CrossFit Prescott / Drive Rx Prescribed Fitness reviews
12Best fitness/crossfit in town. Joey really cares about his people. Come in and see the difference between a 15 min WOD and the Prescribed RX way. You'll walk away knowing you've been wasting money on other gyms with trainers that have little experience, and only look at their people as "money". Prescribed RX is the standard of how gyms should operate!
New to CrossFit and am just blown away by how educated and helpful Joey is regarding technique and body mechanics!
Drive RX/CrossFit Prescott is hands down the best in all of Yavapai County. It has been a true game changer for me as I have struggled to stay consistent in my work-out/health journey. The coaches are very knowledgeable and truly care about seeing you succeed. They are amazing at what they do and make you feel comfortable every step of the way. What also makes this place truly special is the other members. Everyone is so supportive and committed to helping one another. A great community pushing as a team for better fitness!
I've been a personal trainer for 25 years and I learned so much from Joey Powell in my first session with him. Joey works with each individual on there own level, from broken individuals to advanced athletes.
Thanks Joey,
Mark Bryans, 9th degree black belt in the American Combato System
Undoubtedly the best gym in Prescott, if not all of AZ. Learned more from Joey than I did in college. Proud to call him a mentor and this establishment my home.
Excellent gym! Great setup with a broad diversity of equipment. Very accommodating and knowledgeable. Joey has a great disposition and was fun to take instruction from. The gym members were kind and a pleasure to suffer with. Next time I’m in town I will definitely return.
Absolutely an ideal place to be particularly involved in. From the coaches, to the entirety of their Workout-Of-The-Day's, CrossFit Prescott, Arizona, has dialed in, and hot shot their way through the bull's-eye, of my present needs. Fitness and life-long wellness, is the key to the one hundreds, in my eyes. From one hundred years of life experience, to one hundred million dollars, the importance of, "Keeping it, " is the only goal, and a goal very well attained by these masters of technical training, , and life-long balance. May God bless you all, and your 's, forevermore. Humbly, I am available to meet you, at every level, "YA'LL, " keep throwing my way. Just, "Keep it ONE HUNDRED; Keep it REAL. " Stay true. Mahalo. BAM!
This is my go to gym. They care about form, your health, and theirs no pressure, no mirrors & everyone dresses appropriate.
This place rocks.
I was lifting on my own for about two years before I got in contact with Joey. My own programming (SS, SL, 5X5, etc) was showing diminishing returns and I was getting frustrated with the plateaus. As an amputee, I was afraid that going to a conventional CF box was going to too much: How many exercises would I have to rush through to change out adaptive gear? Would the class size be small enough for me to figure out an alternative movement? Am I going to interrupt the flow of the rx?
After a few days of on-boarding with Joey and Andrea, I put all those fears to rest: The class sizes are small, the programming is consistent and focused on results and longevity, not ego and bragging rights. I can change out my adaptive gear and keep pace with the other participants. There's enough equipment to keep everyone moving, and if I need to find an alternative movement, I'm not interrupting anyone else.
I've been coming here relatively consistently for about five months now, and I've pushed through every plateau that I was struggling with. No injuries to speak of. I feel stronger and healthier than I ever did training on my own.
Now, if you're just passing through town, this probably isn't the right gym for you. It's not an open box. It's not a place to catch a quick workout on your way to points unknown. It's a place to spend 6-12 weeks working with programming that is proven to make you stronger and more athletic.
Crossfit Prescott is hands down the best gym I have ever had the pleasure of being a member of. I have been training here for the past three plus years under Coach Joey Powell, and completed a handful of workout programs in that time. The most significant of which being “Dark Times. ” In my preparation for military training Joey recommended this program to develop the foundational structure for a strong and durable frame. Dark Times was an absolute monster of a training program, tailored specifically for those looking to push their bodies to the next level.
All of Crossfit Prescott’s programs are skillfully crafted and coached by trainers that are motivated to be there, with a focus on longevity and functional fitness. I credit my success to the coaching and mentoring I have received from Joey Powell and the high caliber athletes that Crossfit Prescott attracts. Crossfit Prescott is dedicated to their members and their goals. I highly recommend that anyone looking for a training facility that is a cut above and founded on honest principles come in see what it’s all about.
Joey and team were extremely knowledgeable beyond just weight training. They’re the kind of team that’s willing to go the extra mile if your willing to put in the work.
Since moving from Prescott I have yet to find a gym that drives me to push myself in all the right ways. I’m extremely grateful for the physical and mental gains I achieved at CrossFit Prescott (just note, this isn’t a “Crossfit” gym).
One other note. I’ve suffered from chronic lower back pain and after a couple months in the program my back was stronger and the pain I used to experience during long road trips subsided.
This is hands down the best gym I have ever been to. The community is fun and supportive and the programming is geared toward strength, conditioning, and longevity. The coaches are incredibly good at what they do. They got me into the best shape of my life and helped me completely rehab my left shoulder, which had been causing me grief for over a decade. I can’t thank them enough. I left Prescott earlier this year, and this facility is the place I miss most. If you’re thinking about going, go. If you’re not thinking about going, start thinking about going, and then go. You won’t regret it. Happy training:)
