City of Mesa Customer Service reviews
19The user portal for looking up and paying for city permits and fees is one of the worst I have ever used. It is incredibly frustrating and does not offer any of the standard account features that ALL other utilities and vendors offer. You might think that a government organization that wants to charge you fees all year long would let you set up recurring/auto pay.but no, that is far too easy. Growing a small business is tough stuff and it creates benefit for the city but instead of supporting those businesses they make it as difficult as possible. You get a $17 dollar Fire Safety bill, then $20 for Alarm/PD permit, then $153 for an inspection. They come at different times so you have to keep signing in, searching, and setting up this single payment. Trash the DIMES system and start over. Support the businesses that pay for your infrastructure and stop making this such a painful process to give you money!
Full credit check to waive deposit + a fee to run credit. $50 startup fee. Rep failed to setup autopay after I gave my account info. Never got a bill emailed or in the mail until I was past due. The gas charges are ridiculous. "Other fees" + Service fee + usage + some magma fee. $25ish in gas used ends up costing $90ish on my bill not counting the original startup fee. Pretty ridiculous and by far the most expensive gas I've ever paid for.
Called one day after the new year Eve holiday. He told me can’t reconnect until the next day the soonest. And charge $27 dollar for the opening fee and additional $200 deposit that won’t give back until 2 years later. No explain action on when the technician will show up, he just told me tomorrow and I had to ask him what time is their service hours in order to find out that they might show up anytime from 7am to 4: 30pm. I’m not happy with the service.
Terrible. City manager can’t even be bothered to put a real email address on the Mesa city website. It’s bogus… and if you should get lucky enough to talk to some one, they will act as though they didn’t know.
But months later, the wrong info will still be there!
Customer service is knowledgeable and respectful. They repair the water meter box quickly and efficiently.
MJ was great in assisting me with creating an account with the City of Mesa utilities. She was knowledgeable & informative as well as empathetic to the stress of moving. I was thankful to get her on the phone with her great customer service skills. Thank you MJ!
I've been on the phone with City of Mesa Utilities department for several days trying to resolve an issue. It's as if each person that works there works in secrecy from their co-workers. Every time I call I get a different answer to the same questions. Does everyone get the same training? We had a balance of $413.38. $523.04 was paid to them yet I still, somehow, have a $90+ balance. After an HOUR and 10 minute phone call, most of which was spent on hold, I gave up. Fine send me a bill I just want to take a shower. I've been without water for 8 days. I wish there was an alternative to using their services.
Called to turn on service at our new house today. Went very smooth. Great customer service
My husband went there today, spoke with Alicia about getting utilities transferred. She was super helpful, professional and eased a stressful situation. Thank you Alicia!
If I could give zero stars I would! Called today Thursday to get my gas turned on as I am moving in this weekend to my new place. I was informed that my gas could not be turned on until next week Monday at some point in the day, they can't give me a time and someone has to be home.i informed them that with out the gas there is no central heat or hot water and I have 4 children one who is special needs.it drops to 30 degrees we have no space heaters or the money to buy one as this move has exhausted all my funds! I was told so rudely that there was nothing they could do and that they need 24 hour notice for same day starts.well today is Thursday and tomorrow is Friday.thats about 24hours to me! But nope they do not care that children will be cold, dirty and uncomfortable for a very long 4 days and 3 nights! Abusive!
City of Mesa it seems to not care about water quality or customer experience. They told me I could only pay cash because their online website rejected ACH payments but then they stopped sending return envelopes in my statements.
I've been a City of Mesa customer for over 13 years. I have never asked for an extension on my water bill before. I got a disconnect notice on Saturday, it is now Monday with a disconnect on Tuesday. When I called the guy was only concerned about protocol. The City of Mesa Water Department clearly does not care about their customers. Other departments within the city have been very helpful
My husband and I just bought a house in Mesa. Making a major move from NC. I’ve had to call a few times and I’ve always received great service. Each person I’ve talked to has been courteous and very helpful.
Terrible customer service. Terrible phone service in general. Slow to get things done. Offer no real information on the website. Website constantly crashes and denies you access. Go to tempe
Good thing I finally got someone that knew what they were talking about. I had to call Arizona Water and they said Mesa after I had just finished talking to them.
All other utility services were able to waive the deposit WITHOUT running a credit check whether I had service with them or not. City of Mesa requires you to run a full check on your credit AND they charge you to do it! The representative was very nice, but overall an annoying situation.
I had trouble logging into their new system this morning. I noticed the horrible reviews while I was waiting for assistance. I spoke with Erica. She was extremely helpful and very polite. She walked me through the process and stayed on the phone with me until I was logged in. Not sure why she would ever get a bad review. She could not of been any nicer to me. Maybe the reviewers were just having a bad day because the service I received was A+!
They’re extremely rude and unhelpful, for the most part. I have no other company to choose from.
Minor issue that could have been handled quickly over the phone required a 25 mile trip and a waste of an hour and half of my time.
