Cayton's Restaurant, Marana AZ

Service was good but the short rib melt was terrible.too much BBQ and overcooked. ShortRibs have a good taste to them when cooked correctly but they had no short rib taste and you could hardly taste the cheese that was suppose to be melted over the meat. I was looking forward to a good short rib melt. I expected it to taste like a patty melt but better because it was short rib meat unfortunately I was very disappointed.

The only reason this gets 2 stars is because our server was super sweet. The dinner menu is horrible, apparently they are trying to elevate the restaurant but have failed. The food we had was bad, just plain bad. Salads were average at best, the crab cakes were dense and mushy, not crispy at all. The winter squash fritters tasted like burnt cinnamon. But worst of all was the smoked yellow tomato and fennel broth that was on all of our plates. The smell was horrible the taste was even worse - tangy smoke at best. We told our server that none of us liked it and we thought that was unusual enough to mention, she appreciated the comment and after telling the kitchen said they were probably done tweaking the menu. At that point we didn’t tell her that most of our food was inedible- but it should have been obvious by what was left on our plates. Ritz Carlton, simple and good is way better than whatever weird thing we ate tonight.

Good food, but GREAT staff. While the soup and burger were good, the sweet potato fries were the best we’ve ever had. Nothing beats the sunset views though.

This past 4th of July my fiancée and I had the pleasure of dining at Cayton’s for what they touted as a Brews & Que (BBQ and Brews) Dinner Event. Not knowing what to expect we walked into a menu filled with up to 6-7 choices of meat, such as burnt ends, ribs, brisket, and more. Along with the great choice were the excellent sides. Was pleasantly surprised what a great price point they set. What we were most blown away by was the incredible BBQ they prepared, easily the best I have ever had! Along the amazing food, the service was perfect and of course THOSE views. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain or just staying/living in the area.

Location is great, Shortrib in was was to Smokey, Salmon was over cooked. Requested substitute for rice to have asparagus, they still charged additonal 8 dollar. Expected a better dinner for the money.

Horrible experience for our 18th wedding anniversary. They refused to move us as they out us under the ac vent and my wife was freezing we like it cold and I was even cold. Many open tables. The server also missed a number of item. The carrot cake was excellent though. We will not be returning

The Fourth of July dinner was inedible! It was definitely off a truck and not prepared in restaurant. Very disappointed. Will never go back there!

I am glad the menu changed. There are so many excellent non-burger options now that I want to come back often to try all of them.

Well for starters it is no longer a Burger Bistro. They have decided in the middle of the desert that Southern Cooking would be their flair. It is a total flop. My husband is from Mississippi and I am from Texas. We we know Fabulous Southern Cooking. The patio is a lovely atmosphere for sunset, but as soon as it turned dark, our table literally was crawling with little black gnats. It was so unappealing to try to finish our meal. They were all over us as well. Several tables got up and went inside to complete their meals. My appetite was gone! Dove Mountain is a beautiful setting but isolated. You would like for the food at the Ritz to be fabulous so you never have to leave. Ignite and Clayton’s are a bust for us.

We had lunch and dinner here during our stay and this is a beautiful and very tasty restaurant! Yes, the burgers served at lunch quite seriously are about the best burgers my wife and have ever had! Thick with juice running down your hand good! But the dinner was also mouth watering! My wife had the Yardbird chicken that had been expertly brined and was so yummy!
I had the shrimp and grits and it was like I was in the best place in New Orleans! So creamy and good! See the pictures for sure and try this place!

Setting is wonderful. Lunch menu good. Dinner menu is limited and overpriced. Can't get burger or tater tots at dinner anymore. We ordered a meal that was supposed to be celiac safe but the staff left an ingredient that could have been gluten. We used to be frequent guests but we won't be any longer. They should bring back other options for dinner menu.

We live locally and have been to Cayton's multiple times. At this visit the menu was changed and shrunken, and the limited selections were largely Southern cuisine (fried chicken, collards, yams, BBQ). Nice as an option, but this theme dominated a tiny menu. Prior sandwich/burger staples were gone, and this is curious given the full name on the earlier menu was "Cayton's Burger Bistro. " The few carryover items revealed significant price increases (Fish & Chips from $22 to $36). We were told that the menu changes periodically (understood), but these changes had us apologizing to our out-of-town guests. Service previously has been warm, helpful, and appreciative. Our server this visit was largely unengaged, was unable/unwilling to provide menu guidance, and our questions about salmon preparation were essentially dismissed. Previously a go-to place to take visitors, Cayton's has fallen off our list but we will keep an eye out for some type of management response to the torrent of bad reviews. Oh, but the ambiance remains wonderful.

The "greeter" Jazmine was horrible! Very rude and unable to make a decision about seating. The food was overpriced. Yard bird chicken was offered with a "carafe" of a sauce which did not come. We had to request silverware at the table in order to eat our meal. Honestly a big disappointment considering it is part of the Ritz. And we are members at the golf club and I am embarrassed at this level of service.

They went from Caytons Burger Bistro, to Caytons restaurant with worse food, and extremely expensive menu now. The tots and burgers were the best part of the place, now that’s left is the views and staff, but that’s not enough to bring me back. Extremely upset

We loved caytons the food was delicious. The staff are amazing. We have visited caytons many many times and always had an amazing meal and love the ambience of it. Sadly we visited last Saturday and we had no idea they had changed the menu. We sat and scanned the menu my partner is diabetic and there was nothing for
Him to eat we did ask if they could leave the sugar sauce off and was told no. We

Tiny. We left feeling starving and deflated. People around us were not happy either. I did book for my birthday but we have decided to cancel. Please caytons listen to
You’re customers this is a bad move and the reviews on all search engines say the same

Cayton's has a new dinner menu. There are no hamburgers on the menu, and prices for the remaining (mediocre) items are "very" high.

If you're going there for a hamburger for dinner you'll be disappointed.

What were they thinking?

We continue to LOVE Cayton’s! Jessica, our server was AMAZING! So friendly and efficient and knowledgeable. I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken with the best spicy sauce! Juicy and scrumptious! Hats off to the chef for creating this combination! My husband had the Black and Blue burger! Perfection! And of course-the atmosphere can’t be beat! Next time I have to save room for dessert!

Well, Cayton's managed to screw up the best thing about the restaurant. The famous burgers are now only available at LUNCH. That's right, the one thing they did well was taken off the dinner menu in favor of stuffing overpriced resort food down your throat. Also, a kids meal is now $21. Even as a resort guest, I'd rather Uber down the street for some real food. Two stars for the awesome patio with views and the staff.
