Fry's Food And Drug, Oro Valley AZ

I have been shopping at this Fry's location for 17 years. I rarely write poor reviews but this was absurd. We bought a piece of 'fresh halibut" there yesterday afternoon at almost $26.00 for this evening's meal. We opened it up this eve and it REEKED like rotten fish. We brought it back this evening in the original brown wrapper showing the label from Fry's with yesterday's date on it. We did not keep the receipt but did purchase it using our Fry's VIP number. We could not get credit without a receipt. WHAT? ! Who keeps grocery receipts? The WORST customer service ever. Fry's Food shame on you! You just lost a loyal customer. #RIPOFF #POOR CUSTOMERSERVICE #BADPOLICY #FRY"S DOESNOT BACKFRESHNESS

Went through the deli to get a sanack the orange chicken wasn't cooked and the egg roll tasted horrible. When I went to customer service to get my money back the girl there seemed to take it personal.

MY PERSONAL ADVICE IS AVOID THIS STORE. ALTHOUGH THE STAFF IS QUITE FRIENDLY ON THE WHOLE, I HAVE HAD 3 FRACAS WITH THEM THERE ABOUT POLICY, DECEPTIVE PRACTICES AND PRODUCT INADEQUACIES. THE SIMPLE SOLUTION IS JUST TO AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE. THERE IS A BETTER FRYS STORE A SHORT DISTANCE AWAY ON ORACLE. OVERALL, FRYS (KROGER) HAS BETTER PRICES THAN SAFEWAY/ALBERTSONS AND BASHAS. NOT BETTER QUALITY. THE GREEN GROCER DEPT IS ADEQUATE BUT SAFEWAY AND BASHAS AND SPROUTS ARE CERTAINLY BETTER. NOT TO MENTION THE PRICEY WHOLE FOODS. THE MEATS AT FRYS, ON THE WHOLE ARE MEDIOCRE. NOT NEARLY AS GOOD AS TRADER JOES OR SAFWAY, NOR THE FISH. TO THEIR CREDIT THE KROGER BRANDS ON MANY ITEMS ARE EQUAL TO IF NOT BETTER THAN NATIONAL BRANDS. EXAMPLES, CREAM CHEESE OVER KRAFT. ALBACORE SOLID TUNA OVER BUMBLEBEE, GRATED CHEESES OVER SARGENTO, MILK PRODUCTS OVER LOCAL DAIRIES (NOT BUTTER, LAND O LAKES BEST). IT'S HIT OR MISS. BUT THEIR DECEPTIVE PRACTICES (IN MY OPINION) REALLY FLOURISH IN THE WINE DEPT. THEY WILL HAVE OSTENSIBLY 25% SALES EVERY FEW WEEKS. IT'S A SHELL GAME. LET'S SAY YOU WANT CLOS DU BOIS CHARDONNAY. ONE WEEK IT WILL BE $9.95 WITH 10% OFF IF YOU BUY 6 BOTTLES= $54 ABOUT FOR 6. THE NEXT WEEK, THEIR NEW PRICE WILL BE $10.95 WITH THE SUPER DUPER 25% OFF=$50 ABOUT. SO YOU WILL SAVE BUT NOT AS MUCH AS IF THE WINE WERE THE SAME PRICE IT WAS THE WEEK BEFORE. LAST WEEK, I HAD A CONFRONTATION WHEN THEY HAD THE SAME 25% OFF BANNERS UP WITH THE UNNOTICED DISCLAIMER OF "PREORDER" IN WITH THE STATEMENT "NOW THROUGH OCT. 20. " RIDICULOUS. SO I WENT INSTEAD TO SAM'S CLUB WHICH HAD THE SAME WINE FOR $7.42 A BOTTLE. THUS I BOUGHT 2 CASES (SINCE IT'S FURTHER AWAY) WHICH WILL LAST US A COUPLE OF MONTHS. TOTAL BEFORE TAX. $178. AT FRYS IT WOULD HAVE BEEN $232 FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF WINE (BEFORE TAX IN EACH CASE.) SO YOU CAN SEE IT'S BETTER TO JUST GO WITH A STRAIGHT FORWARD COMPANY INSTEAD OF ALL THIS MICHIGAS. THE ONE EXCEPTION AND THE ONLY REASON I WILL RETURN TO THIS FRYS STORE IS THE PHARMACY. THEY HAVE TWO (AT LEAST) VERY FINE PHARMACISTS, OLGA AND JEAN. VERY HELPFUL AND CARING. OTHERWISE, AFTER 15 YEARS, I WON'T BE BACK

I guess this Fry’s doesn’t care about enforcing their own store mask policies for its staff and customers, wiping down carts, and providing wipes to customers.

This Frys got rid of the baggers at the expense of safety Covid costs. Gotta bag your own.would rather have people working and helping than doing this mask thing.

Awaited over one hour for a pickup being told 3 times it would be ready in 15 minutes and at the end of the hour it still wasn’t done.

June 28,2020 - Apparently COVID19 does not exist at Fry's on la Canada. There was no sanitation station at the entrance or just inside the store. Only half the people stocking shelves or shopping were wearing a face mask. And several shoppers wore them under their nose or chin. The worker helping at the self check-out was not wearing one. I am also skilled enough to scan and bag my groceries but NOT skilled enough to scan coupons. They should just put a sign on the door Go Shop at Safeway.

The most unfriendly customer service ever experienced. Out of the four workers I spoke with, all of them were unfriendly and cold. I told one of the grocery sackers to be kinder to employees and he gave me the middle finger in front of all of the customers. Terrible store.

I've been coming to this store for about a year. It is a clean, busy store with a lot of customer traffic. I've come to know Ray and Glenda with Customer Services. Ray is a nice young man with a great attitude and personality, and Glenda is cheerful, knowledgeable and friendly. Nothing but a great store here.

Always a food shopping experience. Good selection and fast check out. Always someone there to help if needed.

Efficient store. Deli service expedient! I always have to wait, and wait, and wait and sometimes never even get served at the Frys on Oracle and 1st Avenue.

Friendly staff, but I am always disappointed with their produce. Had to throw out half of the organic blackberries that I bought today because they were moldy.not the first time.

We decided to try this Fry's because it's closer to our house and because the Fry's on North Oracle is always crowded, especially when it comes to find parking.
The selection is way better at this one. Fish and meat seem to be better. Great wine/sprits selection.

We enjoy their rotisserie chicken often and today they didn’t have any. Manager Lloyd offered us baked chicken instead without charging because he wanted to make sure we get what we came for. We appreciate they wanted to make sure we have good experience. I also witnessed an employee being very helpful to other customers, making sure an elderly customer is being taken care of as well

Great store. Wonderful prices! Recommend getting the app on your phone. Get hundreds of coupons and notice of special deals. You can do your shopping list online and they will have it ready for you when you come. Great deli too. Plenty of mobility Carr's available.

I love this one. Always clean nice selection and helpful people. They have a choice between self checking or regular Checkers. It seems like there's a steady flow of people but never too many at one time

Just wanted to give a shout out for Jessica Micheli. She is a wonderful cashier there and a very caring person!

Very friendly staff, and for being such a busy grocer, the self-checkout always makes fir a speedy visit!

From out of town so did not know what to expect. Great store, had everything we needed. We're from Washington, it's like a QFC or Kroger out there.

The selection and fresh produce is awesome, but what really makes it stand out is the friendly and helpful staff. I never know if they just started their shift or ending a long day; they're cheerful and professional no matter what. They're always busy cleaning and restocking, and they respond to questions in a polite manner (I once asked a deli worker about shampoo; he directed me to the section and mentioned a sale going on as well) A+ location
