am from AZ, and have rented boats many times over the years.this was by far the worst experience we have had warranting a review to hopefully help others find a safer option where they won't be subject to unauthorized charges! To start, I arrived at the office of Canyon Boat rentals at 7: 30am (30 minutes early) for our FULL day boat rental that we received confirmation less than 24hrs prior. While checking in, the owner was clueless about who we were & said he would go back to get our boat because it wasn't ready. We sat in the office for an hour waiting & during this time I received several emails saying my reservation had been cancelled & refunded then rebooked & recharged. Eventually the owner came back in and brought us back to the boat.he would not have mentioned the suspicious transactions on my card if I did not ask. He said there has been issues with the boat we rented and his wife (office manager?) was supposed to cancel it but didn't so he said he could either cancel it now or let us take it out and not inform us of the issues & "listen to us complain if something happens" or tell us up front (the day of the rental). We agreed to take the boat AFTER he showed my husband how to fix it if it were to break down.at NO point was a partial refund or even an apology offered (ever). By the time all of this confusion was resolved, we finally got to the boat launch around 11: 30am (we were supposed to launch around 8am & honestly I would have even been fine with 9am). It then took another 30-45 minutes for the valet to get us on the water (not the fault of the rental place) but we did not even get onto the water until after Noon for our FULL day rental. On the lake, my husband did have to fix the boat to get us running again (taking even more time away from us enjoying the FULL day rental we paid for). We also paid extra for water sport toys (skiis, wakeboard, surfboard) which were each supposed to come with a rope & flag. Not surprising, they did not equip the boat with ANY safety flags so we were unable to use the water sport toys. Which reminds me, the "pre-check" was a joke fortunately we know our way around a boat fairly well & we never completed any "post check. " Their paperwork had many parts that were illegible, and they didn't even take driver’s license information for any of us. The pics of the boats online must be many years old because they boat we rented was trash.the radio did not work, cup holders broken, and dirty. Following our HALF day on the water (at best). We shared some of our concerns with the worker who came to tow the boat back (actually very nice young man-he should take over before the current owners run the place into the ground). He suggested we call the office to report our concerns. The next day, my husband called to explain the situation while calmly requesting a refund for the half day and for the water sport toys we were unable to use. To sum up the interactions.the owner became immediately defensive saying we didn't fill it with gas (which we were never instructed to do so or where to fill the boat.oh yeah & the gas gauge was broken), which fine I’ll pay for the gas. The call ended with the owner yelling, hanging up on us, & then immediately blocking our phone number (mature & actually somewhat comical). Instead of receiving a partial refund, I actually received another new charge for the gas. We finally were able to connect with a female (wife?) who agreed to refund us for a half day rental but refused to refund the water sport toys & kept the gas charge. Again, no apology offered at any point. To conclude, these new owners of Canyon Rental are scammers and do not deserve your business.

Booked the boat months in advance. The day before our day out on the lake, we received an email about cancellation and refund by canyon boat rentals at 4: 40pm. We did not succeed to find another powerboat in such short notice! This was really disappointing as we locked in an extra day at Lake Powell to spend the day on the lake.
They did not phone us or give a reason for cancellation. I had read some similar reviews shortly before our departure from Europe for this westcoast road trip and unfortunately our worst case scenario became truth.
A scam, very unprofessional!

Called this place 2 weeks ago to reserve and rent a boat for 3-5 of July. Had 8 people from 3 different states planned on coming to lake Powell. Owner had terrible communication through text message and left us wondering for weeks if we would have a boat for the holiday and my birthday. Then proceeded to tell me to “ Woah dude call someone else I'm not the only rental company in town Jesus. ” Because 2 days before the trip I still had no idea if we would have a trip.

Canyon Boat Rentals promised a buddy of mine a rental boat for his birthday this 4th of July. They even stated that they could help him get another boat if this one wasn't done being serviced. After constant contact and poor response from Canyon, they simply canceled on him the day before he was supposed to pick up the boat stating the boat promised was still being serviced.
Now, 8 of us from 3 different states are left to rearrange our plans at the last minute. On top of cancelling at the last minute, the guy even got rude and refused to help my buddy find a boat to rent for his birthday. None of us are from, or live in Page, AZ but I would definitely not trust a company that treats their customers like they'll never come back before their even a customer.

Buyer beware. This guy is all about adding on extra fees. For example, we came back to the dock but they brought back the wrong trailer to get us so we had to relaunch and then wait for the new trailer. Becuase it took them so long he charged me $89 extra foe being "late. "

Oh and this is after he canceled our premium boat 24 hours before our rental but got us a lower quality boat that somehow cost $250 more!
I just don't trust him at all.

One more thing the boat was in tough shape and not clean. We found dirty underwear in one of the cubbies. I told him about it and they just laughed. So gross

In the video I show it wasn't full but he made me fill it up claiming it was a broken gage which might be the case but unverified

This company promised my roomate a boat for the 4th of July which is also his birthday. 8 of us from 3 different states were ecstatic to plan a trip to the lake to celebrate life and enjoy the beautiful lake Powell! After constant attempt to communicate with canyon boat rentals. And wondering for 2 weeks if we have a boat. Going days without a reply or update if the boat would be available We were left high and dry, just days before the holiday. And told “we’re not the only rental company in town” so I would say next time we’ll call another rental company in town 2 weeks prior and hopefully won’t have this disappointment.

Canyon Boat Rentals is incredibly unreliable. Me and 7 others were forced to cancel our 4th of July plans for a friends birthday two days before we were scheduled to pick up the boat. They had committed to having a boat available for us two weeks in advance. Terrible communication and when they did reply, they were extremely rude to my friend.

Rented a speed boat from Canyon on June 21st. They picked us up with all of our gear from RV park by Lake Powell Valet Boat Launch. Arrived on time and we launched quickly. Spent the entire day inner tubing on lake. Boat ran great. Highly recommend this company. Thanks again Canyon.

Very bad service we had to wait 1 hour to get our boat and they said the tube was free but then charged me for it the next day and then they charged me extra $200 for gas and never told me about that

We rented the 2019 Bayliner for a day and the boat is in rough shape. Torn up upholstery, broken plastic covers, bimini top loose, not super clean. Ok for a day but as a heads up, doesn't look like the pictures.
Also they advertise free drop off and delivery and due to their permit issues we were offered to pay $50 to bring to Antelope marina which was not convenient or pick up in Page. We picked it up but it added extra 45 min on each end and less time on the water.
Customer service and responsiveness also average. No return calls and several text messages to get a response.
So somewhat cheaper rental, you get what you pay for.

Don’t book these scammers. They overcharged me and are rude and disrespectful. They save your bank information and charge you the next day for items that they claim are “free”. I even gave them $50 tips. And the next day they charged me $190 for items that they claim are free. Also the boat is in very bad conditions, switching off on its own, making a signal sound and leaning to the right. Just get more reputable company without any hiding fees.
