Christ's Church of the Valley (CCV) - North Phoenix reviews
20I have attended a few services online and they were good. I got baptized here though and so far it has been the best decision I ever made. The pastors checked in on me, and keep me updated on future events. It's a great community!
My son and I attended once and were inspired by the pastor's sermon and the head guy who speaks via video to all the locations. Super positive welcoming group. But the loud, loud rock music at the beginning is unbearable, and we love rock music.
Eleven years ago, I went to this church regularly. I moved states and haven't been back. I was able to spend the last two Sundays at CCV as I visited on vacation. I was extremely happy to see how the church has grown. It still had the same amazing vibe!
My daughters attend; my wife and I are slowly getting back to the post-covid attendance. Haven't given this church the full opportunity to assess yet (biblical teaching as opposed to prosperity gospel) but so far seems fine. Only issue I see right now is the terribly loud worship service. Music is fine, just needs to be toned down a bit as it hurts the ears. I think the biggest contributor to that is the drums. There is no drum sound enclosure and it overwhelms everything. Actually makes me want to leave unfortunately. Really not necessary. My daughters also complained about that.
This was, a very positive experience as folks are very welcoming. The Christmas Eve Pastor's message was excellent and my teenage grandson is so happy there in his Youth Group
For me, I will never understand why music has to have such high amplification. I have hearing loss and do not want more so will not attend regularly. I am sure everyone has to receive some damage and do not understand bringing babies and young children into that atmosphere.
They really don't like you using their parking lot to park and hike. Maybe a donation to 'God' would change their minds.
This church is not biblically sound. During a 40 minute sermon the pastor barley touched his Bible, and began to give his opinion without backing it with scripture. The pastors sermon felt like a Ted talk on how the pastor personally views life, and less about teaching the bible. If you're looking to be filled with the holy spirit, and want to grow in your faith CCV is not the place.
I visited once to see what they were about in hopes of finding a new place of worship. I was looked down upon by their senior pastor for having previously attended a congregation he held judgments towards. When I asked some questions about the sermon, he sharply curbed my question and made me feel very unwelcome by telling me this was not a place to debate the gospel. I humbly apologized and reassured him I had not meant to express anything of the nature but didn’t feel it was fair to judge people for not understanding something. After all we are all students of life. I felt stigmatized sadly. I truly was investing my time to try and find a place where I could bring my four children and my wife. I may not know everything and perhaps I do have questions about things which others might minimize or suggest has no impact on our eternal wellbeing. Yet I have been treated that way before and as Christ Himself pointed out “by their fruits ye shall know them”.
Here is what I do know: when I encounter someone who is truly being led and guided by the spirit of God, they don’t project judgments onto me in these ways. They are easily entreated and compassionate. They take the time to understand what someone is saying or asking instead of responding with a spirit of enmity and high mindedness. We are all children of God. We all have need to repent and can all do better, constantly, no matter what we are striving to do or be. Yet without the spirit of Love and brotherhood or sisterhood among us, the ability for Christs spirit to bare witness becomes choked out thru the choices we as people make. Where two or more are gathered “in my name” there will I be. And where HIS spirit is, love and edification occur. Where enmity and judgment occur, love is hindered as well as the blessings that otherwise might have occurred.
For those who enjoy this church- I am happy for them. However I have been bullied and minimized by religious organizations before.
Add all of this to the fact that they perform sacrament like a strange unholy ritual of little effect, compared to the teachings found in the scriptures themselves and I person of understanding is left scratching their head as why they have turned sabbath day worship into a McDonald’s corporate experience.
I prefer those who genuinely care about doing things in the ways that produce the blessings spoken of in the scriptures. Why carry on in the manner of Godliness without the power of Godliness actually being manifest?
Those who truly Love Christ: they will strive to keep his commandments. Doing so is an expression of our love for Him. So why would an organization professing the name of Christ choose to deviate from His commands? !? Doesn’t add up folks.
Yet if attending a place like this gives you some sense of self worth and you believe you won’t be one of those hearing “Depart from me ye workers of iniquity”, well then I feel sad that ya don’t actually know what’s taught by Christ and that you are led astray by those who care more about how they are seen than they care about what they do.
I forgive them. I do not desire to be unkind. Yet life plays for keeps. Misinformation is no joke. These are peoples lives after all.
Truth can be proven.
Use to attend Verrado location in Buckeye but moved to Phoenix and now attend this one.
My daughter and I love the teachings each Sunday at service. There are times when i truly feel it is speaking directly at me. Very moving and at times emotional but we so connect and it's a great feeling! Thank you!
Went for a Celebration of Life for a friend. This is a very nice place. Big restrooms that are clean. A coffee shop inside is awesome.
I had my son attend a special needs camp recently, and it was amazing to see my son happy. CCV is outstanding. We feel that our faith is strengthening.
This church has helped my family and I grow in our faith with Jesus. My kids love attending their HS service every Sunday. One of my boys plays for the HS service worship band. He has been giving that opportunity! The pastors preach the gospel of Jesus and it’s easy to understand!
I have grandchildren that attend sporting events here, baseball, basketball. Football and soccer, a very well organized venue.
I went to a service for my friends baptism and I had a great time. I haven't been to church in awhile and this place made me feel more connected to God and reminded me that he is with me everyday.
Opened service with a live band that was great! And when service was over with I was upset said "what that's it? " I wanted more! Can't wait to go back!
They really did allot to the campus when they purchased it from the previous church that was there it looks beautiful and all the staff was really nice when we stopped by to check it out
CCV is absolutely amazing! My family and myself have been going here for years. First at the Scottsdale campus, then North Phoenix campus upon opening. Highly recommend everyone check it out. God is so good! CCV isn't just a church, it's a family
Beautiful place. Had my Brother's Celebration of Life. They helped us to have a beautiful service. They welcomed our Biker family without an issue. God lives therebeautiful people!
I think this church focuses way to much on how proud they are about it being okay to carry fire arms I'm their church. And, their support group for addicts? Is ridiculous when they shut that program down for 2 weeks due to the holidays. When these individuals need help, every day minute to minute sometimes.
I've been going to CCV for over 2 years now and wow, Such a wonderful place to worship! I've never felt more comfortable in a church like I have at CCV!
