DO NOT GO HERE! DANGER WILL ROBINSON DANGER!
BEWARE THE CHAIR!
BEWARE
THEY TREAT YOU LIKE A CRIMINAL
NO HELP WHATSOEVER
CICADA UNIT
Very little group sessions, although my discharge papers state I received feelings and emotions, self regulation, and coping skills, communication, understanding anxiety, triggers, etc. I RECEIVED ZERO OF THOSE THINGS! NONE OF THAT HAPPENED! They lie about everything! I left worse than when I came in! Not to mention I left with high blood pressure which I never had before in my life and I'm 42. They cut me off my medication cold turkey which is extremely dangerous and could lead to death. DO NOT GO HERE! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! They are incredibly disorganized and if you try to ask for a supervisor she, being Kelly, will just patronize you and ask well what can I do for you? ! And with attitude my discharge papers say I'm a male. They also say that I left with twice the amount of pills than they actually gave me. All they care about is getting their money, your child will end up worse, if you are an adult, you will end up worse, do not go here please!

Spoke with Kim T today who is very rude and unprofessional. She made smart remarks during a call today. This company calls should be recorded for quality assurance purposes for instances like today. A place like this shouldn’t have this many bad reviews. Very concerning

Sonya was phenomenal. She’s the tech that really loves and cares about what she does. It makes all the difference. Thank you for looking out for us. We need more like her. Give her a promotion!

I have been here twice, once for fear of what I may do to myself, and second for what I did to myself. They treated me with the upmost dignity and respect both times. The work they do here is amazing and I highly recommend them to anyone who is losing they're battle.

Honestly, I felt like i should leave a review to warn parents before sending their kids here.

When I stayed at destiny springs, overall their treatment was designed a great way to keep kids busy and definetly helped me therapiucally, however the staff sometimes yelled in my face to wake up and would bang on my bed with force which kinda hurt which was annoying. In addition to that, the hygiene was bad throughout the day because they didn't have soap that you could wash your hands with.they had soap in your hygiene cabinet, however that could only be opened at day and night. Also very gross place in general, the no washing hands is probably the reason i got sick from being there, along with some other patients i talked too that had fallen sick.

When i was staying there, a patient had also had a severe allergic reaction and the nurses were incompetent for the first few minutes and didnt do anything, the girl was dying. They checked her vitals and said she was fine, however her heart was racing up to 130 bpm and high blood pressure. It took about 15 minutes of the patient screaming her lungs out until they would help her and get her epipen. She was scared for her life.

Another incident was when a girl was having a seizure on the floor, they didn't do anything to help her and just waited for her to stop seizing on her own and watched her like they were clueless.

Some other times were when I and some other patients had frequent panic attacks and I specifically asked to go in my room away from all the noise (dont recommend staying if you dont like noise, usually very loud during the day), and i was crying my eyes out and shaking on the floor. I asked to go to my room to calm down, and no matter what they didnt let me and similar situations have happend with other patients also with anger outbursts-incompetent staff. Even kids were ganging up against eachother to jump people for some drama they were involved with a girl who already left.

Regarding fighting, drama can be frequent and usually not handled the best. Sometimes even the staff got hurt and hit around. There were many situations with kids that didnt get along when i was staying and the same kids had many physical fights, however were never seperated into different units. A big situation happend regarding fights where two patients had constant drama and fights, and no matter what, would keep them in the same unit and put other patients in danger by not caring when chairs were thrown around etc. One situation was when a girl tried to hang herself and all the staff did was sedate her, even after her outburst after.

Overall not a good place to stay if youre looking for drama free, and a clean enviorment. Feeds you well and provides exercises and activities and care, however food sometimes doesnt have the most veggies or fruit and not the best tasting.

This facility is brand new. Negative comments and complaints are common with these types of medical facilities, unfortunately. I was only there for a short time, but the receptionist that greeted me was excellent! Positivity starts at the front door and management seems to know this. They seem to care here.

This mental hospital was overall pretty alright. My stay was my first time staying in a place like this and it didn't seem all that bad. I do have a few complaints though. My first one is that some of the BHTs there seemed very under qualified and uncaring about the mental health of the patients, and on many occasions making fun of them. This was not too common though with only some of the BHTs doing things like this. Another complaint is that about 4 days into my stay, I was told I was going to be moved to a different unit. For context, I spent my first four days on the Phoenix unit, which I liked and had many kids that overall made the place funny and entertaining. They wanted to move me to the Monarch unit due to "issues with another patient. " Of course I displayed my distaste for this idea. Yet they decided to put me over there anyways. Once I was in the new unit I continued to display my distaste, yet nothing was really done about this. I think that if a patient displays dislike of being switched to a different unit, they should be moved back, but sadly that isn't what happened. But other than that, my stay helped quite a bit and I do feel better now.

Hello my name is Rachel, I just got out of the facility today, and these reviews are completely different than my experience. I was on the monarch unit, and the main staff up there were absolutely fantastic. First off the BHT’s were the best Ms. Kiara took the extra mile she always made sure we were 100% okay, always gave us her undivided attention, connected with us, and had more patience than I’ve seen anyone have in a long time. Also Ms. Nijemma (I think that’s how her name is spelt) was also so amazing she really connected with us, and made our experience feel happy and like we were not stuck in a facility, tried her hardest in every area, just overall made my stay amazing. And lastly Ms. Jazz, she was there almost everyday and really stood out as someone who cared about her job and made the whole unit more bright everytime she was there. Next the nurses most notable Mrs. Dawn, this is what she was made for helping children, and it shows she went the extra mile as well, keeping us on our toes with work, giving us fun activities through the day, telling the best stories, and overall being one of the best humans to walk the planet, I’ll never forget the care she put towards all of us. The people who came in for group were also amazing most notable Edward, he taught me so many amazing things and how to control myself better, gave the best advice, and made me overall a better person.

