Best experience. They helped me with a very difficult situation. They were all kind, patient and understanding. Thank you CHA.

Stop here first if looking to adopt! It's a good idea to shop around for the best fit, and the facility at this shelter isn't as fancy as others in the area, but I found them to be considerably more friendly, open, and willing to help (no matter how hectic the office got).
Bonnie is an awesome addition to our pack. So glad I stopped by Coconino Humane.

Seemed well staffed and animals were well taken care of. Out of town a bit so plenty of walking areas.

Staff members are awesome.
Very pleasant experience for an otherwise emotional day for me.

I visited the shelter to pay for and pick up a neuter voucher for my new service dog in training. CHA has the cheapest low cost spay/neuter voucher programs in Flagstaff! The staff is so friendly but young. As I used to be a vet tech, I noticed a young staff member struggling to give a kitten his intake vaccines. I gave advice on how to safely, for the kitten and herself, give the vaccine. The staff member followed my advice and the vaccine was safely and successfully administered. Bonus!

Really love these two puppies. I was clear about not wanting a.bully mix… Even though they are, it all worked out.

I visited recently and you can tell they genuinely do care for the animals. Wonderful place to go if you’re considering adopting, they have dogs, cats, a bunny, Guinea pigs, etc! Please donate to them and consider adopting from them. Everyone was so friendly!

I have had two animals, one that I was fostering to keep him out of the shelter and another which was a dog we found tied to a post out by Grand Falls. Both animals were refused months apart. What good is an animal shelter if you refuse to take animals that will be on the street? Sam promised to call me within two days to take the cat I was fostering and I never heard from her again. Luckily I was eventually able to find him a home so the poor guy is safe, no thanks to the humane society. Can you believe they tied the dog to a post and abandoned him. His story was a happy ending and the only reason they got three stars was because they called the micro chip company and found the owner, although we didn't get ahold of them and I had to do the rest of getting him to a safe location.

My daughter and I bring in a bearded dragon and they left him without a great lamp or the proper food and when I went in to tell them he's trying because of having no great and how dark he is they hung up on me twice. They even lied to me. Not knowing I was the owner of him they tried telling me he was JUST bright in when I'm fact I bright him in 4 days ago. Even the supervisor going up on me and refused to listen. Please do not wait from them they have no clue what they are doing and they lie

I called to ask Jackie some information about my cat biting me. I knew she would have the most accurate information on how to change animals Behavior to make them safe and positive pets. I have adopted from Coconino humane for many years and her suggestions to me were most helpful. Jackie really knows her stuff!

We are from Phoenix and let me tell you the difference. These animals have not been exposed to bad people because they all have wonderful temperaments. In Phoenix, the dogs are terrible because they’re exposed to terrible people and it’s just hard to train out.

From the 4 dogs I’ve seen, they’re all ready to go home and mingle within your fam.

Side note: dogs bark. If that bothers you, you probably shouldn’t own a dog.

This is a wonderful facility. The staff is knowable and really cares for the animals. They do everything they can to help animals and to help you find your fur baby. They are also a great resource for the comunity.

I visit a lot of Humane Societies. This one had good facilities. I thought the dog kennels were small compared to others. Staff was friendly and looked like the animals were well cared for.

Everybody was very pleasant to work with, and the facilities were quite accommodating. They even had treats, toys and leashes available for donation! Only issue isn't really there fault, but it's very muddy up there, bring good boots.

After being there with my daughter who volunteers here on the weekends, this is a top notch, no kill shelter. All the staff that we've met are the most caring and kind gentlefolks whose number one concern are the animals they have in the shelter and finding them a loving home.

A few years ago, I decided to volunteer for this place that was so horrible to visit. It costed less than $20 to get "trained" as a volunteer, and that comes with a nice new shirt and a name badge. To volunteer, you simply show up and punch in a code to tell a computer you were there, and it will calculate the hours you were there till you clock out.
Make no mistake, this is not a petting zoo. Only certain animals get kept to be adopted out. It's a shelter, not a home! Whether an animal gets kept depends on its variety and coat condition. I was only there twice to wash the beddings and the dishes, which is just a small part to keep the place going. I saw a baby horse in the laundry room, where it was horribly noisy and uncomfortable. The horse was kept in a metal enclosure with some hay on the floor and some water. The poor horse had gunk in its eyes like it had been crying, and it would not let me touch it to wipe it away. The note on the pen said the whole herd had died, and this pony was the only animal left. I felt so bad, I dcided not to return, for I have no way to rescue the horse.
I shared a ride down the hill to the nearest bus stop with a big girl of a hairdresser. It's a long, washer board road down to the main road to the bus stop. On the way down, it occurred to me to say something about global warming to the girl sharing the taxi, and she quickly said, No, there is no global warming!
It was just too expensive to go there to volunteer for free. Though I kept the volunteer shirt, I don't go back there any more.

Very caring staff, knew all about the dogs they had for adoption and helped me quickly find the dog that might be right for my situation. They were really great and help a lot of animals. This is not an easy job. Everything was clean and dogs well taken care of.
