It has been closed for some repairs (week of 20 Mar 2023) but no one answer the phone. Any idea what is going on?

We love going to this heated and well maintained pool. The water is always just right. I hear people remarking on it all the time. Feels great getting in, but not too hot to be comfortable while working out.

We go in the evenings during the week when it is adult lap swim only. They open it up for free swim on the weekend with a few lanes available for lap swimming from what I understand. For all but one time there has been a lane open for us where we do not need to share with anyone and everyone else has their own lane. The one time all lanes were taken it was about 2-3 minutes before a lane opened.

You do not need to be a serious swimmer. While we do the occasional freestyle or breaststroke lap or two, we mostly walk or jog in the water.

The first 3-4 lanes are just shallow enough for me, at 5'2", to be comfortable walking or jogging. The water comes up to the top of my chest. The other lanes are about that deep to the halfway point and then get way too deep to touch bottom. This is where the diving area is but it is marked and roped for lane swimming during lap swim. The pool supplies kickboards, the float wedges that go between your legs so you can work on your stroke only and the water aerobic belts so you can float upright in the deep end and do jumping jacks or whatever.

The atmosphere is laid back. The locker rooms are clean with warm to hot showers and there is an outdoor shower near the pool.

The price right now is free. I was told it will remain that way for at least until the end of the year.

Be sure to bring your face mask. They are required to get past the front desk to the locker rooms and, theoretically, in the locker rooms, although I have never run into anyone in there. This even though everything is so open you are basically outside in both those locations. We are supporters of safety first, so we don't mind at all, but if you don't like masks just be prepared. It may not make sense since you are all but outdoors but since there are walls and a ceiling they must require them to follow the city guidelines. And.in my opinion it is a small price to pay for a free, well maintained heated pool to swim in with no kids and a very relaxed atmosphere!

Pool was dirty couldn't help to feel the dirt and debris. How many times a week does this pool get vaccumed if any. I myself work for a Tucson known pool company. In which we have accounts bigger than this pool and there always clean.
I think maybe the city should sublet out the cleaning and chemicals to a outside vendor. Because it's obviously something that cant be done on a regular basis with the employees u have.

Great local pool! You just walk in and swim at no cost, no questions asked. They have swimming boards and floaters. It's reasonably clean, and most days the water is reasonably warm. The staff are polite and friendly. I wish they expanded their hours to start a bit earlier from 11 am straight to 7 pm (without a huge gap in between) as occasionally the pool does get full and you have to wait for a spot up to an hour or come back later. The one caveat/downside is that the hose/shower to rinse beside the pool is meager -there's just not much water coming out, and the water that does come out is *freezing*. Since the locker rooms are closed due to covid, a functional outdoor shower for rinsing with warm-ish water before and after swimming is even more necessary.

Very affordable price for laps; pool is pretty old but clean. Lots of lanes. It wasn't very busy on a Tuesday night.