This is just my experience, and I don’t plan to go back, but if it was a need I would go here because I received the best care in the world.

Mixed emotions about this place. Feel like they only had my step son in for a week and basically said he was ready to come home although we had a lot of concerns about him leaving the facility and how his mood changes once he’s in our care. His case manager was commutative but I don’t think he was necessarily listening to our concerns.

So I guess we’ll see what happens tonight once he leaves the facility

My adult son spent 12 days here and it was the best thing that has happened to him in a long time. Every time I spoke to whoever answered the phone in his unit, they took the time to answer my questions and made me feel like I was no bother at all. One phone call the nurse spoke to me for 20 minutes. Ashley and Kim were wonderful to talk with and showed such compassion. My son felt comfortable and left ready ti take the next step in his treatment.

I wish I could give negative stars. This place is a joke. Like a glorified, over priced, baby sitter.
My son went inpatient here and it was pointless. As soon as we got in the door, he was taken from me and I was locked in a room. I’m not sure how long I sat there by myself waiting to hear from anyone. I was finally greeted by two ladies. One talked to me about her son and how he had behavior issues and she did this and that for him. He was bad in school, blah blah blah. She told me it finally took him getting locked up for him to get it together and get his GED. I’m sorry, what? !? !? I’m already going through a rough time making the decision to admit my son into inpatient care and you’re telling me horrific stories about how your son was “the same”. It was completely unprofessional.
I told them that he has an electronic addiction and the first thing they do is put him in a room and let him play fortnite.
I was told he would get evaluated by a psychiatrist, he would have daily check ins with them, have counseling one on one and group, have a case manager be in contact with me after meeting with him daily…these things didn’t happen. I had to call multiple times to get updates and when I did, their stories didn’t align with my sons. He didn’t have the opportunity to speak with the case manager. She lied right to my face and then got caught. She claimed to not have known he wanted to speak with her.
They gave him his meds too late in the morning and very late in the evening.
He said the food was terrible and he hardly ate because it was gross.
Im not sure how this place is still operating. It’s a joke. I can’t even compare it to respite care because I didn’t get any relief and neither did he. I was constantly worried he wasn’t getting treated right and he was worried he wasn’t going to get his meds or if he was going to be hungry because the food sucked.

CHOOSE ANY PLACE BUT HERE!

My 11 y/o grandson was in this facility for 9 days as a transfer from the hospital. His own doctor and/or therapist were never contacted as his mother requested. There was only generic "therapy" for the group. He never received one-on-one therapy and very little provider contact for them to determine if keeping him on the same meds or changing meds was in his best interests. We are not even certain if the "provider" was a a doctor, nurse practitioner, or something else. We are not even certain that he needed an inpatient stay, they did nothing. Possible insurance scam? Who knows, but this child did not need to be held for 9 days for them to do absolutely NOTHING!

Right in front of my grandson, Sydney his caseworker, stated that she met with him on a daily basis. He then told us/her that was not true, that he had been asking to see her for two days. She then admitted that she had been busy and not been able to see him and apologized to him. She stood right there and lied in our faces, IN HIS FACE, and had he not spoken up, we would have thought that she had been meeting with him. She set up a safety meeting via Zoom for the following day with his mother and never called. She was unavailable for the next three days when my daughter called to find out why she didnt get the call.

He had a cut on his leg that had butterfly bandages on it and when my daughter asked the nurse how it was doing, she had no idea that he had the cut. It was in the notes from the hospital and there should have been a full body inspection when he arrived. But the nurse had no knowledge of the cut on his leg!

The front desk staff was rude on the phone when calling to set up visiting times. Over and over again, they couldn't answer the phone politely or answer simple questions at the front desk with any decency. They would literally roll their eyes at you.

The only person that seemed like he was paying attention and cared about the well-being of my grandson was Mike, possibly a BHT, who was in charge of watching over visiting time. He let me know that my grandson was a "good kid with a big heart" (very true) but that he had been isolating himself (completely out of the ordinary). When I brought this up with Sydney his case manager, she stated that she hadn't noticed. This is the point where I discussed their lack of communication. Had ANYONE there communicated properly with his mother they would have known that he is a social butterfly and that isolation could be a sign of depession or worse! But I suppose if they hadnt noticed that he was isolating, then that was a moot point anyway!

The overall staff seemed incompetent, unprofessional, untrustworthy, unethical, and lacked severely in communication skills and actual mental health treatment skills.

The good news is, he made it out ALIVE! The sad news is, every time we drive by there, he says how much he hates that place!

I was in destiny springs for two weeks and it truly helped I was on the adolescents unit (phoenix) and I met some of the best people ever most of the BHTs were amazing but the only complaint I have is some of the nurses were pretty under qualified but this is one of the best mental facilities around in my opinion

A man threw sprite on me and was not punished, the employees only do their job on your first day. I had to hunt them down for help. Sharon hier does not know her job description. Couldn’t tell if she was a psychologist or psychiatrist. I love nurse Ashley, Karen and BhT Angela and josh.jerry needs to work as a JROTC sergeant at a high school, I think he’s compensating for something.

If you have a job going in don't expect help with short term disability. The social workers don't care. I asked multiple times for help with my short term disability claim and was ignored. I had to goto Mind 24/7 who sent me here for that. I can't get in touch with the doctor who saw me or the NPs for a note for financial assistance. They clearly don't care if their patients end up homeless.

It helped a lot
You get your cell 3 hours a day and 4 cigarette breaks. Plan though on 7-10 days. The doc there is firm on that
