Dick's Hideaway reviews
15If you want really delicious food and big servings that doesnt hurt your wallet, then visit this place. Had a really great experience here and will definitely come back. I really love the atmosphere here too. Very cozy
Favorite restaurant in Phoenix. Best New Mexican food outside Santa Fe (sorry Albuquerque).
What a nice, cozy atmosphere. Food was delicious and our waiter was very attentive. We would definitely go back when in the area.
First thing the entrance is hard to find there is no sign. So look for the wood parking in rear sign and go in the door below it. All the waiting staff was funny and energetic and amazing. This place has limited seating and is on the small side. Most of the food is cook over a wood grill so there is wood smoke in the air. They do a good job at venting it. But you will still smell like camp fire when you leave. I had the NY steak they were out of lobster so I Substituted bacon wrapped shrimp. The steak was perfect and had a cream sauce that was excellent. The shrimp was a little over cook. The side salad was good they only have ranch and mix it for you. My wife had the meat loaf and acorn squash and Brussels sprouts this dish is the reason we will be coming back. They put a little char on the vegetable. They do have a full bar and can make almost anything. Just nothing blended. The drink are not weak and reasonably priced. Over all we had a great experience and will be coming back.
The friend I was visiting brought me here, and the walk in is a bit intimidating, but it's worth it for the food and experience. Come for an exciting and delightful meal, not a quiet conversation.
The food was really good. The green sauce has a little heat to it. My only issue was the poached egg was soft boiled on the eggs benedict. Really enjoyed the ambiance of the place and will definitely be back.
Nice place. Decent food. It was a small place, not a lot of room if you have a large party of friends. But the service makes up for it. Service was excellent.
Food was great but felt crazy overpriced. We went for brunch, Eg, $18 for a couple of pancakes. It’s essentially a dark lit bar, wouldn’t say the atmosphere or service was anything to justify the trip. One and done.
Great place to grab breakfast or lunch, dim lighting no windows in the back, booth seating is nice in the back it’s an L-shape, just a great place to hang out with friends.
An amazing menus, love it here and at Richardson’s other location; but the close quarters and open kitchen make this location my favorite.
The atmosphere is great. Kinda dark and intimate. The food was hot, flavorful and huge. Our waiter was amazing. He took a moment to speak to us and answer all our questions about food and the PHX area. I had the Chimayo chicken and my mom had the chicken enchiladas. Both were great.
Carne Adovada and eggs! Wow, excellent food, even the ketchup is from scratch! Little hole in the wall, but amazing. Loved the music too!
100 percent compliments to the chef, If you are in town and want to indulge in some seriously good food this is the place. This is the definition of flavor town. We had friends from out of state come out and every dish we tried was outstanding. The steak sauce was absolutely amazing. The green chili burger was outstanding. The service was great! We were checked on frequently, the little hideaway is not a joke. Its hard to find if your not looking. I will recommend this to a multitude of people hands down
Service was terrible. We waited about 20 mins to be served after receiving our order a lady told us that that section we were sitting in was rented and we had 15 min to finish! She didn’t offer to move us to another part of the bar she basically kicked us out. So we paid and before receiving our cards back she came back and said “you need to leave we have a contract and you cannot be in here! We tried to explain that we were waiting for our debit cards. She wouldn’t let us explain and made us get up and wait by the door! No one told us that it was rented and the fact that they didn’t offer to move us was crazy. I am more upset by how she treated us! We spend almost $200 there! She has zero customer service or professionalism. They also lack organization skills since they were seating people in an area that was rented! I am baffled and will not ever return to this establishment.
It had the feel of a dive bar with a speakeasy way of finding it. The food was amazing and the interior ambiance was cozy and welcoming. Found this spot through local recommendations and would recommend it to you. I had the enchiladas platter and a spicy margarita but pretty sure anything that wood burning fire behind the bar produces would be legit as well.
