Had to get emissions test recently to renew registration. Car failed, not because of emissions, but their computer could not communicate with computer in my car. State has a program where they will pay up to $900 after you pay first $100 for any repairs to pass emissions test. Have to go to auto shop that is registered with their program.
After reading a lot of reviews for shops in my area, chose Chastain Auto. It's just the owner (Izzie) & 1 tech, so small shop. Got me in next business day. Could have tried to rip me & the state off by telling me needed to replace computer or something like that. Instead, was honest enough to tell me had another customer with same issue. Nothing was wrong with my car or the computer, was the testing facilities computer that was the problem. Cost was $0, no diagnostic fee, nothing. Even called me later to see if passed emissions test. Will use them in future. If you need an honest repair shop that won't rip you off, give Izzy a call at Chastain's! He's good people!

I needed my control arms and bushings replaced. While they were working on it they found a couple more issues that would be cheeper to fix at that time rather at a later date because they eventually would have needed to be replaced as well eventually. I was not going to have the money to take care of it all. The owner said he would work with me on the additional monies needed. I really appreciate there hard work, they genuinely care, I totally trust them with my truck. Thanks loads guys!

If you're looking for a mechanic you can trust, come here. I am a father of two children with special needs, my daughter with cerebral palsy, and 2 year old son with chronic heart disease. Our car is used mostly for transportation to and from Phoenix Children's Hospital. Regardless of the overwhelming expenses for medical bills, we ran into an issue with our car passing emissions, and the AC went out. This shop was on a list of reliable, approved venders, but in my opinion they should've been recommended period. Here you. Get honesty, compassion, and peace of mind. From here on out I won't be going anywhere else, and I suggest you look no further if your car needs servicing in any way.

Adding to my review since it's been 3 years and I'm still impressed with Chastain's. They continue to provide wonderful service. This past week they helped me with an emissions issue. I had a consistent error causing a check engine light. I brought it to the dealership a couple of times and after spending $700 for them to do some diagnostics and replace some parts, I still kept getting this issue and they didn't have any solutions.
I brought the car to Chastain's and they quickly found a significant crack in the air intake that the dealership wasn't able to track down. I am so relieved and again am thankful to do business with trustworthy competent and reliable mechanics. Thank you Dan and Izzy!
