Dobbins Lookout reviews
18If you want to see all phenix this the place with all good views I love it.if you have family coming from a different country this is the perfect place to take them for good pictures and have a good time.
Very beautiful! A **MUST** for any visitors to Phoenix. The drive is rather tight at times but I was fine even in a large truck. Take lots of pictures!
Fantastic place to visit but be warned about the constant or feels like a million speed bumps to the base of the mountain. Its ridiculous and for any lowered cars your gonna hate going on this unless you've got adaptive suspension on your sports car. Really gotta cut down on the speed bumps, it's overkill.
Such a stunning look out, especially going during the sunset time. I came to visit for a weekend and it was the perfect spot to end our trip at. Would definitely recommend, for some great great views!
Absolutely beautiful! The last time I was here, I was a little girl. Now, I'm here with my boyfriend and our dog. Still just as beautiful as it was when I was little.
Good trail, more than enough parking. You'll be in the shade most of the time in the morning. Great view of the city at the lookout. If you were to compare to piestewa, this is slightly longer but easier. South mountain is covered with trails, don't get lost.
Awesome place to see the sunset. Make sure u look up the sunset time and calculate that from the park entrance to the lookout it’s about a 20min drive. We got there early and once the sun started setting it got busy. Restroom on the premises.
Take yourself a coffee, plenty of places to sit. Enjoy
Such a scenic and relaxing location. Went during the day and it was so quiet, peaceful and just what a location like this should be.
You can get one of a kind pictures of phoenix and all of its surrounding sister cities. Great perspective on how this city's growth is intrinsically tied to its people and how when we band together the wonders we can create! Alone we are amazing buttogether we are limitless!
I loved it up here. I will b returning again soon. Omg this was my first time ever being here. And let me tell you how beautiful it looked! Wow, amazing how the world can change within a couple of hours!
You can actually drive all the way up to the lookout. There are scenic pull-offs along the road and trails to hike and bike.
AMAZING view of the valley. It's a narrow and winding road to the top. Bathrooms are available at the top for those wondering. A few areas areas of the lookout are cordoned off so just be aware. There is broken glass all around the lookout so for those with little ones you might want to keep an eye on them when exploring around. There were a few vendors at the summit the day we went there selling jewelry and other artisanal objects as well as water and a few other drinks. All in all a great place for an espectacular view of the valley and surrounding mountains.
The view is to die for, and though crowded, it is completely understandable why people flock to this place. Being able to see for miles and the way the city lights up as dusk sets in, it's amazing.
Excellent views! Too many people. Rude people bringing wireless speakers or blasting music from their cars ruins the experience for others.
A beautiful place to view Phoenix and vicinity. I imagine that locals would get a better experience due to recognizing what they see. The vault toilets leave a lot to be desired. No water to wash your hands. The temps at the top were 8 to 10 degrees cooler than the valley.
Great spot for a picnic overlooking Phoenix (especially if you've just picked up someone from the airport that's never been to Phoenix).
Well worth the drive. Nice old stone structure at the lookout. On a clear day you can see all the way across the Valley.
Amazing views of Phoenix including the downtown area and surrounding areas. The road just inside the park was under construction when we visited in early Oct 2021 but the detour signs were easy to follow and only added a few minutes to the drive up. We saw a lot of bicyclists on the road so definitely drive cautiously especially around all the blind turns.
