Great 4 mile loop with scenic views. We went today after it stopped raining. You would expect to find muddy trails and that’s the way it was. Would recommend going back!

Definitely mine and my pups favorite trail! Lots of cows and sometimes has a waterfall and running water.

The copper canyon loop is my favorite trail in the Camp Verde area. The trailhead is well maintained and easy to get to.

Great trail that leads to a fun waterfall. That’s right a beautiful waterfall in AZ! The roaming livestock provide entertainment and some adventure. Stay clear of them and they’ll stay clear of you.
Horse stables at the trailhead and at about the halfway point of the trail if you need.
Plenty of parking. The road to the trailhead passes a little shooting range too. Driver beard the road to get back there is very bumpy but accessible by any vehicle.

A mile long gravel road to the parking lot. There are bathroom, picnic tables and information post. Plenty of parking spaces available. Very well maintained hiking trail. Switch back style trail to the top. Then, almost flat hiking for several miles with nice view. You don’t see rocky mountain like Sedona but you can enjoy quiet hike. Highly recommended for senior hikers. The total loop mile for trail #504 is about 5 miles with 2 hours of hiking.

Very nice hike. Easy walking. Horses went by while I was out there. Good for trail runners and bicycles too. No water right now.

Three out of shape, middle age hikers had no problem with this trail. Fair warning: there's very little shade, though.

I took my lunch out to the trailhead and enjoyed the views and serenity of the area while I ate. Very relaxing.

My dad and I like to go hiking on this beautiful trail here. We walk 'til we're famished then go home to eat. Beautiful views and exciting adventures. You don't want to miss this spot!

Too many folks using area as a target range 6 months ago, but recently I had a completely different experience and enjoyed my hike with my puppy

Went kayaking and fishing. Seen a huge striped bass in the shallows. Biggest fresh water fish I've ever seen. To smart for my bate.

Easy to find and get to. I would rate it as an "easy" hike. After the initial climb, it's relatively flat.
In the parking area there's more than one trail you can take and they are not well marked. One has a ramp for bikes, it's the one to the left of that.
If you take dogs be aware that it's open range and there will be cattle.in our case, right in the middle of the trail. They're not aggressive but some dogs don't react well.
There was one creek crossing (about 4 feet across) and it's very shallow (couple inches) this may be gone or dried up in summer time.
Not a lot of scenery or challenges, it's just a hike. Would also be a decent mountain bike trail for beginners.
