Cave Creek Museum reviews
8It was such a sweet place to visit! A lot of great information and incredibly family friendly! We missed them running the press machines but we we are looking forward to checking it out next season.
Small museum but still spent about an hour and a half here! Workers are incredibly friendly and informative. Wonderful experience!
It's a small museum but the pieces for the Archaeology wing are very well curated. We missed seeing the Gold Mining exhibition working, as it only runs on the 2nd Saturday of the month. Volunteers are nice people eager to explain you everything.
Nice smaller museum with a lot of great history. This Hohokam territory was known for mining gold in the mid 1800’s. Super friendly staff.
Gwen Harwood a volunteer archaeologist was so nice, she took us around the museum and explained a lot about the artifacts there and gave us recommendations to visit in the area. I definitely recommend this museum. We learned some new things.
What lovely volunteers.cute little museum with some very nice pieces of history of the area
What a gem! For a smaller town, this museum packs a variety of historic nuggets into the exhibits and the grounds. We attended the Gold Stamp Mine Experience, and visited the rest of the museum after our Gold mining tour. We were very impressed with the guide who shared everything from the process to the hard life miners endured. Watching the stamp mill rumble to life was a treat. The Gold Mine Experience is only offered on certain weekends and you will want to buy tickets ahead of time.
Very good information on pre-Columbian native people of Arizona.
The docent who showed us around the mining displays was excellent. There is a large (around 20 feet or so tall) rock crusher from the second half of the 19th century that has been restored and is operational. Really gives a good idea of industrial mining at the time.
