Elden Pueblo Archaeological Site reviews
16Neat place to visit. And FREE. It was cool to see this area. The only way you get the history is by scanning a QR code and reading from your phone. For these types of excursions I normally leave my phone behind so I can enjoy the moment and place so it was a bit discouraging.
This place was so much bigger than we expected based on what we could see from the road. The people who manage the site have done a great job with their organization, signage, and self-guided brochure. Definitely worth a stop.
Interesting to learn how small the communal rooms/huts and houses were back then. Just wish the dig were more complete.
A small site with a new interpretive trail. Worth stopping and learning about the early native people who lived here. They have done a great job with the restoration of the site. A short walk so very easy for children. Please be respectful of the area. Interpretive guides are in the metal box as you walk in.
The history of our forefathers was fabulous. The interactive displays with the visual made this a must see site. It's location entrance is small so be ready to turn in when heading North on Highway 89. Keep in mind that this is still a working Archaeological site so stay on the paths and enjoy.
Neat little place. Easy walk and nice self service pamphlet. Really cool to think about the history of the place surrounded by pines. Good for a 30 minute stop!
Very nice place. A very short walk round the ruin area. Although only the foundations remain, it is a place worth seeing. Situated near the road and also in the middle of nature. There is a qr-code for informations to your cellphone. Entrance is free and it is open 24 hours.
This place should be skipped. The structures are obviously not created by the Pueblos and it even says in the brochure that it is an early 1900 recreation by a gentleman who "believed" that's how everything would be put together. The concrete all over the structures ruined it.
Wish the area looked more authentic the trailer areas surrounding it that are unkept really take awake from the ancient feel
The QR code doesn't work. The url didn't take you to the information explaining to the numbered stops posted at the site. Very disappointing. Fix this guys.
Very interesting site, nice trails, wild flowers, portable pots, parking area. Lots of history.
Great site! There was a archeologist on site with pieces of clay pottery that were found, as well as a site to try out the primitive weapons with a range manager to help everyone with the weapons and keep it very safe. Great stop!
This site is on the eastern side of Flagstaff. Take an hour to stop and go through as it is an easy walking path. Its hard to believe that water was an issue in this area. Read the information to see how they farmed and survived. It looks like there is continuing archeology work being done here. I have started watching for birds and have found several new ones here. There are no restrooms. It is a gravel path, i believe with help, a wheelchair could make it through this path.
Suprisingly very good place to see an ancient pueblo.right off the road. The park rangers were very helpful too. A must gp if you like pueblo ruins.
They only tell you about Walnut Canyon, Wupatki and Sunset Crater. Well, this small site is inbetween the crater and the canyon. Its pretty cool and worth checking out.
I'm glad this area is being preserved. It could have easily been paved over by the highway that runs right next to it.
