The doctor's PA was extremely knowledgeable, through, displayed a calming, pleasant personality, which lessened my anxieties. I was extremely impressed with her overall qualities.

I had a trigger finger. My hand surgeon sent me to a rheumatologist to rule out arthritis. I am slightly diabetic. So my hand surgeon did not give me steroids since it elevates sugar levels all the more.
Now I went to see Dr. Chohan and from day one she behaved as if I had arthritis. She ordered hell lots of tests (blood tests, xrays and genetic mutation test - for a moment I believed I could be one of the X-men).

All possible tests came out to be negative pointing to the fact that I did not have arthritis. Still she kept treating me for arthritis.

The very first day she gave me a steroid shot in my hip - knowing it very well that I was diabetic and was on metformin. Now after that my periods delayed. I googled up a bit and saw that it was a commom side effect of steroid shot. So I contacted her and she told me that she has never heard of such a side effect (which was very weird since everybody I checked with said it was a common side effect).

On my next appointment, she said that I should be having arthritis even though all my tests came out -ve. She suggested it could be rheumatoid (which is symmetric and I just had a swelling on my left middle finger) or psoriatic (though I did not have any rash). She prescribes me steroids and quinine and said lets see how it reacts with your body. I was really suspicious. Luckily I spoke to my hand surgeon who said that it seemed she had no idea what she was doing, which was pretty much what I felt. I did not take the medicines, took a second opinion, he quickly did an ultrasound and showed me that it was nothing but just a swelled tendon and he treated my trigger finger. The swelling has almost subsided and I can use my finger again!

I have suffered from Systemic Rheumatoid Arthritis since I was 14 months old and now being 34 and having lived in both Canada & USA I have had my share of Rheumatologist. I recently met Dr. Chohan this past January after my prior doctor closed his office. Right away I was so impressed! She was so thorough and truly knew her stuff. She came up with an amazing game plan for my medications and future treatments. Dr. Chohan genuinely took interest in me and not just my arthritis. I am so happy to be a new patient of hers and I am so confident in her being my new doctor.
