Dollar General, Tucson AZ

This dollar general is selling poison/ laced cigarettes, tobacco. The employees are being paid to sell this product to me. They have been lied to and paid money to assault me with this product. Laura hatch and Brandon hatch are being paid to distribute this product.

Though I have shopped here regularly for the past 4 years, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Dollar General any longer.

Reason: Despite an employee admitting that the only way an incorrect item can be scanned and added to a receipt is if a cashier made the mistake, Dollar General refused to refund money for a gift card that was incorrectly processed by their own employee.

Summary: After purchasing and immediately giving my parents gift cards to go on a trip to visit family as my father is battling stage 4 cancer, his health declined and their trip was delayed. When they finally went to use the gift cards, Visa informed them that one was never properly activated (the card in question) and one had been hacked and shut down by Visa to save the remaining funds.

While willing to refund the smaller balance that had been hacked, which was not in question, Dollar General refused to refund the card that, in their own words, their own employee incorrectly processed.

So they took $600 from me and, indirectly, my ailing parents, and then offered a refund of less than $200 for the hacked amount, that, without Visa, would not have been caught.

Even though I still had the receipt, which I turned over to the manager of the store and never heard from again, and Visa confirmed the situation was not the fault of the customer, Dollar General stated video proof of the employee improperly processing it was needed. Dollar General then informed me there was no way to obtain such video as they only keep records for so long.

Essentially, I was presented with an impossible way of obtaining a refund: Either present a receipt for an item I never purchased or received OR find video that doesn't exist. Then they stopped responding.

The worst part is not the loss of money to a company that I used almost exclusively to supply my community outreach services. The worst part is my sick parents feeling as though it is their fault for not using the cards quickly enough. Even though the reason they didn't was because of a serious illness.

A company that would treat customers and people this way when all that was requested was a review and refund for the gift card their employee failed to properly activate, is not a company I want associated with myself, my family, or the children and families we endeavor to serve.

This is my personal experience and is in no way a reflection of how others may be treated at this location or by this corporation.

This is a clean location. While, there is a lot of shelving of new stock going on. The organization of where things are located might be confusing at times. That's all I can think of to say.

The night staff is the best. Nina has one of the best personalitys ive come across in a long time

This store was clean and convenient. Dollar General has everything you need all in one location. We love going here to stay away from the rush and business of other big name stores. We love how quickly we are able to get inside, get what we need and then head out. Great job guys!

Great staff and Management, always helpful and friendly, Store is always stocked well, This crew works hard.

This store has been well stocked even with the pandemic and it's logistical hardships. The team members are always friendly and efficient. I am always pleased when coming here.

The only Dollar General in Catalina but I got to say it's probably one of the best Dollar Generals I've ever been in. Give it a 5-star rating because they got everything from A to Z there and the customer service is excellent

The store was clean and thank goodness one of the cashier's knew her stuff. I left my debit card at home, and was at the register with tones of stuff. The cashier that was assisting me told em that they didn't have Google pay. I then went into a panic. I needed everything on the counter. Then stepped in SUPER WOMAN. She told her that Dollar General did except Google Pay just not Apple pay. She saved the day! She saved the day.

Nice gals working let me in when they were ready closed to get my lover his chocolate milk.

Most of the staff are helpful and friendly.there are some Karen's up there. Just be kind to one another.fr.

My wife stopped here to get paint for an art project and they had a great selection. She unfortunately grabbed a bottle of purple and the cap was broken and paint leaked all over her hands

Pricing was very confusing as products often have no clear price tag/sticker, or label and more often than not the shelves the products were on or boxes they were set in had very misleading pricing info or lacked any price tag whatsoever. My other issue is perhaps petty but I can't stand that it is called dollar General when I've seen things being advertised at prices $30.00 and up! Anyways that's all I have to complain about l.p.

This store does not honor the rules by the Better Business Bureau I have pictures of two stickers on fridge doors same fridge door to buy beer one at the lowest price one at the price that they were charging they would not change the price which is actually illegal for them

I was at DG the other day, and they had TP and other supplies. They limited amounts you could buy, which I was really glad to see so everyone could benefit. I hope they continue that through this time. I'm high risk and have elderly in-laws that live with me. It's been difficult to find supplies, so I really appreciated their efforts.

It was a nice inexpensive place to shop here in Catalina. It had far better prices than bashas.
