El Tovar Hotel reviews
14What a beautiful hotel located right at the Grand Canyon! After a hot day of hiking around, cool off inside.
I visited this hotel during my trip to the Grand Canyon! The staff was welcoming and guests seemed relaxed and happy. Highly Recommended!
A place where you can enjoy the Grand Canyon sunrise and sunset at your accommodation.
Accommodation along the Grand Canyon Trail.
Well I've seen first seat to discrimination to their employees according to them a white woman can do felonious assault to a blackman and their eyes they think the blackman can protect his self ARIZONA IS A STAND YOUR GROUND STATE Running 20 yrds to attack be and to be restraint is criminal matter they over looked that and just looked at this man protecting himself. A white woman can do wrong and be touch d by the justice system theres special treatment
The service is not there for the job of helping or informing, according to them they do not know of any activity that they can offer you, distant and unfriendly treatment, the room is small and dark, very large and uncomfortable pillows, there is no elevator, you have You have to take your bags up to a third floor without help, the parking lot is saturated, you have to park a mile away, the restaurant closes at 2: 30 p.m.
Right beside the Grand Canyon. Unbelievable. Slept like a baby, great beds, great staff, excellent coffee service each morning 6: 30a-10a. Loved being here.
Best location on the south rim in historical hotel. Great views from the patio and short walk to Bright Angel Trail down into Grand Canyon. Hotel room was clean.
Came here to have breakfast at the Grand Canyon, the food and service was excellent and the Grand Canyon view at the table was spectacular.
Poor food and beverage service. I never had so many problems just to have a drink at the bar.
The rate is too high for the quality of the furniture. The rooms were small. They don’t have housekeeping service. The only good thing about the room was the bathroom.
Isa was amazing at the gift shop! She complimented my twilight shirt! Team jacob! Highly recommend.
This unique hotel is so special that it is included in my book "Arizona's Historic and Unique Hotels. " So many famous people have stayed here and Douglas Fairbanks made a silent movie here. Mary Jane Colter assisted in designing the bar cafe for El Tovar, and she created the showplace for Indian Crafts to be sold. The became one of the many Fred Harvey Hotels back in the day. Dr. Diane Holloway Cheney
I definitely recommend booking dinner here! After a long day of hiking, it feels amazing so go to a cozy restaurant and have excellent service. I believe you can make reservations here 30 days in advance online - which is a must! All of the food was great and definitely worth it. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area, even if you are not staying in the hotel.
No elevator so carrying luggage a challenge. Parking nit the best due to sharing with grand canyon visitors
I loved being right up against the Grand Canyon! Best views of the Grand Canyon and I highly recommend it! The only thing I did not enjoy was the unwelcoming, tired service I encountered at check in. Good thing it was fast! Also, El Tovar requires reservations to eat at their restaurant and that means you might have to walk into the nearby hotels to eat; not complaining. The room was clean. The standard queen beds were a bit too hard for my taste, I had to keep tossing and turning to avoid hip and shoulder aches. The pillows were perfect. The cooling system was loud, but worked great! Best way to enjoy the Grand Canyon is to take your time.
